Description
高速処理物理蒸着法(HT−PVD)を用いて、マイクロ加工した電極アレイ上にPtAuX合金を薄膜材料として合成する(この種のアレイは、Guerinら、J.Combinatorial Chemistry,6(2004),149に記載されている)。基材温度300Kにて構成成分を同時に付着させることにより、偏析(segregation)及び凝集相の形成を防止した。
エネルギー分散型X線分光法(EDS)により合金の組成を得て、HClO4電解質中の酸素を還元する合金の活性を高速処理電気化学法を用いて測定した。測定は、300Kにて0.7VSHE〜0.9VSHEの電位範囲でO2飽和溶液中で行った。
Pt、Au及びCrを用いて触媒アレイを製造した。Ptの量は、0%〜100%の範囲であり、Auの量は0%〜100%の範囲であり、Cuの量は0%〜100%の範囲であった。図1は、異なる触媒中のPt、Au及びCrの量に比して、当該触媒の活性を示す三成分系図である。プロットの右下側部分の触媒が最良の活性を有することが同図から明らかである。最も活性な触媒中のクロム含有量は、10%を中心としたかなり狭い範囲内にあるが、白金含有量は約90%から50%又は40%まで変化し、金含有量は約2%から40%まで変化する。
Pt、Au及びTiを用いて触媒アレイを製造した。Ptの量は、0%〜100%の範囲であり、Auの量は0%〜100%の範囲であり、Tiの量は0%〜100%の範囲であった。図2は、異なる触媒中のPt、Au及びTiの量に比して、当該触媒の活性を示す三成分系図である。プロットの右下側部分の触媒が最良の活性を有することが同図から明らかである。最も活性な触媒中のチタン含有量は、10%を中心としたかなり狭い範囲内にあるが、白金含有量は約90%から50%まで変化し、金含有量は約2%から50%まで変化する。
Claims (13)
- 燃料電池電極用の三成分触媒であって、
PtAuX合金を含んでなり、
XがCr、Ti及びCuから選択される一種の金属であり、
前記PtAuX合金が40原子%〜97原子%のPtと、1原子%〜40原子%のAuと、2原子%〜20原子%のXとを含有してなる、三成分触媒。 - XがCr及びTiから選択される一種の金属である、請求項1に記載の三成分触媒。
- 前記PtAuX合金中のPtの量が40原子%〜90原子%である、請求項1又は2に記載の三成分触媒。
- 前記PtAuX合金中のPtの量が50原子%〜80原子%である、請求項1又は2に記載の三成分触媒。
- 前記PtAuX合金中のAuの量が5原子%〜40原子%である、請求項1〜4の何れか一項に記載の三成分触媒。
- 前記PtAuX合金中のAuの量が9原子%〜40原子%である、請求項1〜4の何れか一項に記載の三成分触媒。
- 前記PtAuX合金中のXの量が5原子%〜17原子%である、請求項1〜6の何れか一項に記載の三成分触媒。
- 前記PtAuX合金中のXの量が10原子%〜15原子%である、請求項1〜6の何れか一項に記載の三成分触媒。
- 前記PtAuX合金が導電性炭素材料上に分散されてなる、請求項1〜8の何れか一項に記載の三成分触媒。
- 電子伝導性基材上に付着されてなる、請求項1〜9の何れか一項に記載の三成分触媒を備えてなる、電極。
- ポリマー電解質膜上に付着されてなる、請求項1〜9の何れか一項に記載の三成分触媒を備えてなる、触媒膜。
- 請求項1〜9の何れか一項に記載の三成分触媒を備えてなる、膜電極アセンブリ。
- 請求項1〜9の何れか一項に記載の三成分触媒がカソードに組み込まれてなる、請求項12に記載の膜電極アセンブリ。
