Description
本発明は、第2の観点からすると、変調された照明光の干渉を利用して、移動体の位置情報を検出するエンコーダであって、前記移動体の移動方向に配列されたパターンを有するスケールと、前記変調された照明光を干渉させて出射光を生成する光学系と、前記出射光を受光する受光素子と、前記受光素子から供給される位相が異なる少なくとも2つの光電変換信号を乗算して生成された信号に基づいて前記移動体の位置情報を出力する制御回路と、を備え、前記スケール、前記光学系及び前記受光素子のうち少なくとも1つは前記移動体に固定され、前記スケールは前記光学系及び前記受光素子と相対的に移動するエンコーダである。
これによれば、制御回路は、受光素子から供給される位相が異なる少なくとも2つの光電変換信号を乗算して生成された信号に基づいて移動体の位置情報を出力する。これにより、2つの光電変換信号の乗算によって実質的に変調度を大きくすることができ、検出精度の向上が可能となる。

Claims (9)
- 変調された照明光の干渉を利用して、移動体の位置情報を検出するエンコーダであって、
前記移動体の移動方向に配列されたパターンを有するスケールと、
前記変調された照明光を干渉させて出射光を生成する光学系と、
前記出射光を受光する受光素子と、
前記受光素子から供給される位相が異なる少なくとも2つの光電変換信号を減算して第1の信号を生成し、生成された前記第1の信号に基づいて前記移動体の位置情報を出力する制御回路と、を備え、
前記スケール、前記光学系、及び前記受光素子のうち少なくとも1つは前記移動体に固定され、前記スケールは前記光学系及び前記受光素子と相対的に移動するエンコーダ。 - 前記制御回路は、前記第1の信号と、前記受光素子から供給され前記2つの光電変換信号とは位相が異なる少なくとも2つの光電変換信号を減算した第2の信号と、を乗算して生成した信号に基づいて前記移動体の位置情報を出力する請求項1に記載のエンコーダ。
- 前記制御回路は、前記第1の信号と前記第2の信号とを乗算して生成した信号に基づいて前記照明光の変調度合いを制御する請求項2に記載のエンコーダ。
- 前記制御回路は、前記照明光の変調が停止した際にも、前記第1の信号に基づいて、前記移動体の位置情報を出力する請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のエンコーダ。
- 前記制御回路は、前記照明光の変調が停止した際に、外部にアラーム信号を出力する請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載のエンコーダ。
- 前記受光素子は、前記少なくとも2つの光電変換信号を前記制御回路に供給する少なくとも2つの受光部を有する請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載のエンコーダ。
- 前記第1の信号を構成した前記2つの光電変換信号は、前記移動方向に対して互いに180°の位相差を有する信号である請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載のエンコーダ。
- 変調された照明光の干渉を利用して、移動体の位置情報を検出するエンコーダであって、
前記移動体の移動方向に配列されたパターンを有するスケールと、
前記変調された照明光を干渉させて出射光を生成する光学系と、
前記出射光を受光する受光素子と、
前記受光素子から供給される位相が異なる少なくとも2つの光電変換信号を乗算して生成された信号に基づいて前記移動体の位置情報を出力する制御回路と、を備え、
前記スケール、前記光学系及び前記受光素子のうち少なくとも1つは前記移動体に固定され、前記スケールは前記光学系及び前記受光素子と相対的に移動するエンコーダ。 - 前記信号を構成した前記2つの光電変換信号は、前記移動方向に対して互いに90°の位相差を有する信号である請求項8に記載のエンコーダ。
