Description
本発明は、一般的には、電気エネルギー貯蔵デバイスにおいて有用な電解液に関し、より具体的には、非水系電解液に関する。
コンデンサーや電池のような電気エネルギー貯蔵デバイスの容量及び電力を改良するため、甚大な努力が何年にもわたり注がれてきた。ここで特に関心がもたれているのがスーパーキャパシタである。これらのエネルギー貯蔵デバイスは、電気自動車や無線通信デバイスなどの短期高電力用途において特に有用である。典型的なスーパーキャパシタは、炭素を基材とする電極と、荷電イオンを有する液体電解質とを含み、液体電解質を電極の周り配置して、電極間に電位をつくることができる。
本発明は、部品を電子回路や系に取り付ける前の製造プロセスの初期において、電気化学デバイスにおける電解液の漏れを測定するためのアプローチを提供する。具体的には、本発明は、染料などの指示薬を電解液と混合することを包含する。この指示薬は、可視光スペクトルに曝露した場合などの通常の条件下で検出可能であってもよく、あるいは、その検出可能性は、非可視の電磁周波数、例えばUV光に曝露した場合などの一定の条件下で向上させてもよい。多くの場合、デバイス製造者らは指示薬が特別な条件(周囲条件ではない)下で検出可能であることを望むに過ぎないことから、この後者の態様は好ましい。
本発明は、塩、溶媒、及び、一定の環境下でこの電解液を検出可能とするのに有効な量の指示薬を含む電解液を提供する。
実施例

実施例1a−1bにより、指示薬を含む電解液の導電性を、指示薬を含まない電解液と比較する。
実施例2
指示薬として痕跡量(ミリモル)の蛍光有機ユーロピウムキレートを含有するTEABF4/PC電解液溶液を調製する。この指示薬を伴う溶液を、サイクリックボルタンメトリー及び導電率について試験する。この溶液は、指示薬を含まないTEABF4/PC電解液溶液と同様な結果をもたらす。したがって、蛍光有機ユーロピウムキレートは、電解液と共に使用することができる別のクラスの指示薬(希土類イオンの有機錯体)である。
実施例3
アニリンを基材とする蛍光複素環式有機酸を指示薬として痕跡量(ミリモル)含有するTEABF4/PC電解液溶液を調製する。この指示薬を伴う溶液を、サイクリックボルタンメトリー及び導電率について試験する。この溶液は、指示薬を含まないTEABF4/PC電解液溶液と同様な結果をもたらす。したがって、アニリンを基材とする蛍光複素環式有機酸は、電解液と共に使用することができる別のクラスの指示薬(複素環式有機酸)である。更に、これらの指示薬は、アセトニトリルを基材とする電解液などの他のコンデンサー及び電池の電解液において使用することができる。
実施例4−24
表2に示す染料をおよそ10ppm含有するTEABF4/PC電解質溶液を調製する。この染料を伴う溶液をサイクリックボルタンメトリーと導電率について試験する。この溶液は、染料を含まないTEABF4/PC電解質溶液と同様の結果をもたらす。したがって、ここに示した染料は電解液とともに使用することができる。
Claims (1)
- 電池又はコンデンサーからの電解液の漏れを検出する方法であって、次の工程:
a.電解液を調製し、
ここで前記電解液は、塩、溶媒、及び指示薬を含み、
前記指示薬は、前記電解液の重量基準で25ppm未満の量で存在する1,8−ナフタールイミド染料であって、前記電解液の電圧ウィンドウ又は導電率を、指示薬を含まない電解液と比較して20%より大きく低減させない指示薬であり、
前記指示薬は、赤外線又は紫外線に曝露した場合に検出可能であり;
b.ハウジング;及び
前記ハウジング内の複数の電極;
を含む電気化学エネルギー貯蔵デバイスを提供し;
c.前記電解液を前記電気化学的エネルギー貯蔵デバイス中に導入し;
d.前記電気化学的エネルギー貯蔵デバイスを、紫外領域又は赤外領域の周波数を有する電磁放射線に曝露し;そして
e.前記電気化学的エネルギー貯蔵デバイスを発光について検査する;
ことを含む前記方法。
