Cgd:走査線103および絵素電極110間の寄生容量

Ccs:補助容量
このΔVを考慮し、ソースドライバ106は、本来印可すべき絵素電極110の電圧に、このΔVをあらかじめ加えた電圧を出力し、寄生容量であるCgd107の影響を受けてΔVだけ引き込まれた後に正しい電圧が絵素電極110にかかるように設計されている。

Claims (7)
- 液晶パネルを第1および第2の極性に交流駆動する液晶パネル駆動装置であって、
入力階調に対応する出力階調を生成する出力階調生成部と、第1の極性用ルックアップテーブルおよび第2の極性用ルックアップテーブルとを備え、
第1の極性用ルックアップテーブルでは、入力階調Tiと、第1の出力階調T1とが対応付けられ、
第2の極性用ルックアップテーブルでは、上記入力階調Tiと、第1の出力階調T1とは異なる第2の出力階調T2とが対応付けられ、
上記第1の出力階調T1および第2の出力階調T2は、交流駆動において入力階調Tiと該入力階調Tiに対応して出力すべき電圧の振幅中心とが有する特性およびガンマ特性に基づいて決定されており、
上記出力階調生成部は、同一の入力階調Tiに対して、第1の極性に駆動する場合には上記第1の極性用ルックアップテーブルを用いて第1の出力階調T1を生成する一方、第2の極性に駆動する場合には上記第2の極性用ルックアップテーブルを用いて第2の出力階調T2を生成することを特徴とする液晶パネル駆動装置。 - 第1の極性用ルックアップテーブルおよび第2の極性用ルックアップテーブルにはそれぞれ、R用、G用およびB用があり、上記出力階調生成部は、R、GおよびBの入力階調に対し、対応する第1の極性用ルックアップテーブルあるいは第2の極性用ルックアップテーブルを用いることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶パネル駆動装置。
- 上記第1および第2の出力階調T1・T2に基づいて擬似多階調処理を行う擬似多階調処理部を備えることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶パネル駆動装置。
- 入力階調Tiが時間的に連続するような表示を行う場合に、上記第1および第2の出力階調T1・T2が交互に生成されることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶パネル駆動装置。
- 液晶パネルを第1および第2の極性に交流駆動する、液晶パネルの駆動方法であって、
階調Tiを示す入力データに対し、第1の極性に駆動する場合には、階調Tiと階調T1とが対応付けられた第1の極性用ルックアップテーブルを用いて、階調T1を示す第1のデータD1を生成する一方で、第2の極性に駆動する場合には、階調Tiと階調T2とが対応付けられた第2の極性用ルックアップテーブルを用いて、階調T1とは異なる階調T2を示す第2のデータD2を生成し、
上記階調T1および階調T2は、交流駆動において入力階調と該入力階調に対応して出力すべき電圧の振幅中心とが有する特性およびガンマ特性に基づいて決定されていることを特徴とする液晶パネルの駆動方法。 - 階調Tiを示す入力データが時間的に連続するような表示を行う場合に、上記第1および第2のデータD1・D2を交互に生成することを特徴とする請求項5記載の液晶パネルの駆動方法。
- 液晶パネルと、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の液晶パネル駆動装置とを備えることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
