Claims (4)
- 波長選択フィルタと、外部からの位相調整信号に応じて前記波長選択フィルタを透過する光の位相を変化させる位相調整領域と光増幅領域とを有する半導体光増幅器と、を含む共振器を備え、前記波長選択フィルタの透過率が最大となる透過ピーク波長からモードホップが生じる波長までの波長マージンが長波側よりも短波側で小さい外部共振器型のレーザ装置であって、
前記共振器から出力される光の光強度を検出する光強度検出手段と、
前記光強度検出手段により検出される光強度が最大となるよう、前記位相調整領域に印加される位相調整信号を変動させる位相調整信号変動手段と、
前記位相調整信号変動手段による変動の周期より短い周期で、前記位相調整領域に印加される位相調整信号を振動させる位相調整信号振動手段と、
を含み、
前記光強度検出手段は、前記共振器から出力される光の波長が前記位相調整信号振動手段による前記位相調整信号の振動に応じて短波側に偏位している期間に、前記光強度を検出する、
ことを特徴とするレーザ装置。 - 請求項1に記載のレーザ装置において、
前記光強度検出手段は、前記共振器から出力される光の波長が前記位相調整信号振動手段による前記位相調整信号の振動に応じて短波側に最も偏位しているタイミングに応じて、前記光強度を検出する、
ことを特徴とするレーザ装置。 - 波長選択フィルタと、外部からの位相調整信号に応じて前記波長選択フィルタを透過する光の位相を変化させる位相調整領域と光増幅領域とを有する半導体光増幅器と、を含む共振器を備え、前記波長選択フィルタの透過率が最大となる透過ピーク波長からモードホップが生じる波長までの波長マージンが長波側よりも短波側で小さい外部共振器型のレーザ装置の制御方法であって、
前記共振器から出力される光の光強度を検出する強度検出ステップと、
前記光強度検出ステップで検出される光強度が最大となるよう、前記位相調整領域に印加される位相調整信号を変動させる位相調整信号変動ステップと、
前記位相調整信号変動ステップによる変動の周期より短い周期で、前記位相調整領域に印加される位相調整信号を振動させる位相調整信号振動ステップと、
を含み、
前記光強度検出ステップでは、前記共振器から出力される光の波長が前記位相調整信号振動ステップよる前記位相調整信号の振動に応じて短波側に偏位している期間に、前記光強度を検出する、
ことを特徴とするレーザ装置の制御方法。 - 請求項3に記載のレーザ装置の制御方法において、
前記光強度検出ステップでは、前記共振器から出力される光の波長が前記位相調整信号振動ステップによる前記位相調整信号の振動に応じて短波側に最も偏位しているタイミングに応じて、前記光強度を検出する、
ことを特徴とするレーザ装置の制御方法。
