光ファイバケーブル10の許容最小曲げ径は、メッセンジャーワイヤー(支持線)17の許容曲げ径によって決定される。光ファイバケーブル10は、通常、メッセンジャーワイヤー17として公称φ1.2〜2.6mm程度、もしくはそれより若干大きい径の鋼線、メッキ鋼線を用いている。この鋼線類の曲げによる線癖を防止するためには、曲げにより鋼線表面に加わる歪を降伏点(破断強度の75%程度)以下に抑える必要がある。図3(A)に示すように、メッセンジャーワイヤー17の直径をd、メッセンジャーワイヤー17の許容曲げ径(最小曲げ径)をDとすると、一般的には、鋼線径d×200が最小許容曲げ径Dとなる。従って、鋼線径dが1.2mmの場合は、φ250mm前後の曲げ径が最小曲げ径Dとなる。

Claims (1)
- 光ファイバ心線あるいは光ファイバテープ心線の両側にテンションメンバを並行に配し、前記テンションメンバが配されていない側の両側に防護壁を縦添えして、ケーブル外被で一括被覆した光ファイバケーブルであって、前記防護壁は、ケーブルの光ファイバ心線長に対して0.1から0.3%の余長が予め与えられていることを特徴とする光ファイバケーブル。
