Description
ここで、コストの低減、省資源の点からは、再生材からなる中間層の厚さを厚く、すなわち再生材の使用率を大きくする必要があるが、一方で、再生材は通常、高温の熱履歴に起因する酸化劣化等により、また異種の樹脂の混入により全体としてその機械的性質、成形性等が低下している。また内外層との接着性の低下も機械的性質、成形性等の低下に関連する。さらに、食品等に用いる容器にあっては内容物に対する影響があると深刻な問題となるため、中間層が直接内容物に接触しないようにする必要がある。
押出成形した筒状の多層パリソンのブロー成形により成形され、口筒部、肩部、胴部そして底部を有し、少なくとも外層と内層と1つの中間層から形成される多層ブロー容器において、
外層と内層を同一の合成樹脂で形成し、中間層を、内外層を形成する合成樹脂を主成分とする再生材から形成すること、
パリソンの押出し方向に沿って、底部のピンチオフ部近傍の所定の範囲に中間層を他の部分に比較して薄くした薄層領域を形成すること、
この薄層領域における中間層の層厚に係る構成比を平均で0.5以下の範囲とすること、
にある。
そして、このような薄層領域を限られた範囲とし、残りの部分では再生材の層厚を十分厚くすることにより、容器全体として再生材の使用率を高いレベルに保持することができる。
この観点から、第1の発明では容器に係る薄層領域を形成する範囲に係る記載を「パリソンの押出し方向に沿って」と云うようにしており、この「パリソンの押出し方向に沿って」とは、底部底面では「ピンチオフにより形成される溶着面に垂直な方向に沿って」と云う記載に相当する。
また、中間層の使用率をより高くすることができる等の有利な点がある。
(1)内側から内層流路、中間層流路、外層流路の順に配設された少なくとも3ケの円環状層形成流路と、この層形成流路の下流に合流点を介して位置する合流路を配設した多層押出し成形用ダイスを用いる。
(2)内層と外層流路に同一の合成樹脂を供給し、中間層流路に前記内外層流路に供給する合成樹脂を主成分とする再生材を供給すると共に、所定のタイミングで中間層流路における合成樹脂の流量を小さくして所定の高さ範囲に中間層を薄くした薄層領域を形成した多層パリソンを押出し成形する。
(3)この多層パリソンの下端をピンチオフすると共に、上端開口部からエアを吹き込んでブロー成形し、所定の範囲に中間層の薄い薄層領域を有する多層ブロー容器を成形する。
第1の発明にあっては、中間層の存在に起因して容器としての性能が低下するような所定の範囲に、中間層に係る薄層領域を配置することにより、再生材の利用に伴なう容器としての性能の低下を効果的防止して、再生材の使用率を大きくすることができる。
そして、非形成領域に比較して中間層の使用率をより高くすることができる。
図1は本発明の多層ブロー容器の一実施例を一部破断して示す正面図であり、この容器1は円筒状の口筒部2、肩部3、胴部4、底部5を有する壜体である。
そして、この容器1は外層11と内層12と中間層13から形成されており、外層11と内層12は高密度ポリエチレン樹脂製であり、中間層13は高密度ポリエチレン樹脂を主成分とした再生材から形成され、ナイロン樹脂等の異種の樹脂が少量、混入したものである。
また、図1中の部分的な縦断拡大図に示されるように、口筒部2の上端部は中間層13のない非形成領域Nとしている。
なお、本実施例では非形成領域Nの高さ範囲を3mmとしたが、後加工による中間層13の露出という点から、この非形成領域Nの高さ範囲は2mm以上必要である。
上記一実施例では上端面をシール面とした所謂天面シールタイプの口筒部2を示したが、キャップ、あるいは中栓と組み合わせてさまざまな形状、シール方式の口筒部2が採用され、そのタイプに応じて非形成領域Nの範囲を決める必要がある。
また、図2(b)は口筒部2の全高さ範囲h1で内周面をトリマー仕上げしてシールするタイプのもので、口筒部2の略全高さを非形成領域Nとするが、この例の場合には半径方向の削り代を考慮して厚さtを2mm以上とるようにしている。
この多層パリソンは、内側から内層流路、中間層流路、外層流路の順に配設された少なくとも3ケの円環状層形成流路と、この層形成流路の下流に合流点を介して位置する合流路を配設した多層押出し成形用ダイスを用いて押出成形されるが、所定のタイミングでバルブ機構や、シャッター機構により中間層流路における合成樹脂の流動を遮断して、この多層パリソンに容器1の口筒部2の上端部に成形される高さ位置となるように中間層のない非形成領域を形成することにより、図1の容器1の口筒部2の上端部に非形成領域Nを形成することができる。
また、必要に応じて、たとえばガスバリア性の高い樹脂層等の他の中間層を積層することもできる。

Claims (3)
- 押出成形した筒状の多層パリソンのブロー成形により成形され、口筒部(2)、肩部(3)、胴部(4)そして底部(5)を有し、少なくとも外層(11)と内層(12)と1つの中間層(13)から形成される多層ブロー容器であって、前記外層(11)と内層(12)を同一の合成樹脂で形成し、中間層(13)を、前記内外層を形成する合成樹脂を主成分とする再生材から形成し、
前記パリソンの押出し方向に沿って、底部(5)のピンチオフ部(6)近傍の所定の範囲に前記中間層(13)を他の部分に比較して薄くした薄層領域(F)を形成し、該薄層領域(F)における中間層(13)の層厚に係る構成比を平均で0.5以下の範囲としたことを特徴とする多層ブロー容器。 - 薄層領域(F)を、中間層(13)の層厚を徐々に減少せしめた層厚に係るグラデーション領域(G)とした請求項1記載の多層ブロー容器。
- ピンチオフ部(6)の溶着面(6a)から少なくとも10mmまでの範囲を薄層領域(F)とした請求項1または2記載の多層ブロー容器。
