上記実施例に対し、円形被覆部材20を用いないで1種類の光記録媒体を作製した。尚、他の製造条件は実施例と同様とした。

Claims (8)
- 中心孔を有する円板形状で略水平に設置された基板の上に透光性を有する放射線硬化性の樹脂材料を流動状態で前記中心孔の周りに環状に供給する樹脂材料供給工程と、中心孔を有する円板形状で内径が前記基板の中心孔の直径以上で外径が記録エリアの内径よりも小さい透光性を有する円形被覆部材を前記環状の樹脂材料の上に移載する円形被覆部材移載工程と、前記基板及び前記円形被覆部材を回転させて前記樹脂材料を遠心力により前記円形被覆部材よりも径方向外側に流動させて前記記録エリアを含む前記基板上に展延する樹脂材料展延工程と、前記基板に放射線を照射して前記樹脂材料を硬化させて前記基板よりも薄いカバー層を形成する放射線照射工程と、を含むことを特徴とする光記録媒体の製造方法。
- 請求項1において、
前記円形被覆部材移載工程及び前記樹脂材料展延工程の少なくとも一方において前記円形被覆部材を前記基板側に加圧することを特徴とする光記録媒体の製造方法。 - 請求項1又は2において、
前記円形被覆部材として前記樹脂材料との接触面が接着性を有する円形被覆部材を用いることを特徴とする光記録媒体の製造方法。 - 請求項1乃至3のいずれかにおいて、
前記基板としてその中心孔の周囲、且つ、前記記録エリアの内側に厚さ方向に凹み前記円形被覆部材を収容可能である凹部が形成された基板を用い、前記樹脂材料供給工程において前記凹部の上に前記樹脂材料を供給し、前記樹脂材料展延工程において前記円形被覆部材の上面の高さと該円形被覆部材よりも径方向外側の前記樹脂材料の上面の高さとがほぼ一致するように、前記樹脂材料を前記基板上に展延することを特徴とする光記録媒体の製造方法。 - 中心孔を有する円板形状の基板を略水平に設置するための回転テーブルと、前記基板の上に透光性を有する放射線硬化性の樹脂材料を流動状態で前記中心孔の周りに環状に供給するための樹脂材料供給装置と、中心孔を有する円板形状で内径が前記基板の中心孔の直径以上で外径が記録エリアの内径よりも小さい透光性を有する円形被覆部材を前記環状の樹脂材料の上に移載するための円形被覆部材移載装置と、前記基板に放射線を照射して該基板上に展延された前記樹脂材料を硬化させるための放射線照射装置と、を含むことを特徴とする光記録媒体の製造装置。
- 請求項5において、
前記円形被覆部材移載装置は、前記円形被覆部材を前記基板側に加圧可能であることを特徴とする光記録媒体の製造装置。 - 請求項5又は6において、
前記回転テーブルは、前記基板の中心孔及び前記円形被覆部材の中心孔に嵌入してこれら基板及び円形被覆部材を位置決めするためのガイドを備えることを特徴とする光記録媒体の製造装置。 - 中心孔を有する円板形状の基板と、透光性を有し前記基板上に形成された前記基板よりも薄いカバー層と、中心孔を有する円板形状で内径が前記基板の中心孔の直径以上で外径が記録エリアの内径よりも小さく前記基板と同心的に配置され片面が露出するように前記カバー層に埋め込まれた状態で設置された円形被覆部材と、を含み、前記基板はその前記中心孔の周囲、且つ、前記記録エリアの内側に前記円形被覆部材を収容する凹部が形成され、前記円形被覆部材の上面の高さと該円形被覆部材よりも径方向外側の前記カバー層の上面の高さとがほぼ一致しており、前記カバー層の内周部が前記円形被覆部材で被覆されていることを特徴とする光記録媒体。
