Description
本明細書で使用するとき、以下の用語および文言は下記の意味を有する。
積層物を、50℃、相対湿度95%の加湿室に14日間、次いで23℃、相対湿度50%の室内に14日間に暴露する。この28日サイクルを3回繰り返す(合計84日)。この加湿室の条件は、ANSI Z26.1の試験3に規定されているものである。
図1〜図3に示したような、4種の完全に接合させたグレージング積層物は以下のようにして製造することができた。SRF光学シートを2枚のPVB接合シートの間に挟み込んだ。得られた3層積層物を寸法決めして、同じサイズのガラス製グレージング要素の2枚の平坦なシートの間に挟みこんで、光学シートおよび2枚の接合シートの周辺端がすべて、2枚のグレージング要素の周辺端のいずれよりも、約0.125〜約0.25インチ(約0.492〜約0.984mm)の範囲で超えて延在するようにした。次いで得られた積層物をオートクレーブ処理して、接合シート、光学シートおよびグレージング要素を互いに完全に接合させた。次いでその光学シートおよび接合シートを切断ブレード(たとえば、剃刀刃)を用いてトリミングして、それらの周辺端が、グレージング要素の周辺端と同じ高さにある、すなわち実質的に同延にあるようにした。次いでそのようにして得られた積層物の周辺端を、以下のようにして、熱処理または融解させた。第一の積層物は熱処理をしなかった。第二の積層物は、実験室用加熱エアガン(温度約750〜850゜F)を用いて加熱処理した。第三の積層物は、プロパントーチ(温度約2370゜F)を用いて処理した。その処理は、加熱エアガンまたはトーチを用いて、それぞれのグレージング積層物の周辺端を加熱することからなるが、ここで加熱エアガンおよびトーチはそれぞれ、周辺端から約1インチ(約2.54cm)の距離のところに位置させて、周辺端に沿って、おおよその速度約1〜約2インチ/秒(約2.54〜約5.08cm/秒)で移動させた。第四のグレージング積層物サンプルは、上述と同様にして集積させたが、剃刀刃を用いたトリミングの代わりに、このサンプルでは、1000゜Fの加熱ナイフを用い、約2インチ/秒(約5.08cm/秒)の移動速度でトリミングした。
完全接合プロセス(たとえば、オートクレーブ処理プロセス)の結果起きる光学フィルムの収縮の程度が大きいほど、発生する潜在応力が大きくなり、層剥離が起きる可能性も高くなる。グレージング要素がより複雑であるほど(たとえば、平坦な場合に比較して、複雑な曲面を有するグレージングシート)、発生する潜在応力が大きくなり、層剥離が起きる可能性も高くなる。完全接合プロセスの際に使用されるパラメーターの設定値(たとえば、温度、時間および圧力)もまた、発生する応力のレベルに影響し、それによって、その発生した応力が層剥離の原因となる可能性が高くなる。
層剥離の観察
グレージング積層物のサンプルは、透過光中、約0.3〜0.9メートルの距離で光学シートの周辺端を(裸眼で)見ることにより、層剥離を調べることができる。光源としては蛍光電球を使用することができる。層の間で層剥離(機械的な分離)が少しでも見えたら、受容不能と判断した。
Claims (10)
- 積層物において使用するのに適した光学シートであって、前記積層物が周辺端を有する少なくとも1枚のグレージング要素を含み、
前記光学シートが、元素金属又は金属化合物の層によっては得られない光学的性質を有する非金属多層光学フィルムを含み、
前記光学フィルムが100層以上の光学層の積み重ねを含む多層および周辺端を有し、そして
前記多層が前記光学フィルムの周辺端のみの実質的な部分に沿って融合されて、前記光学フィルムの周辺端の少なくとも前記実質的な部分に沿っての前記多層の層剥離が少なくとも実質的に低減され、
ここで、前記層剥離は、グレージングの積層加工の間に前記光学フィルムに加えられた応力によって少なくとも部分的に引き起こされかつ前記多層の、前記周辺端の前記実質的な部分を除く残りの部分は前記多層の層剥離を少なくとも実質的に低減するために融合されず、かつ前記光学フィルムの前記周辺端の前記実質的な部分が、前記周辺端から前記光学フィルム内の少なくとも10μmの深さ「d」まで融合された、光学シート。 - 前記多層が、前記光学フィルムの周辺端のみの全部に沿って共に融合されて、前記光学フィルムの周辺端の実質的に全部に沿っての前記多層の層剥離が少なくとも実質的に低減される、請求項1に記載の光学シート。

ここで、前記第一の接合シートの前記第2の主表面は前記第一のグレージング要素の主表面に面し、前記第二の接合シートの前記第2の主表面は前記第二のグレージング要素の主表面に面し、前記光学シートが前記第一の接合シートと第二の接合シートの間に配され、前記第一および第二の接合シートが前記グレージング要素の間に配され、そして前記光学フィルムの周辺端の少なくとも前記実質的な部分が、前記グレージング要素の少なくとも一つの周辺端の対応する部分と実質的に同延にあるように位置決めされている、積層物。 - 前記第一および第二の接合シートのそれぞれが、前記光学シートに対して、およびそのそれぞれのグレージング要素に対して、完全に接合されている、請求項3に記載の積層物。
- 前記光学フィルムの周辺端が、両方の前記グレージング要素の周辺端と実質的に同延にあるように位置決めされている、請求項3または4に記載の積層物。
- 前記光学フィルムの周辺端の少なくとも実質的な部分が、両方の前記接合シートの周辺端を実質的に超えて延在するように位置決めされ、そして前記接合シートのそれぞれの周辺端が、両方の前記グレージング要素の周辺端と実質的に同延にあるかまたはそれより実質的に内側に入っている、請求項3または4に記載の積層物。
- 前記積層物が、車両の窓に使用するのに適したグレージングである、請求項4に記載の積層物。
- 前記多層が、前記光学フィルムの周辺端の前記実質的な部分に沿って共に融合されて、前記多層の残りの部分が比較的に完全でかつ同一平面のまま残される一方で、混ざり合わされる、請求項3または4に記載の積層物。
- 窓構造において使用するためのグレージング積層物を製造するためのものであって、前記グレージング積層物が2枚の接合シートの間に挟み込まれた光学シートを含みかつ前記接合シートが2枚のグレージング要素の間に挟み込まれる方法において、
前記方法が、
請求項1または2に記載の光学シートを提供すること;
前記光学フィルムの周辺端を形成するように、前記光学シートを寸法決めすること;および
光学フィルムの周辺端のみの実質的な部分に沿って前記多層を共に融合させ、それにより、光学フィルムの周辺端の実質的な部分に沿っての前記多層の層分離を少なくとも実質的に低減すること;
を含み、
ここで、前記層剥離は、グレージングの積層加工の間に前記光学フィルムに加えられた応力によって少なくとも部分的に引き起こされかつ前記多層の、前記周辺端の前記実質的な部分を除く残りの部分は前記多層の層剥離を少なくとも実質的に低減するために融合されない、グレージング積層物を製造する方法。 - 2枚の、それぞれが前記光学シートおよび前記グレージング要素に対する接合に適した接合シートおよび2枚のグレージング要素を提供すること;
光学シートを接合シートの間に、そして接合シートをグレージング要素の間に挟み込むこと;
前記光学フィルムの周辺端の少なくとも実質的な部分が、グレージング要素の少なくとも一つの周辺端の対応する部分と実質的に同延にあるように位置決めされるように、前記光学シートを位置決めすること;および
前記光学シート、接合シートおよびグレージング要素を互いに完全に接合させること;
をさらに含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
