Description
Claims (12)
- カテーテルの先細り形状の遠位先端部を形成する方法であって、
近位端および遠位端、前記遠位端に隣接し前記遠位端を含む遠位先端部、ならびに前記遠位先端部の先細り形状にすべき形成領域を有するポリマーカテーテルシャフトを用意するステップと、
前記シャフトの前記形成領域のすぐ近位側および遠位側の領域を覆って断熱材料切片を一時的に配置するステップと、
前記形成領域の近位側および遠位側の位置で前記シャフトを把持し、可塑的に再形成するために前記形成領域を十分に加熱するステップと、
前記把持した位置で軸線方向の反対方向に引張ることにより前記形成領域に張力をかけた状態におくステップと、
前記断熱材料を除去するステップ
を含み、
前記形成領域を十分に加熱するステップにおいて、前記断熱材料が前記シャフトの前記形成領域のすぐ近位側および遠位側の領域に半径方向圧縮力を印加することを特徴とする方法。 - 前記断熱材料がポリオレフィン収縮チューブを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも1つの形成マンドレルを前記シャフトの管腔内に挿入するステップを更に含む、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 前記形成領域に張力をかけた状態におくステップが、少なくとも部分的には自動機械装置で行われる、請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記シャフトが、前記把持した位置を既知の距離だけ離すように既知の進行速度で移動することにより張力をかけた状態にされる、請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記距離がほぼ1.83センチ程度であり、前記進行速度がほぼ.0.44センチ/秒と1.05センチ/秒との間の範囲である、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記カテーテルが、遠位端に隣接する切断ワイヤを有する多管腔乳頭切除カテーテルであり、
前記シャフトの管腔に開口部を露出するために前記シャフトに削り孔を削るステップと、
前記シャフトの専用切断ワイヤ管腔および前記削り孔を通して切断ワイヤを配置するステップと、
前記切断ワイヤの一部を前記管腔から前記削り孔を超えて露出させつつ、前記切断ワイヤ管腔内の前記削り孔の遠位側に前記切断ワイヤの遠位端を固定するステップと、
をさらに含む、請求項1から6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。 - 加熱中に、前記削り孔を覆って断熱材料切片が配置される、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記シャフトの管腔に放射線不透過性マーカを設置するステップを更に含む、請求項7又は8に記載の方法。
- 前記切断ワイヤを固定する固定具およびマーカのサイズを減少することが、前記カテーテルの前記遠位先端の長さの短縮を可能にする働きをする、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記加熱するステップが、ほぼ371.11℃、流量ほぼ0.56〜0.84m 3 /minでほぼ40秒間高温空気を前記シャフトに印加するステップを含む、請求項1から10のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 先細りにされるべき前記シャフトの前記遠位端の直径が、熱せられた型を通して前記シャフトを延伸することにより直径短縮処理で予め短縮されている、請求項1から11のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
