一連の新しい画像を作成する手段と、
各2つの連続した原画像の間に前記一連の新しい画像の少なくとも1つを挿入する手段と、
各新しい画像のフィールドからの情報を第2の複数のサブフィールドにわたり分布する手段と、
原画像のサブフィールドの第1グループ及び少なくとも1つの新しい画像のサブフィールドの第2グループを使用して表示画像を生成する手段と、

Claims (7)
- プラズマディスプレイパネルを駆動する方法であり、
画像フレームごとに特定数のサブフィールドを持つ画像を表示するステップと、
一連の連続した原画像を受信するステップと、
各原画像からのピクセルに対する所望の階調を第1の複数のサブフィールドにわたりサブフィールドコーディングするステップと、
を有する方法であって、前記方法が、
前記2つの連続した原画像から計算される動きベクトルを前記原画像に対して使用することにより一連の動き補正された新しい画像を作成するステップと、
各2つの連続した原画像の間に前記一連の新しい画像の少なくとも1つを挿入するステップと、
各挿入された新しい画像のフィールドからのピクセルに対する所望の階調を第2の複数のサブフィールドにわたりサブフィールドコーディングするステップと、
ダブル階段分布を得るように原画像のサブフィールドの第1グループ及び前記挿入された新しい画像のサブフィールドの第2グループを使用して1フィールド期間中に表示画像を生成するステップと、
を有し、前記第1グループのサブフィールドの数及び前記第2グループのサブフィールドの数の和が、前記特定数であり、前記2つの連続した原画像が同じである静止画像に対して、前記第1グループのサブフィールド及び前記第2グループのサブフィールドの組み合わせから生じる階調が、前記原画像の階調と同じであることを特徴とする方法。 - サブフィールドが、限定サブフィールドコード(LSC)分布に従ってフィールド内に分布され、前記LSC分布は、連続した階調間でオン/オフを切り替えられるサブフィールドの数が制限されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記サブフィールドの前記第1グループが、前記原画像の1フィールド期間の前半のサブフィールドから構成され、前記サブフィールドの前記第2グループが、前記少なくとも1つの新しい画像の1フィールド期間の後半のサブフィールドから構成される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- プラズマディスプレイパネルを駆動する装置であって、前記装置が、
画像フレームごとに特定数のサブフィールドを持つ画像を表示する手段と、
一連の連続した原画像を受信する手段と、
各原画像のフィールドからのピクセルに対する所望の階調を第1の複数のサブフィールドにわたりサブフィールドコーディングする手段と、
前記2つの連続した原画像から計算される動きベクトルを前記原画像に対して使用することにより一連の動き補正された新しい画像を作成する手段と、
各2つの連続した原画像の間に前記一連の新しい画像の少なくとも1つを挿入する手段と、
各挿入された新しい画像のフィールドからのピクセルに対する所望の階調を第2の複数のサブフィールドにわたりサブフィールドコーディングする手段と、
ダブル階段分布を得るように原画像のサブフィールドの第1グループ及び前記挿入された新しい画像のサブフィールドの第2グループを使用して、1フィールド期間中に表示画像を生成する手段と、
を有し、前記第1グループのサブフィールドの数及び前記第2グループのサブフィールドの数の和が、前記特定数であり、前記2つの連続した原画像が同じである静止画像に対して、前記第1グループのサブフィールド及び前記第2グループのサブフィールドの組み合わせから生じる階調が、前記原画像の階調と同じである装置。 - 前記装置が、
入力データのインターレース解除及びアップコンバージョンのためのフレームレート変換器であって、動き補正された原画像である一連の新しい画像を有するプログレッシブビデオストリームを出力する当該フレームレート変換器と、
前記プログレッシブビデオストリームをRGB信号に変換するYUV変換器と、
処理されたプログレッシブRGB信号を作成する、前記RGB信号に対するビデオ処理のためのビデオプロセッサと、
PDPモジュールに対する前記表示画像を生成するための、サブフィールド生成及び前記処理されたプログレッシブRGB信号からのサブフィールド抽出のためのサブフィールド生成モジュールと、
を有する、請求項4に記載の装置。 - 前記装置が、
入力データのインターレース解除及び動きベクトルの計算のためのフレームレート変換器であって、前記フレームレート変換器の出力信号がプログレッシブビデオストリームであるフレームレート変換器と、
前記プログレッシブビデオストリームをRGB信号に変換するYUV変換器と、
処理されたプログレッシブRGB信号を作成する、前記RGB信号に対するビデオ処理のためのビデオプロセッサと、
PDPモジュールに対する前記表示画像を生成するための、前記処理されたプログレッシブRGB信号のアップコンバージョン及び前記処理されたプログレッシブRGB信号からのサブフィールド生成のためのアップコンバージョン及びサブフィールド生成モジュールと、
を有する、請求項4に記載の装置。 - 請求項4、5又は6に記載の装置と、
前記表示画像を表示するプラズマディスプレイモジュールと、
を有する表示機器。
