Claims (1)
- 各画素を担う複数の放電セルがマトリクス状に配列されたプラズマディスプレイパネルに対し、入力映像信号の各フィールドを構成する複数のサブフィールド毎に駆動して階調表示を行うにあたり前記放電セルに対して初期化の為のリセット放電を生起させないようにしたプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法であって、
前記サブフィールド各々は、前記入力映像信号に基づき前記放電セルの各々を発光モード又は消灯モードのいずれか一方に設定するアドレス行程と、前記発光モードに設定されている前記放電セルのみを前記サブフィールドの重み付けに対応した期間に亘り発光させるサスティン行程とからなり、
前記輝度レベル0の入力映像信号が所定期間以上に亘り継続して入力されて場合に限り、前記サブフィールド各々の内の最も重み付けが小なるサブフィールドの前記アドレス行程では前記放電セル各々の内からランダムに選択した複数の放電セルの各々を強制的に前記発光モードに設定することを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
