本発明は、下層路盤の表面にバラの骨材を固結一体化し、表面が平滑化された固結不陸修正層を形成し、この固結不陸修正層の上に人工芝マットを敷設することよりなる人工芝面舗装方法に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来このような人工芝面の舗装では、下層路盤、即ち、新設の人工芝面舗装場合は砕石路盤上に、又は既設グランドに人工芝面をオーバーレイする場合は既設グランド上に、透水性のアスファルトコンクリート(いわゆる透水アスコン)で舗設し、この透水アスコン層上に人工芝マットを敷設していた。即ち、この透水アスコンは、バラの骨材を固結一体化する固結剤がアスファルトであり、骨材とアスファルト(固結剤)との混合物を下層路盤上に舗設し、アスコン養生後にバラの骨材が固結一体化された固結不陸修正層を生ずるものであった。

更に、下層路盤上にバラの骨材を敷き均した上から固化剤として接着樹脂を散布してバラの骨材を固結一体化し、固結不陸修正層を形成する方法があった。

このような固結不陸修正層は、その後の人工芝マットの敷設を容易にするため必須のものである。即ち、固結不陸修正層がないと、人工芝マットを敷設する際の重機操作等によって骨材層に凸凹ができ、仕上がった人工芝面に凹凸を生じて使い物にならないからである。また、従来の固結不陸修正層は恒久的に固結硬化状態を保つことを前提として形成されていた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、近年スポーツプレーヤの健康上人工芝面のクッション性の悪さが問題になってきている。

従って、人工芝面のクッション性をよくするため、人工芝マットに工夫をこらし、人工芝マットのベースに植設するパイルに目砂及び/又は細粒ゴムチップを混入し、天然芝のクッション感に近づけようとしていた。このため、敷設する人工芝マット自体のコスト及び敷設作業にともなう労力及びコストを押し上げる原因となっていた。

従って、本発明の目的は、クッション性及び透水性の双方を兼ね備え、かつコストを低減することができる人工芝面舗装方法を得るにある。

この目的を達成するため、本発明人工芝面舗装方法は、下層路盤の表面にバラの骨材を敷き均し、エマルジョン状態の固結剤であって硬化後に経時崩壊性を示す固結剤を、表面が平坦化された骨材層に散布し、前記固結剤の硬化によりバラの骨材が一体化された固結不陸修正層上に人工芝マットを敷設し、人工芝マット敷設後に、硬化した固結剤の経時崩壊によって固結不陸修正層の骨材をバラけさせるようにしたことを特徴とする。

本発明は、固結不陸修正層は恒久的に硬化状態を保持するものであるという従来の人工芝面舗装工法に対する発想の転換を行なったもので、人工芝マット敷設後に下層の不陸修正層における骨材がバラければ、特別に細粒ゴムチップを人工芝パイル内に混入することなくクッション性を向上させることができるという着想に基づいてなされたもので、硬化後に経時崩壊性を示す固結剤を使用したものである。これにより、細粒ゴムチップを人工芝パイル内に混入させたコストの高い人工芝を使用せず、適度なクッション性を有する低コストの人工芝マットを使用することができる。また、改修時の細粒ゴムの回収及び処分にかかるコストを削減することができる。

本明細書中用語「経時崩壊性」は時間の経過にともなって硬化状態が次第に失われ、固結剤によって固結一体化したバラの骨材が次第にバラけることを意味する。

【発明の実施の形態】
次に、図面につき本発明の好適な実施の形態を説明する。

図1の(a)〜(d)に本発明による人工芝面舗装方法により舗装する段階を示す。本発明方法によれば、下層路盤、図示の実施の形態では例えば、約150〜約200mmの厚さの砕石層1(図1(a)参照)の表面に、粒度の小さいバラの骨材を敷き均して0〜約20mmの厚さのバラ骨材層2(図1の(b)参照)を形成する。

次に、このバラ骨材層2エマルジョン状態の固結剤であって硬化後に経時崩壊性を示す固結剤を、表面が平坦化された骨材層に散布し、固結剤の硬化によりバラの骨材が一体化された固結不陸修正層2Aを形成する(図1の(c)参照)。硬化後に経時崩壊性を示すこのような固結剤として、例えば、エチレン‐酢酸ビニル共重合樹脂のエマルジョンを使用する。

この固結不陸修正層2A上に人工芝マット3を直接敷設する(図1の(d)参照)か、又は必要に応じて排水マットを介在させてから敷設する。この固結不陸修正層2Aによって、人工芝マット3を敷設する際の重機や作業員の荷重に耐えて凹凸なく人工芝マット3をきれいに(平坦に)敷設することができる。人工芝マット3の敷設後は、硬化した固結剤の経時崩壊によって次第に固結不陸修正層2Aの骨材がバラける(図1の(e)参照)。

このバラけた骨材層2によって人工芝面は適度なクッション性を得ることができる。ただし、必要に応じて細粒ゴムチップ及び/又は砂が入った人工芝面とすることもできること勿論である。

他の実施例として、固結不陸修正層2Aは、バラの骨材とエマルジョン状態の固結剤であって硬化後に経時崩壊性を示す固結剤とを混練した流動体を敷き均して養生硬化させることによりバラの骨材が固結一体化されて表面が平坦な固結不陸修正層として形成することもできる。

更に、好適な実施例においては、バラの骨材を固結一体化する固結剤を人工芝面の使用箇所に応じて成分調整し、傷み易い箇所には硬化状態が長く持続する経時崩壊性を有するよう成分調整した固結剤を使用する。

上述したところは、下層路盤として新規の砕石層1を設ける実施の形態につき説明したが、下層路盤として既設グランド、例えば、砂入り人工芝上に人工芝面をオーバーレイする際にも本発明方法を適用することができる。

【発明の効果】
本発明によれば、人工芝マット敷設後に下層の固結不陸修正層における固結剤の硬化状態が時間の経過とともに崩壊して骨材がバラけるため、従来の不陸修正のための恒久的に固結した透水アスコン層が存在するのと比べてこのバラけた骨材層が適度なクッション性を人工芝面に与えることができる。これにより、細粒ゴムチップを人工芝パイル内に混入させたコストの高い人工芝を使用せず、適度なクッション性を有する低コストの人工芝マットを使用することができ、また、改修時の細粒ゴムの回収及び処分にかかるコストを削減することができる。
