Claims (19)
- 交互に配列された複数の正極板および負極板を有する電池用のセルであって、前記正極板および前記負極板が電気絶縁性のセパレータ層によりそれぞれ分離されており、前記正極板および前記負極板が前記セパレータ層を介して互いに覆われる関係にあり、前記正極板の各々が、それらの上部から伸長する突出タブを備えており、これら正極板の突出タブが略一列に配列されており、かつ前記負極板の各々が突出タブを備えており、これら負極板の突出タブが略一列に配列されている電池用のセルを、提供するステップと、
前記正極板の突出タブに導電性の接続ストラップを取り付けるステップと、
前記正極板の突出タブならびにそれに隣接する前記正極板、前記負極板および前記セパレータ層の上部の露出部分をキャップ材料で被覆するステップと、
前記キャップ材料を硬化させて、前記正極板の突出タブおよび前記正極板の上部に取り付けられるキャップを提供するステップと
を含む電池の製造方法。 - 前記キャップが、前記正極板の突出タブならびにそれに隣接する前記正極板、前記負極板および前記セパレータ層の上部の露出部分を被覆してこれらの酸化を防止する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記キャップが、前記接続ストラップと、前記正極板、前記負極板および前記セパレータ層の頂端とを一体化する剛性付与構造である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記正極板および前記負極板が、鉛を少なくとも99%含む材料で形成される請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記取り付けステップ後に前記セルをハウジング内に挿入するステップをさらに含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記塗布ステップ後に前記セルに電解液を加えるステップをさらに含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記塗布ステップが、前記接続ストラップの上面に前記キャップ材料を塗布するステップと、このキャップ材料を前記接続ストラップの側面に滴下させて、前記正極板の突出タブならびにそれに隣接する前記正極板、前記負極板、前記セパレータ層の上部の露出部分を被覆するステップとをさらに含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記キャップ材料が接着性の樹脂を含む請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記接着性の樹脂がエポキシ樹脂である請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記キャップ材料が、25℃で19センチポアズの粘度を有する請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記正極板および前記負極板が、平面である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記接続ストラップを取り付けるステップが、鋳型のくぼみに注入された導電性の溶融溶液中に前記正極板の突出タブを浸漬するステップと、この突出タブを、前記溶融溶液が凝固するまで、前記鋳型のくぼみの中で維持するステップとを含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記導電性の溶融溶液が、鉛を少なくとも99%含む材料を含む請求項12に記載の方法。
- ハウジングと、
交互に配列された複数の正極板および負極板であって、これら正極板および負極板が電気絶縁性のセパレータ層によりそれぞれ分離されており、前記正極板および前記負極板が互いに覆われる関係にあるとともに前記ハウジング内に配置されおり、前記正極板の各々が、それらの上部から伸長する突出タブを備えており、これら正極板の突出タブが略一列に配列されており、かつ前記負極板の各々が突出タブを備えており、これら負極板の突出タブが略一列に配列されている正極板および負極板と、
前記正極板の突出タブに取り付けられた導電性の接続ストラップと、
前記負極板の突出タブに取り付けられた導電性の接続ストラップと、
前記正極板の突出タブならびにそれに隣接する前記正極板、前記負極板および前記セパレータ層の上部の露出部分を被覆するキャップと
を含む電池。 - 前記キャップが接着性の樹脂を含む請求項14に記載の電池。
- 前記接着性の樹脂が、エポキシ樹脂、反応性アクリル樹脂および接合化合物からなる群より選択される材料を含む請求項15に記載の電池。
- 前記正極板および前記負極板が、鉛を少なくとも99%含む材料で形成される請求項14に記載の電池。
- 前記負極板の接続ストラップにはキャップがない請求項14に記載の電池。
- 前記ハウジングに収容された電解液をさらに含む請求項14に記載の電池。
