Description
特に、本発明の車輪支持用ハブユニットの製造方法の場合には、上記かしめ部を形成する前の状態での上記円筒部の内周面を、上記軸部材の一端側に向かう程その内径寸法が大きくなる方向に傾斜した部分円すい状凹面とし、且つ、上記かしめ部を形成すべく上記円筒部を塑性変形させる作業を、この円筒部のうちで、この円筒部の先端縁から、上記内輪の一端面と内周面との間に存在する面取り部よりもこの円筒部の基端側に寄った部分までの範囲を、局部的に加熱した状態で行なう。
従って、本発明の場合には、上記円筒部に損傷が生じるのを有効に防止しつつ、上記かしめ部の形成作業を効率良く行なえる。
従って、本発明の場合には、上述の様にかしめ部の形成作業を効率良く行なえるだけでなく、このかしめ部による内輪の抑え付け力を十分に確保できる。
従って、本発明の場合には、車輪支持用ハブユニットの部品点数を増やす事なく、転動体に付与した予圧を適正値に維持し易くできると共に、上記内輪に過大な内部応力が発生する事を防止できる。この結果、車輪支持用ハブユニットの組立作業を容易に行なえると共に、この車輪支持用ハブユニットの耐久性を十分に確保する事ができる。又、この車輪支持用ハブユニットの小型、軽量化も図り易くなる。
この様にすれば、上記かしめ部の形成後、このかしめ部が冷却されて熱収縮する際に、このかしめ部の軸方向に関する熱収縮代を上記内輪の一端面を抑え付ける力に変換できるだけでなく、このかしめ部の径方向に関する熱収縮代を、上記円すい凸面部を介して上記内輪の一端面を抑え付ける力に変換する事ができる。従って、この場合には、上記かしめ部による上記内輪の抑え付け力を、より十分に確保する事ができる。更には、上記かしめ部が上記円すい凸面部を抑え付ける事によって、このかしめ部から上記内輪に径方向内方に向く力が加わる為、この径方向内方に向く力により、上記かしめ部の形成時に円筒部から上記内輪に加わった径方向外方に向く力を緩和できる。
この様に傾斜角度θの値を規制する理由は、この傾斜角度θが小さ過ぎると、上記円すい凸面部を通じて上記内輪に加わる径方向内方に向く力を十分に得られなくなり、上記かしめ部の形成時にこの内輪に加わった径方向外方に向く力を緩和する効果が期待できなくなる為である。又、反対に、上記傾斜角度θが大き過ぎると、上記かしめ部の形成時にこのかしめ部に亀裂等の損傷が発生し易くなり、発生した場合には、このかしめ部による抑え付け力を十分に確保できなくなる為である。
その他、この様な車輪支持用ハブユニット1eを構成するかしめ部11の形成方法、並びに、この結果生じる作用・効果は、上述した実施例2の場合と同様である。

Claims (2)
- 軸部材の一端部に設けた小径段部に内輪を外嵌すると共に、この内輪の一端面を、この軸部材の一端部に設けた円筒部のうちこの内輪の一端面から突出した部分を径方向外方に塑性変形させて形成したかしめ部により抑え付ける事で、上記内輪を上記軸部材に結合固定している車輪支持用ハブユニットの製造方法であって、上記かしめ部を形成する前の状態での上記円筒部の内周面を、上記軸部材の一端側に向かう程その内径寸法が大きくなる方向に傾斜した部分円すい状凹面とし、且つ、上記かしめ部を形成すべく上記円筒部を塑性変形させる作業を、この円筒部のうちで、この円筒部の先端縁から、上記内輪の一端面と内周面との間に存在する面取り部よりもこの円筒部の基端側に寄った部分までの範囲を、局部的に加熱した状態で行なう車輪支持用ハブユニットの製造方法。
- 製造すべき車輪支持用ハブユニットが、内輪の一端面に径方向内方に向かう程軸方向に突出する方向に傾斜した円すい凸面部を有し、且つ、この円すい凸面部をかしめ部により抑え付けているものである、請求項1に記載した車輪支持用ハブユニットの製造方法。
