Description
また、ラジエータキャップが装着されるアダプタリングにリザーバタンクへの接続管が付設されているので、ラジエータキャップに設けられたプレッシャバルブやバキュームバルブにより、ラジエータ内の圧力に応じてラジエータ内の冷却水をリザーバタンクに送ったり、リザーバタンク内の冷却水をラジエータに送って、ラジエータ内の圧力を調整することができる。また、ラジエータキャップの上記弁機構が当接する弁座をアダプタリング内に設ける必要性から、アダプタリング内の開口を小さくしなければならないが、アダプタリングを別部材として上下配管部の上端に取付けるようにしたので、上下配管部の内径を大きくとることができ、ラジエータホースから流入する冷却水の流れ抵抗を増大させることがない。
管継手の一実施形態が示されている。
コネクタ部31から上方に延びる上下配管部32と、この上下配管部32の周壁から側方に延出されたラジエータホース取付け部33と、前記上下配管部32の上端部にアダプタリング34を介して装着されるラジエータキャップ35とを有している。コネクタ部31には、門型に屈曲されたワイヤーからなるストッパー36が取付けられる。
エンジンからラジエータに冷却水を戻す返送側のラジエータホース22を、ラジエータ20の冷却水導入管23に連結する際には、まず、ラジエータホース22の一端を、管継手30のラジエータホース取付け部33に差し込んで、図示しないホースバンド等で固定する。

Claims (3)
- ラジエータ用の管継手において、
ラジエータの冷却水導入管に連結されるコネクタ部と、
このコネクタ部から上方に伸びる上下配管部と、
この上下配管部の前記コネクタ部より高い位置から延出され、内燃機関からラジエータに冷却水を戻すためのラジエータホースに接続されるラジエータホース取付け部と、
前記上下配管部の上部に装着されたラジエータキャップとを備え、
前記上下配管部の上端に、リザーバタンクへの接続管が付設されたアダプタリングが取付けられ、このアダプタリングに前記ラジエータキャップが装着されており、
前記アダプタリング内に、前記ラジエータキャップの弁体が当接する弁座が、前記上下配管部の内径よりも小さい内径で形成され、前記上下配管部の内径は、前記アダプタリングの最大内径とほぼ同じ内径で形成されていることを特徴とする管継手。 - 平面から見たときの前記コネクタ部と前記ラジエータホース取付け部とがなす角度が90〜180°とされている請求項1記載の管継手。
- 前記ラジエータホース取付け部は、前記上下配管部の周壁から延出されており、前記ラジエータホース取付け部の基部に凸部が形成されていて、この凸部と前記上下配管部の周壁とによって、前記ラジエータホースが前記ラジエータホース取付け部に挿入されたとき、その先端位置を規制されるように構成されている請求項1又は2記載の管継手。
