Description
全てが油の潤滑剤は優れた潤滑性を有するが、生産速度が高速になった時には発生した熱の除去にエマルションを用いる必要がある。しかし、エマルションはまた時間の経過とともに劣化し、悪臭を放つためその使用は制限される。

下記文献の対象は極圧効果を有するスルファミン酸アミンの塩を含む潤滑剤組成物にある。
MSAは水中で安定であり、周囲温度で任意比率で水に完全に可溶である。MSAは腐食性がなく、水溶液中でH2Sを遊離しない。MSAは容易に生物分解され(28日間で100%分解)、環境にやさしい。MSAは潤滑剤配合物に極めて有利な極圧性を付与する。
R1NR2R3
(ここで、R1、R2およびR3はそれぞれ水素原子、1〜22個の炭素原子を有するアルキル、アルケニルまたはアルキルアリール基または(CH2-CH2-O)nH型のオキシエチル化基(nは1〜20)を表し、互いに同一でも異なっていてもよい)
R1NR2R3化合物の例としてはアルカノールアミン、特にモノエタノールアミン、ジエタノールアミンまたはトリエタノールアミン、エトキシル化アミンが挙げられる。R1が12〜22個の炭素原子を有する基で、R2およびR3が1〜10のオキシエチル化基を有する化合物が好ましいが、これらに限定されるものではない。
本発明の水溶性MSA塩は周囲温度で水中で完全に安定であり、濃縮または希釈した水性潤滑剤配合物を得るのに用いることができる。この配合物はH2Sを全く遊離せず、貯蔵が容易で、極めて優れた極圧性を有する。さらに、この配合物には腐食性はない。
濃縮物はMSAまたは水溶性MSA塩を10〜50重量%、好ましくは15〜35重量%含む。
本発明の極圧添加剤の効率は4ボール機でASTM 規格D-2783に従った4ボール極圧テストを複数回行って評価する。このテストは4つのボールでの負荷値から流体の極圧性(能)を評価する。すなわち、テスト流体中にある4つのボールの回転が阻止され、最上側の1つのボールが残りの3つのボールに互いに溶接される時の負荷値を下記の測定手順に従って求める:
1) 直径12.7mmの100C6スチールボール
2) 最上位のボールの回転速度:1500回転/分
3) テスト時間:10秒
4) 負荷を増加させる。
本発明の極圧添加剤の耐食性(能)は鋳鉄チップを被試験水性潤滑剤と下記の手順で接触させて評価する:
1) ペトリ皿の底に濾紙を敷き、被試験水性潤滑剤を5mlを入れ、その中に規格(ASTM D-4627)で決められた2gの鋳鉄チップを浸す。
2) 接触時間:周囲温度で2時間。
3) 濾紙に発生する錆が耐食力の指標である。評価方法は〔表1〕に示す。
実施例1
〔表2〕はテストした各種配合物の組成と極圧性をまとめたものである。これらの配合物はMSAまたは1:1水溶性MSA塩の希釈水性配合物で、5重量%の水溶性添加剤を含む。
これらの配合物は2回蒸留した水200mlを入れた300ml容のビーカー中で周囲温度で得られる。適量の純粋なMSAを緩やかな磁気攪拌下に徐々に添加する。次に、5重量%の活性物質を含む1:1塩が得られるような化学量論比で、苛性ソーダ(NaOH)、苛性カリ(KOH)、モノエタノールアミン(MEA)、トリエタノールアミン(TEA)またはエトキシル化脂肪アミン〔CECA社製のNORAMOX(登録商標)C2:2モルの酸化エチレンでエトキシル化されたコプラを基剤とするモノアミン、または、NORAMOX(登録商標)O2:2モルの酸化エチレンでエトキシル化されたオレインを基剤とするモノアミン〕を添加する。溶液は全て清澄かつ安定で、臭いはない。各組成物に対して4ボールテストを実施し、溶接負荷を求めた。
〔表3〕は本発明の水溶性MSA塩を含む2つの水性潤滑剤の極圧性および耐食性を示している。これらの組成物はMSAを過剰の苛性ソーダ(NaOH)またはモノエタノールアミン(MEA)で中和して調製した。水溶性塩の濃度は水中で5重量%である。各組成物は清澄かつ安定で、臭いはない。
Claims (6)
- 水溶性極圧添加剤を含む水性潤滑剤の存在下での金属の加工または成形方法において、
水溶性極圧添加剤がメタンスルホン酸(MSA)のアルカリ金属またはアルカリ土類金属の水溶性塩か、下記化学式を有するMSAを塩にする試薬の水溶性塩であることを特徴とする方法:
R1NR2R3
(ここで、R1、R2およびR3はそれぞれ水素原子、1〜22個の炭素原子を有するアルキル、アルケニルまたはアルキルアリール基または(CH2-CH2-O)nH型のオキシエチル化基(nは1〜20)を表し、互いに同一でも異なっていてもよい) - MSAの水溶性塩がナトリウム塩またはカリウム塩である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 上記化合物R1NR2R3がアルカノールアミンである請求項1に記載の方法。
- 上記化合物R1NR2R3がエトキシル化アミン(ここで、R1は12〜22個の炭素原子を有する基、R2およびR3はnが1〜10のオキシエチル化基)である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 水溶性のMSA塩をMSAと塩にする試薬とのモル比を1:1〜1:2にして得る請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 水性潤滑剤中の水溶性MSA塩の濃度が0.01〜20重量%である請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
