Description
Claims (17)
- マット仕上げの写真プリントを作る装置であって、
a)光沢仕上げ面を有する写真画像の上に透明な保護薄膜を形成してラミネート加工された光沢仕上げの写真を作るラミネータと、
b)前記ラミネート加工された写真が供給されるように配置された型押し器であって、前記ラミネート加工された写真を移動通路に沿って入口から出口まで移動させる手段を有する型押し器と、
c)前記移動通路の一方の側に配置された型押しローラであって、前記ローラは肌理が形成された外面を有し、前記透明な保護薄膜を前記型押しローラに選択的に係合させて前記薄膜に肌理を型押ししてマット仕上げすることによって、前記光沢仕上げの写真をマット仕上げに選択的に変更する、型押しローラと
を有する装置。 - 前記型押しローラはヒータを含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記型押しローラは、20°の反射率スケールにおいて40未満の値を生じるマット仕上げを提供する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記型押しローラから見て移動通路を挟んで反対側にある加圧ローラを更に有し、
前記加圧ローラは、前記型押しローラから離れた第1の位置と、前記型押しローラの肌理が形成された面に向かって押しつけられる第2の位置との間を選択的に移動可能であって、
前記加圧ローラが前記第2の位置に移動することによって、前記型押しローラを前記透明な保護薄膜に選択的に係合させて前記薄膜に型押しする、請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記加圧ローラが前記第1の位置に移動することによって前記移動通路を開いた状態で維持し、前記ラミネート加工された写真が自由に通過できるようにすることで、光沢仕上げの写真を作る、請求項4に記載の装置。
- 前記加圧ローラを前記第1の位置と前記第2の位置との間で選択的に移動させるアクチュエータを更に有する、請求項4に記載の装置。
- a)前記型押しローラに近づく方向、およびこれから離れる方向に移動するように支持されたレバーアームと、
b)前記レバーアームに担持された前記加圧ローラと、
c)前記レバーアームと係合し、これを前記型押しローラに向けて移動させるように選択的に動作するカムと、
を有する、請求項4に記載の装置。 - 前記型押しローラは中空部を有し、前記中空部内にヒータが配置されている、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記型押しローラは、肌理が形成された面を含む化学エッチングされた表面を有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記肌理が形成された表面は、少なくとも0.1インチ(約0.254cm)の高さを有する表面特徴を有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- マット仕上げの写真プリントを作る方法であって、
a)光沢仕上げ面を有する写真画像を用意し、
b)滑らかな表面を有する透明な保護薄膜を前記光沢仕上げ面に対し被せて、ラミネート加工された光沢仕上げの写真を作り、
c)肌理パターンを前記透明な保護薄膜に選択的に型押しして、ラミネート加工されたマット仕上げの写真を作る、
ことを含む方法。 - 前記型押しローラに、少なくとも0.1インチ(約0.254cm)の高さの表面特徴を有する肌理がある表面を設けることを更に含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記型押しローラを加熱することを更に含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記加圧ローラと前記型押しローラとの間に間隔を維持して、20°の反射率スケールにて60〜70を生じる光沢仕上げを有する写真を作り、前記加圧ローラおよび型押しローラを互いに向けて選択的に近づけることで、20°の反射率スケールにて40未満の値を生じるマット仕上げを有する写真を作る、請求項11に記載の方法。
- マット仕上げの写真であって、
a)光沢仕上げ面と、前記光沢仕上げ面に印刷された画像とを有する1枚の写真用紙を含み、光沢仕上げの写真を成す第1の層と、
b)前記印刷された画像の上に設けられこの画像上に広がる透明な保護薄膜を含む第2の層と、
を備え、
c)前記薄膜は、光沢仕上げの写真にマット仕上げの外観を成すために現場で作った肌理を有する外面を有する、
マット仕上げの写真。 - 前記マット仕上げは、20°の反射率スケールにて40未満の値を生じる、請求項15に記載のマット仕上げの写真。
- 前記光沢仕上げの写真は20°の反射率スケールにて60〜70の値を生じ、前記現場で作られたマット仕上げは20°の反射率スケールにて40未満の値を生じる、請求項15に記載のマット仕上げの写真。
