Description
Claims (17)
- キャリア周波数を有する受信信号から選択された信号を増幅する第1ゲイン段と、
受信され増幅されたキャリア周波数選択信号を混合して、ベースバンド選択信号を出力する復調ミキサと、
前記ベースバンド選択信号を受信して、インチャネル信号を予め定めたアンプリチュードに選択的に増幅する複数の追加のゲイン段を含むベースバンド増幅回路と、
前記第1ゲイン段の出力および前記複数の追加のゲイン段の出力を受信し、かつ前記第1ゲイン段および前記複数の追加のゲイン段のそれぞれを直接に制御するように1つのチャネルに沿って結合されたゲインコントローラであって、ダイレクトコンバージョン通信システムの予め規定されたトータルゲインを達成するため、前記チャネルに沿ったこれらすべてのゲイン段の各々に分配されたゲインを制御するゲインコントローラと
を備えたことを特徴とするダイレクトコンバージョン通信システム。 - 請求項1において、前記ゲインコントローラは、対応するリニヤリティの範囲において前記ゲイン段をそれぞれオペレートし、アンテナとベースバンドモデムとの間の前記チャネルに沿った前記すべてのゲイン段を制御することを特徴とするダイレクトコンバージョン通信システム。
- 請求項1において、前記ベースバンド選択信号の隣接チャネルの干渉は、前記複数の追加のゲイン段へ入力されたとき、パワーレベルがインチャネル信号より大きいことを特徴とするダイレクトコンバージョン通信システム。
- 請求項2において、前記ゲインコントローラは、前記ベースバンドモデムからの制御信号を使用して前記予め規定されたトータルゲインを受信することを特徴とするダイレクトコンバージョン通信システム。
- 請求項1において、前記複数の追加のゲイン段の最終ゲイン段から選択されたインチャネル信号をデジタル信号に変換するA/D変換ユニットと、
前記A/D変換ユニットから受信されたデジタル信号のゲインを検出して、制御信号を前記ゲインコントローラに出力して前記第1ゲイン段および前記複数の追加のゲイン段に分配されたゲインを制御するモデムゲインコントロール回路と
をさらに備えたことを特徴とするダイレクトコンバージョン通信システム。 - 請求項5において、前記ゲインコントローラは、トータルゲインを変化させることを示す前記制御信号を受信し、示されたトータルゲインの変化分を前記第1ゲイン段および前記複数の追加のゲイン段の各々に分配することを特徴とするダイレクトコンバージョン通信システム。
- 請求項6において、前記ゲインコントローラは、ゲイン段の少なくとも1つのゲイン段をリニヤリティ範囲内に調整することによって、トータルゲインを変化させることを特徴とするダイレクトコンバージョン通信システム。
- 請求項6において、前記ゲインコントローラは、アンテナに最も近いゲイン段を、調整することによって、トータルゲインを変化させることを特徴とするダイレクトコンバージョン通信システム。
- 請求項1において、前記ゲインコントローラは、2ステップゲインコントロールを実現し、第1の粗調整を、規定時間間隔において1回のみ、選択されたゲイン段において実現し、第2の微調整を、前記規定時間間隔と関係なく実現することを特徴とするダイレクトコンバージョン通信システム。
- 請求項1において、前記キャリア周波数を有する信号を受信するアンテナと、
前記アンテナに結合されたRFフィルタであって、受信された選択信号をフィルタリングするRFフィルタと、
前記複数のゲイン段の最終ゲイン段から選択された信号をデジタル信号に変換するA/D変換ユニットと、
前記デジタル信号を受信する離散時間信号処理ユニットと
をさらに備えたことを特徴とするダイレクトコンバージョン通信システム。 - 通信システムをオペレートする方法において、
キャリア周波数を有する選択信号を含む信号を受信するステップと、
少なくとも1つの第1のゲイン段で、受信した選択信号を増幅する第1の増幅ステップと、
前記増幅された選択信号の第1出力レベルを検出するステップと、
前記増幅された選択信号を復調混合して、前記キャリア周波数より低い周波数を有する復調選択信号を出力するステップと、
前記選択信号が予め定めた基準に到達するまで、複数のゲイン段において復調選択信号を増幅する第2の増幅ステップと、
前記増幅された復調選択信号の第2出力レベルを検出するステップと、
前記増幅された復調選択信号をデジタル化するステップと、
前記デジタル化された復調選択信号の信号レベルの増幅量を検出し、これに応じてゲインコントロール信号を生成するステップと、
ゲインコントロール信号と、第1出力レベルおよび第2出力レベルとに従って、前記受信した選択信号を増幅する前記第1の増幅ステップおよび前記復調選択信号を増幅する前記第2の増幅ステップにおいて1つのチャネルに対する前記ゲイン段のすべてのゲインを制御するために当該1つのチャネルに対する分配されたゲインを制御するステップと
を備えたことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項11において、前記復調選択信号を増幅する前記第2の増幅ステップは、前記選択信号を2回以上順次に増幅し、前記第1出力レベルおよび第2出力レベルは、パワーレベルであることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項11において、前記ゲインを制御するステップは、前記受信した選択信号を増幅する前記第1の増幅ステップと前記復調選択信号を増幅する前記第2の増幅ステップとのいずれかにおけるゲインの制御を、選択されたゲインステップサイズで行うことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項13において、前記選択されたゲインステップサイズは、アンテナに最も近いゲイン段で実現される増大のステップサイズおよび減少のステップサイズのいずれかであることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項11において、前記ゲインを制御するステップは、信号増幅に関連したリニア範囲外にあるゲイン段を調整するステップを備えたことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項15において、受信された選択信号をフィルタリングするステップと、
順次に増幅する最終ステップを除いて、順次に増幅するステップの各出力をローパスフィルタリングするステップと、
順次に増幅された選択信号をデジタル信号にA/D変換するステップと、
前記デジタル信号を離散時間信号処理するステップと
をさらに備えたことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項11において、前記通信システムは、セルラ電話と、携帯情報端末と、インターネットアブライアンスと、リモートコントロール装置と、ラップトップコンピュータのうちのいずれかであることを特徴とする方法。
