Description
〔関連出願〕本出願は、本発明の譲受人に対して譲渡され、2001年3月8日に提出された第09/800,669号の一部継続出願である。
Claims (7)
- 発光管の発光チャンバ内に充填ガスが密閉された高輝度放電ランプ用の発光管を製造する方法であり、前記充填ガスの圧力が、実質的に室温で1気圧より高く、前記方法が:
充填ガスの流れを前記チャンバ中に提供するステップであって、前記充填ガスが、少なくとも2つの希ガスを含むステップと;
前記チャンバを、前記充填ガスを構成する前記ガスの内の少なくとも一方の希ガスの氷点未満であり、かつ、前記充填ガスを構成する他方の希ガスの氷点より高い温度にまで冷却し、これで、前記ガスのうちの少なくとも一方の希ガスのある量が、前記チャンバ内でフリーズするステップと;
前記所望の量の希ガスが内部でフリーズしたら、前記チャンバを密閉するステップと;
を含むことを特徴とする高輝度放電ランプ用の発光管の製造方法。 - 充填ガスが、空気より重いガスである請求項1の高輝度放電ランプ用の発光管の製造方法。
- 前記充填ガスが、一方のガスとしてキセノンを他方のガスとしてアルゴンを含む請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 前記充填ガスが、発光管の開放管端部から前記チャンバ中に流れ込む請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記チャンバを密閉するステップが:
1つ以上の電極リードアセンブリを前記本体の開放端部中に位置付けするステップと;
前記端部を、内部に置かれている前記1つ以上の電極リードアセンブリの周りでシールし、これで、前記1つ以上の電極リードアセンブリの位置を固定するステップと;
前記発光管本体の前記発光チャンバを密閉するステップと;
を含む請求項1に記載の方法。 - 請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の発光管を製造する方法における球状チャンバと管端部とを有する発光管をシールする方法において、前記方法が:
(a)第1の電極リードアセンブリを第1の端部中に、制御された雰囲気を前記端部を介して通過させながらピンチシールするステップと;
(b)ガスを含む充填素材を前記チャンバ中に他方の管端部から挿入するステップと;
(c)第2の電極リードアセンブリを部分的に、取り外し可能通路の下部端内に位置付けするステップと;
(d)前記取り外し可能通路の前記下部端を前記他方の管端部にシール可能なように突き合せて、前記端部の実効長を延長し、また、前記第2の電極リードアセンブリを前記他方端部内に位置付けするステップと;
(e)十分な量の制御された雰囲気を前記通路と前記他方の管端部とを介して前記発光管中に通し、制御されない雰囲気をそれから実質的に除去するステップと;
(f)前記通路と前記他方の管端部とを前記制御された雰囲気で充填された状態に維持しながら、前記チャンバの温度を前記制御された雰囲気中の前記ガスの内の少なくとも一方のガスの氷点未満に下げて、ある量のガスを前記チャンバ中にフリーズするステップと;
(g)前記通路の上部端を制御されない雰囲気と連通させた状態に維持しながら、前記第2の電極リードアセンブリを前記他方の端部中にシールするステップと;
(h)前記通路を取り除くステップと;
を含む前記方法。 - 前記チャンバ中にフリーズされた前記ガスがキセノンである請求項6に記載の方法。
