Claims (5)
- 放電ディスプレイパネル、及び入力映像信号の各フレームの諧調データによって前記放電ディスプレイパネルを駆動する駆動装置を含む放電ディスプレイ装置において、
前記放電ディスプレイパネルの外圧に比例して各フレームの維持パルス数または平均信号レベルを増加させることにより各フレームの平均輝度が調整される放電ディスプレイ装置。 - 前記維持パルス数を増加させることにより前記各フレームの平均輝度が調整されることは、前記外圧に比例して各フレームの維持−放電時間が調整されることであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の放電ディスプレイ装置。
- 前記単位フレームが複数のサブフィールドに分割され、
前記サブフィールドそれぞれがリセッティング時間、アドレッシング時間、及び維持−放電時間を含み、
前記リセッティング時間で全てのディスプレイセルの放電条件が一定に設定され、
前記アドレッシング時間で選択されたディスプレイセルに所定の壁電圧が形成され、
前記維持−放電時間で選択されたディスプレイセルが放電を維持することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の放電ディスプレイ装置。 - 前記維持−放電時間で、
選択されたディスプレイセルに維持−放電パルスが交互に印加されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の放電ディスプレイ装置。 - 前記維持−放電時間で、
前記外圧に比例して前記維持−放電パルスの数が調整されることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の放電ディスプレイ装置。
