No.23, pp.3806-3808, December 4, 2000等で報告されている知見から容易に理解されよう。
& Allanheld, 1983から得たものである。
"Magnetism and Magnetic Materials", Addison Wesley Publishing Company
Inc., 1972から得られる。強磁性体の粒子サイズがある値より小さくなると、粒子の熱エネルギーが粒子内に存在する他のエネルギー(異方性エネルギー等)を上回るので、保磁力はゼロになる。この熱エネルギーは、既に磁化されている粒子の集合を自然に消磁するのに十分な高さを有する。このような粒子は、超常磁性粒子と呼ばれる。
2002でも説明されているように、主に安定化層からの有限な異方性エネルギーの寄与による。強磁性層について提案されている2層又は3層構造の場合と同様に、安定化層を利用する2層又は3層のシンセティックフェリ磁性構造を容易に実現できることは、図1及び図4〜図6からも理解されよう。第1〜第4実施例によれば、記録層に単層構造を用いる場合と比較すると、熱安定性及びSNRが向上する。
Claims (12)
- ベース構造と、
該ベース構造上に設けられ、記録層を構成するシンセティックフェリ磁性構造とを備え、
該シンセティックフェリ磁性構造は、非磁性スペーサ層を介して反強磁性結合している少なくとも下側磁性層と上側磁性層とを含み、
該下側磁性層は超常磁性層からなり、該上側磁性層は強磁性材料からなり、
該下側及び上側磁性層の磁気モーメントは、印加される外部磁界がゼロである残留磁化状態で反平行の向きとなっている、磁気記録媒体。 - 該シンセティックフェリ磁性構造は、該ベース構造と該下側磁性層との間に順次積層されている他の磁性層と他の非磁性スペーサ層とを更に含み、該他の磁性層は強磁性材料からなる、請求項1記載の磁気記録媒体。
- 該ベース構造は、基板と、該基板上に設けられ主に(002)結晶面を付与するシード層と、該シード層上に設けられBCC金属又はそれらの合金からなる非磁性下地層とを含む、請求項1又は2記載の磁気記録媒体。
- 該ベース構造は、該下地層上に設けられ主に(1120)結晶面を付与する非磁性Coを含有する中間層を更に含む、請求項3記載の磁気記録媒体。
- 前記超常磁性層は、硬磁性材料及び軟磁性材料からなる群から選択された材料からなる、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項記載の磁気記録媒体。
- 該下側磁性層は、用いられる前記超常磁性層に応じて0<t<10nmの範囲の膜厚tを有する、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項記載の磁気記録媒体。
- 該下側磁性層は、CoCrPtB,CoCrPt,CoCrTa,CoCrPtTa,CoCrPtTaB,CoCrPtBCuを含むPtを含有するCo合金からなり、Cr含有量は5at.%から40at.%、Pt含有量は8at.%から16at.%、B含有量は0から15at.%、Cu含有量は0から6at.%、そして残りがCoである、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項記載の磁気記録媒体。
- 該下側磁性層は、CoCrB,CoCr,CoCrTa,CoCrTaB,CoCrBCuを含むCo合金からなり、Cr含有量は5at.%から40at.%、B含有量は0から15at.%、Cu含有量は0から6at.%、そして残りはCoである、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項記載の磁気記録媒体。
- 該非磁性スペーサ層は、Ru,Rh,Ir,Cr,Mo,Nb,Ta,Cu,Re及びそれらの合金からなる群から選択された材料からなる、請求項1〜8のいずれか1項記載の磁気記録媒体。
- 該上側及び下側磁性層において、超常磁性粒子と強磁性粒子との間で反強磁性結合が存在する、請求項1〜9のいずれか1項記載の磁気記録媒体。
- ベース構造と、該ベース構造上に設けられ、記録層を構成するシンセティックフェリ磁性構造とを備え、該シンセティックフェリ磁性構造は非磁性スペーサ層を介して反強磁性結合している少なくとも下側磁性層と上側磁性層とを含み、該下側磁性層は超常磁性層からなり、該上側磁性層は強磁性材料からなり、該下側及び上側磁性層の磁気モーメントは印加される外部磁界がゼロである残留磁化状態で反平行の向きとなっている少なくとも1つの磁気記録媒体と、
該磁気記録媒体に対して情報の書き込み及び情報の読み出しを行うトランスデューサとを備えた、磁気記憶装置。 - 該磁気記録媒体の該シンセティックフェリ磁性構造は、該ベース構造と該下側磁性層との間に順次積層されている他の磁性層と他の非磁性スペーサ層とを更に含み、該他の磁性層は強磁性材料からなる、請求項11記載の磁気記憶装置。
