Description
本発明の第1実施形態に係る内燃機関について、図1から図4を参照して説明する。内燃機関は、図1に示すように、例えば自動車の往復型ガソリンエンジン1である。エンジン1は、シリンダブロック2とシリンダヘッド3とシリンダヘッドカバー4とを有している。
混合気の燃焼時間が短縮されて排出ガス中の未燃成分が増加することを防いでいる。同時に、排気弁52の開弁時期が遅角されることにより燃焼ガスがより膨張仕事に使われて排出ガスの温度が低下して排出ガス浄化触媒93の早期昇温化を妨げることを防いでいる。すなわち、排気弁52の開弁時期をエンジン1の冷態時または温態時に関わらず最適時期に保つことにより、排出ガス中の未燃成分を少なくすることができる。
本発明の第2実施形態について、図5を参照して説明する。第2実施形態は、第1実施形態でのエンジン1において、吸気弁51の開弁時期の初期設定時期が例えばピストン22の上死点よりもクランク角略3度遅角した時期に設定されており、閉弁時期の初期設定時期が例えば下死点よりもクランク角略63度遅角した時期に設定されたものである。

Claims (8)
- 吸気弁と、
排気弁と、
前記吸気弁と前記排気弁とを所定の時期に開弁および閉弁する動弁機構と
を具備する内燃機関において、
前記動弁機構は、内燃機関の温態時では、前記吸気弁の閉弁時期を内燃機関のピストンの下死点後とし、内燃機関の冷態時では、前記吸気弁の開弁時期を内燃機関の温態時の開弁時期よりも進角させて前記吸気弁の閉弁時期を内燃機関の温態時の閉弁時期よりも遅角させることを特徴とする内燃機関。 - 前記動弁機構は、内燃機関の冷態時では、前記吸気弁の開弁時期を前記ピストンの上死点前とすることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関。
- 請求項1または請求項2に記載の内燃機関において、更に、排出ガスを浄化する排出ガス浄化触媒を具備し、前記動弁機構は、内燃機関の冷態時での前記排気弁の開弁時期および閉弁時期を内燃機関の温態時での開弁時期および閉弁時期と同じとし、かつ前記排気弁の開弁時期を前記ピストンの下死点前とすることを特徴とする内燃機関。
- 前記動弁機構は、前記排気弁を駆動する排気側駆動部と、
前記排気弁と前記排気側駆動部との間のバルブクリアランスを0に保つ油圧式隙間調整機構と
を具備することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の内燃機関。 - 前記動弁機構は、前記吸気弁を駆動する吸気側駆動部と、
前記吸気弁と前記吸気側駆動部との間のバルブクリアランスを設定する固定式隙間調整機構と
を具備することを特徴とする請求項1から請求項4のうちいずれか1項に記載の内燃機関。 - 請求項1から請求項5に記載のいずれかの内燃機関において、更に、内燃機関の燃焼室で燃焼される混合気の空燃比を内燃機関の冷態時においてリーン状態にする手段を具備することを特徴とする内燃機関。
- 請求項1から請求項6に記載のいずれかの内燃機関において、更に、内燃機関の燃焼室で燃焼される混合気の点火時期を内燃機関の冷態時において遅らせる手段を具備することを特徴とする内燃機関。
- 吸気弁と、
排気弁と、
前記吸気弁と前記排気弁とを所定の時期に開弁および閉弁する動弁機構と、
排出ガスを浄化する排出ガス浄化触媒と
を具備する内燃機関において、
前記動弁機構は、前記吸気弁を駆動する吸気側駆動部と、
前記排気弁を駆動する排気側駆動部と、
前記吸気弁と前記吸気側駆動部との間のバルブクリアランスを設定する固定式隙間調整機構と、
前記排気弁と前記排気側駆動部との間のバルブクリアランスを0に保つ油圧式隙間調整機構と
を具備し、前記吸気側駆動部を介して前記吸気弁を開弁および閉弁して内燃機関の温態時では前記吸気弁の閉弁時期を内燃機関のピストンの下死点後とし、前記排気側駆動部を介して排気弁を開弁および閉弁して内燃機関の温態時では前記排気弁の開弁時期を前記ピストンの下死点前とし、内燃機関の冷態時では前記吸気弁の開弁時期を前記ピストンの上死点前とすることを特徴とする内燃機関。
