Claims (3)
- 複数群に分類された第1の電極と、前記第1の電極に交差するように設けられた第2の電極と、前記第1の電極と前記第2の電極との交差部に設けられた複数の容量性発光素子を含む表示パネルと、前記複数群で互いに位相差が生じるように、それぞれ前記複数群の第1の電極にデータパルスを印加するドライブ回路とを備え、
前記ドライブ回路は、第1の電源電圧を受ける第1の電源端子と、誘導性素子と、回収用容量性素子と、前記表示パネルの容量と前記誘導性素子との共振動作により前記回収用容量性素子から電荷を放出して第1のノードの電位を立ち上げ、前記第1のノードと前記第1の電源端子とを接続した後、前記第1のノードと前記第1の電源端子との接続を遮断し、前記共振動作により前記第1のノードから前記誘導性素子を介して前記回収用容量性素子へ電荷を回収して前記第1のノードの電位を立ち下げることにより、前記複数群の第1の電極にデータパルスを印加するための駆動パルスを前記第1のノードに印加する印加回路と、前記回収用容量性素子に回収される電荷の量を制限することにより前記回収用容量性素子の電位が前記第1の電源電圧よりも低い所定値を超えないように制限する電位制限回路と、前記第1の電極に印加されるデータパルスの立ち上がりの回数または立ち下がりの回数を検出する回数検出部とを備え、前記ドライブ回路は、データパルスの立ち上がり可能な最大の回数または立ち下がり可能な最大の回数に対する前記回数検出部により検出された前記回数の比率を算出し、前記比率が所定の比率値よりも大きい場合に、前記第1のノードの電位を所定の電圧値まで立ち下げた後、前記第1のノードを接地するように前記印加回路の動作を制御する制御部を含むことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 1フィールドを複数のサブフィールドに分割してサブフィールドごとに選択された前記容量性発光素子を放電させて階調表示を行うために、1フィールドの画像データを各サブフィールドの画像データに変換する変換部をさらに備え、前記回数検出部は、前記変換部から与えられる画像データに基づいて各サブフィールドごとの前記回数を検出し、前記制御部は、各サブフィールドにおけるデータパルスの立ち上がり可能な最大の回数または立ち下がり可能な最大の回数に対する前記回数検出部により得られた前記回数の比率を算出し、前記比率が所定の比率値よりも大きい場合に、前記第1のノードの電位を所定の電圧値まで立ち下げた後、前記第1のノードを接地するように前記印加回路の動作を制御することを特徴とする請求項1記載の表示装置。
- 複数群に分類された第1の電極、前記第1の電極に交差するように設けられた第2の電極および前記第1の電極と前記第2の電極との交差部に設けられた複数の容量性発光素子を備える表示パネルを含む表示装置の駆動方法であって、前記複数群で互いに位相差が生じるように、それぞれ前記複数群の第1の電極にデータパルスを印加するステップを備え、前記データパルスを印加するステップは、前記表示パネルの容量と誘導性素子との共振動作により回収用容量性素子から電荷を放出して第1のノードの電位を立ち上げ、前記第1のノードと第1の電源端子とを接続した後、前記第1のノードと前記第1の電源端子との接続を遮断し、前記共振動作により前記第1のノードから前記誘導性素子を介して前記回収用容量性素子へ電荷を回収して前記第1のノードの電位を立ち下げることにより、前記複数群の第1の電極にデータパルスを印加するための駆動パルスを前記第1のノードに印加するステップと、前記回収用容量性素子に回収される電荷の量を制限することにより前記回収用容量性素子の電位が前記第1の電源電圧よりも低い所定値を超えないように制限するステップと、前記第1の電極に印加されるデータパルスの立ち上がりの回数または立ち下がりの回数を検出するステップと、データパルスの立ち上がり可能な最大の回数または立ち下がり可能な最大の回数に対する検出された前記回数の比率を算出し、前記比率が所定の比率値よりも大きい場合に、前記第1のノードの電位を所定の電圧値まで立ち下げた後、前記第1のノードを接地するように前記印加回路の動作を制御するステップとを備えることを特徴とする表示装置の駆動方法。
