Description
まず、木炭自体が高価格であるという問題点があった。すなわち、木炭といえば、備長炭に代表されるように、需要がありかつ利益率の高いもの、ある程度の大きさがある塊状の広葉樹炭が主流であって、これ以外の炭は品数が少なく流通量も少なかった。換言すれば、燃料用途以外の検討がなされておらず、床下調湿材として使用する場合の木炭の好適化が図れていないという問題点があった。
第1に、木材品種の選択自由度が高く原木材管理が容易となり、
第2に、炭化したときの空孔が広葉樹より大きいので水分吸収能が高まり、
第3に、木炭粉が多く生じても通気性を好適に確保しつつ好適に外部飛散を少なくする。これにより、安価に供給でき作業性がよく床下使用により適した床下調湿材を提供することが可能となる。
なお、ここで長径とは、略棒状である木炭の最も長い部分の長さをいう。

Claims (5)
- 針葉樹由来の木炭のうち長径2mm〜20mmの略棒状の木炭の占める割合が全木炭中の70vol%以上であり、この木炭を、通気度が5cm3・(cm2・s)−1以上10cm3・(cm2・s)−1以下の、水に対して耐腐食性のある繊維素材からなる不織布で包んだことを特徴とする床下調湿材。
- 前記繊維素材が、ポリオレフィン系繊維素材またはポリエステル系繊維素材であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の床下調湿材。
- 前記木炭は建築廃木材または間伐材を炭化させたものであることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の床下調湿材。
- 前記針葉樹由来の木炭の固定炭素率が90wt%以上であることを特徴とする請求項1、2または3に記載の床下調湿材。
- 前記針葉樹由来の木炭のBET法比表面積が200m2/g以上であることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか一つに記載の床下調湿材。
