Abstract
【解決手段】 容器本体の上面に開設された開口部を閉塞する天蓋36に、少なくとも、エンジンを熱源とする熱媒体(エンジン冷却水)を循環させて液体還元剤との間で熱交換を行う熱交換器44と、液体還元剤から異物を濾過するストレーナ50と、を夫々取り付ける。また、ストレーナ50に、容器本体の内部から液体還元剤を吸い込む吸込管52を接続すると共に、異物を濾過した液体還元剤の供給口36Cを形成する。このようにすれば、ストレーナの全体が外気、特に、走行風に晒されることがなく、その内部に存在する液体還元剤の凍結を抑制することができる。従って、寒冷地であっても、尿素水溶液の凍結を抑制しつつ、その濾過の実効を図ることができる。

Description
エンジン燃料の配管途中にストレーナを介装する技術が公知であるが、この公知技術を排気浄化装置にそのまま適用すると次のような不具合が発生してしまう。即ち、北海道のような寒冷地では、排気浄化装置を搭載した移動車両が走行すると、ストレーナ全体が走行風に晒され、その内部の液体還元剤が凍結してしまうおそれがある。ストレーナ内部の液体還元剤が凍結すると、還元触媒の排気上流に液体還元剤を噴射供給できなくなり、排気浄化装置の機能を発揮することができなくなってしまう。また、還元剤容器の補充口にストレーナを取り付けることも考えられるが、その補充時に破損させる可能性があり、容易に採用し得る構成ではない。
請求項3記載の発明では、前記ストレーナは、前記天板に対して略垂直に取り付けられる略円筒形状のケースと、該ケースの上端部からその内部に着脱可能に挿入されるエレメントと、前記ケースの上端部に着脱可能に螺合されるキャップと、を含んで構成されることを特徴とする。
請求項5記載の発明では、前記エレメントは、その横断面を形成する輪郭の一部が内方へと凹んだ形状をなしていることを特徴とする。
請求項4又は請求項5に記載の発明によれば、エレメントの濾過面積が増加し、液体還元剤から異物を効率よく濾過することができる。
図1は、尿素水溶液を液体還元剤として使用し、エンジン排気中に含まれるNOxを触媒還元反応により浄化する排気浄化装置の全体構成を示す。
エンジン10の排気マニフォールド12に接続される排気管14には、排気流通方向に沿って、一酸化窒素(NO)を二酸化窒素(NO2)へと酸化させる酸化触媒16と、尿素水溶液を噴射供給する噴射ノズル18と、尿素水溶液を加水分解して得られるアンモニアによりNOxを還元浄化するNOx還元触媒20と、NOx還元触媒20を通過したアンモニアを酸化させるアンモニア酸化触媒22と、が夫々配設される。また、還元剤容器24に貯蔵される尿素水溶液は、その底部に吸込口が位置する供給配管26を介して還元剤供給装置28に供給される一方、還元剤供給装置28で噴射に寄与しない余剰の尿素水溶液は、戻り配管30を介して還元剤容器24の上部空間内へと戻される。そして、還元剤供給装置28は、コンピュータを内蔵したコントロールユニット32により制御され、エンジン運転状態に応じた必要量の尿素水溶液を、空気と混合しつつ噴射ノズル18に供給する。

Claims (5)
- 容器本体の天板に、少なくとも、エンジンを熱源とする熱媒体を循環させて液体還元剤との間で熱交換を行う熱交換器と、液体還元剤から異物を濾過するストレーナと、を夫々取り付け、前記ストレーナに、前記容器本体の内部から液体還元剤を吸い込む吸込管を接続すると共に、異物を濾過した液体還元剤の供給口を形成する一方、前記容器本体の内部においてストレーナと熱交換器とを金属板からなる連結部材で連結したことを特徴とする還元剤容器の構造。
- 前記連結部材は、前記ストレーナと熱交換器との間に閉塞横断面を形成する形状をなしていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の還元剤容器の構造。
- 前記ストレーナは、前記天板に対して略垂直に取り付けられる略円筒形状のケースと、該ケースの上端部からその内部に着脱可能に挿入されるエレメントと、前記ケースの上端部に着脱可能に螺合されるキャップと、を含んで構成されることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2に記載の還元剤容器の構造。
- 前記エレメントは、軸方向の先端部が基端部に向けて凹んだ形状をなしていることを特徴とする請求項3記載の還元剤容器の構造。
- 前記エレメントは、その横断面を形成する輪郭の一部が内方へと凹んだ形状をなしていることを特徴とする請求項3又は請求項4に記載の還元剤容器の構造。
