Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【産業上の利用分野】この発明は、二つ折されてロール
状に巻かれた包装用フィルムを引き出して商品を包み、
所定の箇所でそのフィルムを溶断及び溶着して袋状に形
成し、そのフィルムの開口部をシールする包装装置に関
する。
【0002】
【従来の技術】従来、二つ折された熱収縮性フィルムの
溶断溶着は、実公昭62−18429号公報に開示され
ているように、溶断刃を金属製のヒートブロックで挟持
し、ヒートブロックをパイプヒーターで加熱して、加熱
された溶断刃よりフィルムを溶断溶着している。また、
ヒートブロックの両側には、フィルムの溶断溶着時にこ
のフィルムを押さえるフィルム押さえが上下動自在に設
けられている。このフィルム押さえは、溶断刃等により
加熱されてフィルムを熱収縮させないために、溶断刃か
らある程度間隔を置いた位置に設けれている。従って、
商品を包んだフィルムを溶断溶着する際の溶断刃は、2
枚のヒートブロックの間であって、このヒートブロック
の両側にある一対のフィルム押さえどうしの間の中間部
でフィルムを溶断する。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】上記従来の技術の場
合、商品を包んだフィルムは、フィルム押さえどうしの
中間部に位置する部分で溶断されるため、商品に対して
フィルムが、内側のフィルム押さえから溶断刃が位置す
る部分まで余分に付加されて溶断されてしまうという問
題があった。しかもこれにより、フィルムを無駄に多く
必要とするばかりでなく、後に熱収縮させる際に、余っ
たフィルムが不均一に収縮し、収縮包装後のフィルムに
しわができてしまい、外観上好ましくないという問題が
あった。
【0004】また、フィルムを溶断溶着させる際には、
フィルム押さえと溶断刃との間隔はできるだけ狭い方が
溶断部の熱収縮等がなくきれいに溶断溶着できるが、こ
れが狭すぎると、フィルム押さえがヒートブロックや溶
断刃によって過熱してしまい、フィルム押さえの部分で
フィルムが熱収縮し、包装したフィルムの外観が極めて
悪くなってしまうという問題があった。
【0005】この発明は上記従来の技術の問題点に鑑み
て成されたもので、収縮包装に際して、収縮包装後の包
装形態の外観が極めてきれいであり、フィルムの無駄も
少なくすることが可能な包装装置を提供することを目的
とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】この発明は、ヒートブロ
ックの両側に一対のフィルム押さえを設け、このフィル
ム押さえの下端面近傍に、フィルム及びフィルム押さえ
を冷却するための空気吹き出し用透孔を有した冷却パイ
プを取り付けた包装装置である。また、この発明は、溶
断刃の位置を被包装商品側に偏心させてヒートブロック
に設け、フィルム押さえを溶断刃に近接して設けるとと
もに、このフィルム押さえを冷却する冷却パイプをフィ
ルム押さえ下端部に設けた包装装置である。

【作用】この発明の包装装置は、冷却パイプから吹き出
された空気によりフィルム押さえの下端部及びフィルム
を冷却し、フィルム押さえを溶断刃に近接させて設ける
ことができるようにし、溶断溶着後のフィルムの外観も
良好なものにするものである。

【実施例】以下この発明の一実施例について図面に基づ
いて説明する。この実施例の包装装置は、図1ないし図
3に示すように、シール装置1、商品搬送ベルト2、フ
ィルム送り3およびフィルム開口器4からなる。このシ
ール装置1がシールするフィルムは、図2に示すよう
に、熱収縮性のフィルム5を二つ折にして、ロール状に
巻取られたフィルムであり、そのフィルムロール6が、
フィルム送り3に取り付けられている。フィルム開口器
4は、直角二等辺三角形の案内板7、8と、これを保持
した一対の支柱9からなる。商品搬送ベルト2は、一対
の支柱9と案内板7、8との間に挿通されている。案内
板7、8は、商品搬送ベルト2に対して互いに平行に設
けられている。また、直角二等辺三角形の案内板7、8
の斜辺7a,8aが、商品搬送ベルト2の進行方向に対
して45度になるように配置されている。フィルム5
は、二つ折状態で案内板7、8の外側に開かれて、二つ
折のフィルムの間隔が広げられるとともに、その斜辺7
a,8aでフィルム5の表裏面が反転させられる。そし
て、フィルム5は、案内板7、8によって、商品搬送ベ
ルト2を挟んで、その進行方向へ、90度送り出し方向
が変えられる。
【0009】シール装置1は、L型に組まれたLシーラ
10と、Lシーラ10を保持した基枠11とを有し、L
シーラ10と対向する下方側の位置に、シール受台12
を有している。基枠11は、このシール装置1が取り付
けられている基台13に対して、図示しない回動軸を中
心として揺動自在に設けれている。さらに、基枠11に
は、図示しないリンク機構の一端が接続されており、こ
のリンク機構は、エアーシリンダ等の駆動装置に接続さ
れている。
【0010】Lシーラ10には、アルミニウム合金から
なるヒートブロック20と、このヒートブロック20の
間に挿通されたパイプヒーター21が設けられている。
パイプヒーター21の下方であって、ヒートブロック2
0の側面のうち、シール時に被包装商品側に面した側面
に、溶断刃22が、図示しないビス等で取り付けられて
いる。溶断刃22は、ヒートブロックの上記側面の一部
が切り欠かれてこの側面の他の部分と面一に形成されて
いる。また、ヒートブロック20の商品50と反対側の
側面が、下端面に向かって一部斜めに切り欠かれてい
る。
【0011】溶断刃22の先端は、ヒートブロック20
の下端面から下方に突出して設けられている。ヒートブ
ロック20には、その上端面に断熱材24を介して上板
25が取り付けられ、上板25の所定箇所に、連結片2
6が固定されて、基枠11と連結されている。パイプヒ
ーター21は、ニクロム線30が中心に設けられ、その
回りにガラス繊維31が充填されたものである。溶断刃
22は、熱伝導率の良いアルミニウム合金等の金属で形
成されており、その表面にはテフロンコーティングが施
されている。
【0012】Lシーラ10の両側面部には、一対のフィ
ルム押さえ35が取り付けられている。このフィルム押
さえ35は、ヒートブロック20の斜めに切り欠かれた
方の側面に対面したフィルム押さえ35の先端部も、溶
断刃22の方に向かって折れて形成されている。また、
溶断刃22と対面した側のフィルム押さえ35の先端部
も、わずかに溶断刃22側に折れて形成されている。通
常、フィルム押さえ35の先端端縁は、溶断刃22より
さらにその先端方向に突出して位置している。フィルム
押さえ35の上端縁には、保持片36が突出して形成さ
れており、基枠11の上面側に位置している接続部材3
7によって、一対の保持片36が、基枠11の両側で連
結されている。そして、接続部材37は、コイルバネ3
8及び支持枠40によって基枠11の上面に向かって付
勢されているとともに、コイルバネ38が圧縮する方向
に移動可能に設けられている。従って、フィルム押さえ
35は、コイルバネ38によって下方すなわち溶断刃2
2の先端よりさらに突出した位置にその先端縁が位置す
るとともに、相対的に上方に後退可能に設けられてい
る。
【0013】シール装置1の下方には、商品搬出ベルト
41が設けられ、さらに商品搬出ベルト41の先方に、
図示しないヒートトンネルが設けられている。そして、
商品搬出ベルト41の基端部を囲むようにしてシール受
台12が設置されており、このシール受台12の表面に
耐熱性のシリコンゴムの受け部46が設けられている。
シール受台12は、緩衝用のバネ48を介して支持枠4
9に支持されている。
【0014】各フィルム押さえ35の先端部には、空気
噴射用の透孔52が複数個形成された冷却パイプ54が
取り付けられている。この冷却パイプ54は、Lシーラ
10に沿ってL型に設けられ、その基端部は、図示しな
い圧縮空気源に接続されている。
【0015】以上の構成の包装装置の使用方法は、商品
50を商品搬送ベルト2に載せて装置を起動すると、二
つ折のフィルム5の間に商品50が侵入し、シール装置
1の下に商品50が来ると図示しないセンサーによって
自動的にシール装置1が作動し、フィルム5の開口部が
シールされる。ここで、フィルム5は、最初のシール動
作によって、図2に示すように、先端縁の開口部が封止
され、その後は、一方の側面部と後部が開口しているこ
とになり、Lシーラ10によってこの二方向の開口部が
動時にシールされる。
【0016】シール動作は、図1、図3に示すように、
エアーシリンダ等によりリンク機構を介してLシーラ1
0が、フィルム5に向かって降下する。この際、フィル
ム押さえ35が先ずフィルム5に当たり、フィルム5を
シール受け台12に押し付けながら、コイルバネ38の
付勢力を受けた状態でフィルム押さえ35は停止する。
しかし、基枠11は、支持枠40を介してさらにコイル
バネ38を圧縮しながらフィルム5に向かい、溶断刃2
2はフィルム5を押して受け部46に食い込むように圧
接し、シール5を溶断溶着する。この後、エアーシリン
ダ等の駆動装置が逆方向に作動し、Lシーラ10は退避
してシール作業が完了する。このシール動作中、冷却パ
イプ54の透孔52からは、空気がフィルム5及びフィ
ルム押さえ35の先端縁部に向けて噴射されている。
【0017】この実施例の包装用フィルム用断溶着装置
によれば、フィルム押さえ35を溶断刃22に近させて
設けているので、フィルム5が溶断時にしわになりにく
く、溶断面がきれいに仕上がる。また、フィルム押さえ
35を溶断刃22に近接させても、冷却パイプ54によ
り噴射される空気で冷却しているので、過熱することが
なく、フィルム押さえ35でフィルム5が収縮すること
はない。また、溶断刃22の位置がヒートブロック20
の被包装商品側の側面に設けられ、商品50とフィルム
5のシール位置とが近く、商品50を包んだフィルム5
のうち商品を包むのに必要な部分以外の余分なフィルム
の量を少なくすることができ、加熱して収縮させた際に
しわも生じない。
【0018】尚、この発明の溶断刃およびヒートブロッ
クの形状は、上記実施例に限定されず、適宜設定できる
ものであり、溶断刃をヒートブロックの中央部に設けて
もよく、偏心させても良い。また、溶断刃とヒートブロ
ックの両方が一体的に設けられたものでも良い。また、
シール装置は、Lシーラを用いたものの他いわゆるI型
のシール装置にも利用できることは言うまでもない。

【発明の効果】この発明の包装装置は、フィルム押さえ
の下端面近傍に、フィルム及びフィルム押さえを冷却す
るための空気吹き出し用透孔を有した冷却パイプを取り
付けたので、フィルムが冷却され、溶断時にしわになり
にくく、溶断面がきれいに仕上がる。また、冷却パイプ
でフィルム押さえを冷却しているので、フィルム押さえ
が過熱することがなく、フィルム押さえを溶断刃に近接
させて設けることができ、溶断部近傍でフィルムを押さ
えて、フィルムの収縮等を確実に防止し、きれいな溶断
面に仕上げることができるものである。また、この発明
は、溶断刃の位置を被包装商品側に偏心させて設けたの
で、フィルムの無駄が少なく、経済的に効率良く包装す
ることがで、しかも、収縮の際のしわも生じにくくする
ものである。

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 二つ折にされロール状に巻かれた熱収縮
    性フィルムを引き出して、その間に商品を配し商品の大
    きさに合わせて上記フィルムを切断して商品を包装する
    包装装置において、上記フィルムを溶断溶着する溶断刃
    と、上記溶断刃をフィルムの溶断溶着可能な温度に加熱
    するヒーターと、上記溶断刃に熱を伝えるヒートブロッ
    クと、このヒートブロックの両側に近接して設けられ、
    上記溶断刃の先端部よりわずかに突出して設けられてい
    るとともに後退可能に設けられた一対のフィルム押さえ
    とを有し、上記溶断刃は上記ヒートブロックの被包装商
    品側に偏心して設けられ、上記ヒートブロックの上記溶
    断刃が取り付けられた側とは反対側の側面が切り欠か
    れ、上記フィルム押さえの先端部が上記溶断刃に向かっ
    て斜めに折れて形成され、上記各フィルム押さえの下端
    部に、上記溶断刃と平行に長手方向に、圧縮空気を上記
    フィルム及びフィルム押さえ先端部に向けて噴射する複
    数の透孔が形成された冷却パイプを設けたことを特徴と
    する包装装置。
  2. 【請求項2】 上記溶断刃及びヒートブロックは、L字
    型に組まれてLシーラを形成し、このLシーラにより二
    つ折されたフィルムの2方向の開口部を同時に溶断溶着
    することを特徴とする請求項1記載の包装装置。
