Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、プラスチックフィルムバッグ等におけるジ
ッパーを開閉するスライダを有するプラスチック製の再
閉鎖可能の締結具、又はジッパーの改良の関する。より
具体的には、本発明は、ジッパーの端部を密封すべくプ
ラスチック製ジッパーの端部に設けられたジッパースラ
イダの一体型の端部ストッパを有する漏れ無しのプラス
チック製ジッパーを提供し、また、スライダをジッパー
の上に保持するストッパを提供するものである。
スライダを有するプラスチック製の再閉鎖可能な締結
具、又はジッパーは、当該技術分野にて周知である。こ
のプラスチック製ジッパーは、再閉鎖可能で且つ相互に
係止可能なリブ及び溝の外形要素の形態とされた一対の
雄型及び雌型締結具要素（リブ及び溝要素を開閉すべく
スライダと協働する）を備えている。プラスチックフィ
ルムバッグを製造するとき、これらの雄型及び雌型の一
対の外形要素は、バッグの口部に沿って伸長し且つ任意
の適当な方法にてプラスチックフィルムバッグの可撓性
の壁に固着されている。これらのジッパー要素は、かか
る壁の一体の周縁部分とすることがでお、または、これ
らの要素は、別個に押出し成形し、その後に、バッグの
口部に沿って壁に取り付けることができる。
漏れ無しのプラスチック製ジッパーを提供し、スライ
ダがジッパーの端部から滑り出るのを防止するため、従
来から、各種の手段が利用されている。その一つの手段
は、米国特許第3,259,951号に開示されている。その特
許において、対向する相互係止、又は係合ストリップ
は、端部にて相互に、恒久的に結合し、又は密封して、
別個のストッパ部材がこれらの部材の間で密封されて、
スライダが沿って長手方向に動くのを防止する。これら
のストリップは、一端にて切り欠いており、スライダの
分離部材を受け取り得るようにしてある。
スライダを備える別の漏れ無しのジッパーは、米国特
許第5,020,194号に開示されている。この特許におい
て、ジッパー構造体は、端部（ジッパーが閉じられたと
き、スライダが入る箇所）にて局部的にスリット、又は
切り欠きが形成されており、リブ及び溝要素が安全に相
互に係合して、漏れ無しの囲い物を形成する 米国特許第5,088,971号及び米国特許第5,131,121号に
おいて、ジッパーの両端にて、外形リブ及び溝要素の既
存の材料で形成された端部ストッパが開示されている。
該端部ストッパは、スライダの側部に係合するのに十分
な距離、ジッパーから横断状に突出して、スライダがバ
ッグのそれぞれの端部を経て、動くのを防止する。
米国特許第5,161,286号において、端部クランプがジ
ッパーの両端に配置されている。一対の端部クランプ部
材が、共に、可撓性のストラップ（ジッパーの頂部の上
方を伸長する）と、リベット（ジッパーの外形リブ及び
溝要素の下方にて対の端部クランプ部材、及びバッグの
側壁を貫通して伸長する）とにより、共に接続されて端
部クランプ部材をバッグに固着する。
米国特許第5,067,208号において、プラスチック製の
再閉鎖可能な締結具及びスライダは、端部クランプ部材
と、スライダが該スライダの軌道に沿ってその移動の閉
じ端部に達したとき、スライダを閉位置に拘束し且つ締
結具の雄型及び雌型要素を相互に係止した関係に保つ手
段とを備えている。
ジッパーに対する融着したプラスチック製の端部クリ
ップは、国際出願PCT/US94/06417に開示されている。プ
ラスチック製ジッパーの管状のプラスチック製端部スト
ッパーは、米国特許第5,405,478号に開示されている。
これらの出願は、本発明の出願の優先日の後に公開され
ている。
ジッパースライダに対する一体型の端部ストッパを有
する漏れ無しのプラスチック製ジッパーを提供すること
が望ましく、この場合、リブ及び溝の端部にて利用可能
である材料の容積は、端部クランプ部材を使用せずに、
一体型の端部ストッパを形成するのに十分であるのみな
らず、スライダ上に別個の指状体を受け入れるのにも十
分であるる。このため、相互に係止する要素がスライダ
の下方で安全に閉じて、漏れ無しのシールを形成するこ
とを可能にする。また、閉位置にあるとき、スライダを
閉鎖位置に保つ「拘束」効果を発生させる開口部を形成
することが望ましい。
本発明の一つの目的は、ジッパースライダに対する一
体型の端部ストッパを備えた改良に係る漏れ無しのプラ
スチック製ジッパーを提供することである。
本発明によれば、次のような構成とされた、熱可塑性
樹脂バッグ等に特に適したジッパースライダ用の、一体
化した端部ストッパを有する漏れ無しのプラスチック製
ジッパーが提供される。即ち、その長さに沿って伸長す
る分離可能な締結具手段を有する一対の可撓性のプラス
チックストリップであって、そのそれぞれのストリップ
に設けられて、相互に係止する再閉鎖可能なリブ及び溝
の外形要素を備え、そのストリップの各々が、前記リブ
及び溝要素に対して平行にこの長さに沿って伸長する外
形フランジ構造体を有する上記一対のストリップと、 上記再閉鎖可能なリブ及び溝要素を開閉させるように
前記ストリップに設けられた跨ぎスライダであって、フ
ランジ構造体の頂縁部に沿って動く後部を有する逆Ｕ字
形のプラスチック部材を有し、上記フランジ構造体、上
記リブ及び溝要素をその間に維持するため、下方に突出
する側壁を有する前記跨ぎスライダとを備え、 該跨ぎスライダが、上記後部から垂下し且つ前記フラ
ンジ構造体の間に挿入されて、上記リブ及び溝要素を開
放する分離具構造体を有し、 上記側壁が、スライダの開き端部から閉じ端部まで伸
長し、 上記側壁が、開き端部にてより広く離間され、リブ及
び溝要素が分離するのを許容し且つ閉じ端部にて共に十
分に狭く離間して、スライダをジッパーの閉じ方向に動
かかしたとき、リブ及び溝要素を押し付けて、相互に係
止する関係にし、 上記フランジ構造体、上記リブ及び溝要素が、上記対
のストリップの両端にて共に垂直に密封されて、ジッパ
ーを上記端部にて閉じ状態に保ち、ジッパースライダに
対する一体化した端部ストッパを提供し、 その頂部の下方で且つ上記リブ及び溝要素の上方で、
しかも上記端部ストッパの一つに隣接する位置にて、上
記フランジ構造体に形成された開口部を備え、 上記開口部の寸法が、上記スライダの開き端部にて上
記分離具構造体を受け入れ得るように設定され、これに
より、上記スライダが、ジッパーを閉じる方向に動かさ
れたとき、上記相互に係止するリブ及び溝要素が、上記
スライダの上記開じ端部により上記ストリップの長さの
全体に亙って閉じられ、 上記スライダの上記開き端部にある上記分離具構造体
が、上記開口部内に受け入れられ、このため、上記フラ
ンジ構造体にて上記相互に係止するリブ及び溝要素を開
いた状態に保つ効果が無く、これにより、上記ジッパー
からの漏れを防止するようにしたことを特徴とする漏れ
無しのプラスチックジッパーである。
好ましくは、上記のスライダの上記の後部から垂下す
る上記の分離具構造体は、逆Ｔ字形に略対応する縦断面
の形状であり、上記Ｔ字形の水平部分は、上記の開口部
内に受け入れられる端部を有するようにする。
望ましくは、このＴ字形の水平部分は、上記のスライ
ダをジッパーを開く方向に動かしたとき、上記スライダ
のＴ字形部分を上記の開口部から解放させる形状である
ようにする。
好ましくは、このＴ字形の垂直部分は、ジッパーの上
記の相互係止リブ及び溝要素が閉じたとき、上記のフラ
ンジの間の通常のスペースよりも薄い厚さであるように
する。
以下に添付画面を参照ししつつ、説明する。添付図面
において、 図１は、本発明に従って、熱可塑性バッグに取り付け
られたジッパースライダ用の一体型端部ストッパの部分
斜視図、 図２は、図１の線２−２に沿った断面図、 図３は、一体型端部ストッパに隣接するジッパーの閉
じ端部におけるスライダを示す、図１と同様の部分斜視
図、 図４は、図３の線４−４に沿った断面図、 図５は、ジッパーフランジの開口部内に挿入された分
離具構造体を示す、図３の線５−５に沿った断面図であ
る。
図１を参照すると、プラスチック製スライダ10と、本
発明による外形のプラスチック製の再閉鎖可能な締結
具、又はジッパー11とが図示されている。このスライダ
10及びジッパー11は、熱可塑性樹脂バッグ等に特に適し
ており、図１乃至図４において、スライダ10は、熱可塑
性樹脂製バッグＢの頂端部、又は開口にてジッパー11に
組み付けた状態にて示してある。このバッグＢは、例え
ば、ポリエチレン、又はポリプロピレン、又は同等の材
料のような任意の適当な熱可塑性材料で形成することが
できる。
このバッグＢは、底部にて接続された一対の可撓性の
プラスチックシート12、13（図２）により形成されてお
り、該バッグは、頂縁部を有し、一対の可撓性のプラス
チックストリップ14、15がその長さに沿って伸長する分
離可能なプラスチック手段を有しており、該手段は、ジ
ッパー11を形成し得るように、それぞれのストリップに
設けられたリブ及び溝要素16、17の形態による、再閉鎖
可能で且つ相互に係止する雄型及び雌型の外形要素を備
えている。これらのストリップ14、15は、別個に押出し
成形して、バックの口部又はストリップ14、15のそれぞ
れの側部に取り付けるか、また、バッグの口部と一体に
押出し成形してもよい。
これらのストリップ14、15はリブ及び溝要素16、17に
対して平行にその長さに沿って伸長する外形のフラン
ジ、又は軌道18、19を備えている。これらの外形フラン
ジ18、19は、顕著な深さを有している（その目的は、以
下に説明する）。これらのリブ及び溝の外形16、17は、
米国特許第5,007,143号に記載された型式のものとする
ことができる。
図１乃至図４から理解されるように、スライダ10は、
バッグＢの頂部にてジッパー11を跨ぎ且つジッパー11の
再閉鎖可能な締結具要素16、17を開閉させ得るようにさ
れている。該スライダ10は、分離具構造体９と、ジッパ
ー11に沿って動く、相互に係止し且つ相補的な構造体と
を備えて、単一片の成形プラスチックで形成することが
できる。この分離具構造体９は、ジッパー11と協働し、
以下により詳細に説明するように、スライダに対する自
然係止機能部分と、漏れ無しのバッグとを提供する。
該スライダ10は、分離具構造体９の構造を除いて、米
国特許第5,067,208号に開示されたスライダと同様の構
造とすることができる。該スライダ10は、例えば、ナイ
ロン、ポリプロピレン、ポリスチレン、デルリン又はAB
Sのような任意の適当な材料で成形することができる。
該スライダ10は、フランジ構造体18、19の頂縁部に沿
って動く後部20を有する逆Ｕ字形のプラスチック部材を
備えており、該プラスチック部材は、該フランジ構造体
18、19、及びリブ及び溝要素16、17をその間に保ち得る
ように突出する垂下側壁21、22とを備えている。これら
の側壁21、22は、その上端が後部部材20に枢着され、そ
の下端にて、スライダ10をジッパーの上に保つべく内方
に伸長する肩部21a、22aを備えている。これは、図２に
最も良く図示されている。図１に示すように、側壁21、
22は、スライダの開き端部10aから閉じ端部10bまで伸長
し、側壁21、22は、開き端部10aにてより広く離間され
て、リブ及び溝要素16、17が分離するのを許容し、ま
た、閉じ端部10bにて共に十分に狭く離間されて、スラ
イダ10がジッパーを閉じる方向に動かされたとき、リブ
及び溝要素16、17を押し付けて相互に係止する関係にさ
せる。該スライダ10は、後部20から垂下する分離具構造
体９（リブ及び溝要素を開くため、フランジ構造体18、
19の間に挿入されている）を備えている。
分離具９は、垂直部分9a及び水平方向9bを有する、逆
Ｔ字形に略対応した縦断面の形状をしている。分離具の
垂直部分9aの垂直寸法は、十分に大きく、水平部分9bを
フランジ18、19の頂部の下方から相当な距離の位置に支
持することができる。この目的は、以下に説明する。ま
た、垂直部分9aの厚さは、その長さの全体に亙って十分
に薄くし、このためフランジ18、19間の間隔を拡げない
（もしその間隔が広ければ、相互係止リブ及び溝要素1
6、17が開いてしまう）。フランジ18、19を拡げて、リ
ブ及び溝要素16、17を開ける効果のある分離具構造体の
唯一の部分は、水平部分9bである。
図１から理解されるように、スライダの開き端部10a
における分離具の部分9bは、十分に幅が広く、そのた
め、フランジ18、19を拡げて、リブ及び溝要素16、17を
開けることができる。図２に図示した図１の部分は、分
離具の水平方向9bの両端の中間の位置である。図２に示
したその部分において、部分9bの幅は十分に狭小で、フ
ランジ18、19がより接近して、相互に係止する要素16、
17を閉じることができる。図１から理解されるように、
スライダ10の左側に対するジッパーの端部は、分離具の
水平方向9bにより開いた状態に保たれる。
上述のように、ストリップ１、15上におけるフランジ
構造体18、19は、図１に示すように相当な深さを有して
いる。この目的は二つある。第一に、分離具の水平部分
9bを受け入れる開口部18a、19aを形成するのに十分な面
積を提供することである。第二に、十分なプラスチック
材料を提供し、フランジ18、19、リブ及び溝要素16、17
を対のストリップの端部にて共に垂直方向に密封したと
き、ジッパー11がその端部で閉じた状態に保たれ、ま
た、ジッパースライドに対して一体化した端部ストッパ
23を提供することである。ストリップの両端におけるフ
ランジ構造体、リブ及び溝要素も共に垂直方向に密封さ
れて、スライダに対するジッパーの他端にて一体化した
端部ストッパを提供する。開口部18a、19aは、フランジ
構造体18、19内に形成され、また、その頂部の下方で且
つ端部ストッパ23に隣接してリブ及び溝要素16、17の下
方に配置されている。開口部18a、19aは、図３のスライ
ダ10の開き端部10aにて分離具部分9bを受け入れ得る寸
法とされ、これにより、スライダ10をジッパーの閉じ方
向に動かしたとき、相互に係止するリブ及び溝要素16、
17はストリップ14、15の長さの全体に亙って、スライダ
の閉じ端部10bによって閉じられ、また、スライダの開
き端部における分離具部分9bが開口部18a、19a内に受け
入れられる。このことは、図３乃至図５に最も良く示し
てある。分離具部分9bは開口部18a、19a内に伸長するた
め、この部分は、フランジ構造体18、19にて相互係止す
るリブ及び溝要素16、17を開き状態に保つ効果がなく、
これにより、ジッパーを通じて漏れるのを防止する。
図５を参照すると、分離具部分9bは、フランジ18、19
の開口部18a、19a内でジッパーの端部に配置されている
のが理解されよう。このように、スライダ10はジッパー
11に対して完全に閉じた位置にある。分離具構造体９を
開口部18a、19aから解放させ易くするため、部分9bの前
端は、スライダ10をジッパーの上で開き方向に動かした
とき、フランジ18、19を分離させ易いように、曲線状に
し、又は面取りした、符号9cで示す形状としてある。こ
のように、開口部18a、19aは、閉じた位置にあるとき、
スライダに対して「拘束」効果を生じさせる。
米国特許第5,067,208号及び米国特許第5,161,286号に
おいて、バックが漏れ無しであるのを確実にするため、
ジッパーの両端に追加の端部クランプ又はクリップが使
用されている。こうした適用例において、フランジの各
々は、高さが約1.5mm（0.6インチ）であり、これらのフ
ランジは相互係止要素の各々の上方に配置されている。
相互係止要素は、フランジの間を下方に約1.3mm（0.5イ
ンチ）伸長するスライダ上の分離具の指状体により、開
放される。
本発明において、各フランジ18、19の高さは12.7mm
（0.5インチ）まで増大し、スライダ分離具構造体９の
深さは12.7mm（0.5インチ）まで増大し、フランジの開
口部18a、19a内に受け入れられるように底部9bにて拡げ
られている。フランジ18、19の高さを増すことにより、
ジッパーの両端にて一体化した端部ストッパシール23を
形成するためその内部に十分なプラスチック材料が得ら
れる。こうした端部シール23は、米国特許第5,067,208
号及び米国特許第5,161,286号に開示されたような追加
的な端部クリップ又はクランプを必要とせずに、ジッパ
ーの両端にて漏れ無しの閉鎖状態を提供する。米国特許
第5,067,208号及び米国特許第5,020,194号に開示された
ような切欠き、又はスリットと異なり、フランジに開口
部18a、19aを使用することは、端部シールに隣接する位
置でフランジ構造体の完全性を保ち（即ち、図１に示す
ように、開口部18a、19aの四辺が全てフランジ構造体1
8、19により囲まれていて、フランジ構造体の外方に向
かって開放された部分かなく）、それにより、ジッパー
の漏れ無しの閉鎖状態を確実にするのに役立つ。側部シ
ール23及び伸長した分離具構造体９は、バッグの両端に
てスライダ10に対する端部ストッパを提供する。
本発明は、従来技術に優る多数の利点がある。例え
ば、製造時、余分なプラスチックの最終スクラップのコ
ストが解消され、熱密封工程が不要となり、また、プラ
スチック端部ストラップを施すためのステーションが解
消される。バッグ製造機械を通じてバッグウェブを動か
す間、表裏合せはそれほど厳密でなくなり、また、仕上
げバッグの外観も改善される。
本発明の好適な実施の形態を説明し且つ図示したが、
請求の範囲の記載の範囲内で、更なる変形例が具体的可
能であることを理解すべきである。

Claims (4)

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】熱可塑性樹脂バッグ等に特に適したジッパ
    ースライダ用の、一体化した端部ストッパを有する漏れ
    無しのプラスチック製ジッパーにして、 その長さに沿って伸長する分離可能な締結具手段を有す
    る一対の可撓性プラスチックのストリップであって、前
    記ストリップの各々に設けられていて相互に係止する再
    閉鎖可能なリブ及び溝要素を備え、前記ストリップの各
    々が前記リブ及び溝要素に対して平行にその長さに沿っ
    て伸長するフランジ構造体を有する、前記一対のストリ
    ップと、 前記再閉鎖可能なリブ及び溝要素を開閉させるように前
    記ストリップに設けられた跨ぎスライダであって、フラ
    ンジ構造体の頂縁部に沿って動く後部を有する逆Ｕ字形
    のプラスチック部材を有し、前記フランジ構造体、前記
    リブ及び溝要素を間に維持するため、下方に突出する側
    壁を有する前記跨ぎスライダとを備え、 前記跨ぎスライダが、前記後部から垂下し且つ前記フラ
    ンジ構造体の間に挿入されて、前記リブ及び溝要素を開
    放する分離具構造体を有し、 前記側壁が、前記跨ぎスライダの開き端部から閉じ端部
    まで伸長し、開き端部にてより広く離間されてリブ及び
    溝要素が分離するのを許容し、且つ閉じ端部に共に十分
    に狭く離間して、跨ぎスライダをジッパーの閉じ方向に
    動かしたとき、前記リブ及び溝要素を押し付けて、相互
    に係止する関係にし、 前記フランジ構造体、前記リブ及び溝要素が、前記対の
    ストリップの両端にて共に垂直に密封されてジッパーを
    前記端部にて閉じ状態に保ち、前記跨ぎスライダに対す
    る一体化した端部ストッパを提供し、 前記ジッパーは更に、前記フランジ構造体の頂縁部の下
    方で且つ前記リブ及び溝要素の上方で、しかも前記端部
    ストッパの一つに隣接する位置にて、前記フランジ構造
    体に形成された開口部を備え、 前記開口部の寸法が、前記跨ぎスライダの開き端部にて
    前記分離具構造体を受け入れ得るように設定され、これ
    により、前記跨ぎスライダが、ジッパーを閉じる方向に
    動かされたとき、前記相互に係止するリブ及び溝要素
    が、前記跨ぎスライダの前記閉じ端部により前記ストリ
    ップの長さの全体に亙って閉じられ、 前記跨ぎスライダの前記開き端部にある前記分離具構造
    体が、前記開口部に受け入れられ、このため、前記フラ
    ンジ構造体にて前記相互に係止するリブ及び溝要素を開
    いた状態に保つ効果がなく、これにより、前記ジッパー
    からの漏れを防止するようにしたことを特徴とする漏れ
    無しのプラスチック製ジッパー。
  2. 【請求項２】請求項１に記載の漏れ無しのプラスチック
    製ジッパーにして、前記跨ぎスライダの前記後部から垂
    下する前記分離具構造体が、逆Ｔ字形に略対応する縦断
    面の形状を有し、該Ｔ字形の水平部分が前記開口部に受
    け入れ得るようにされたその端部を有することを特徴と
    する漏れ無しのプラスチック製ジッパー。
  3. 【請求項３】請求項２に記載の漏れ無しのプラスチック
    製ジッパーにして、前記Ｔ字形の前記水平部分は、前記
    跨ぎスライダがジッパーの開け方向に動かされたとき、
    前記跨ぎスライダの前記Ｔ字形部分を前記開口部から解
    放させ易くするように、先細りのないしは曲線状の形状
    とされた部分を有することを特徴とする漏れ無しプラス
    チック製ジッパー。
  4. 【請求項４】請求項２又は請求項３に記載の漏れ無しの
    プラスチック製ジッパーにして、前記Ｔ字形の垂直部分
    が、前記ジッパーの相互に係止される前記リブ及び溝要
    素ぎ閉じられたとき、前記フランジ構造体間の通常の間
    隔よりも薄い厚さを有することを特徴とする漏れ無しの
    プラスチック製ジッパー。
