Abstract
Description
[0001]本開示は、概して、嚥下困難(dysphagia)などの嚥下障害を有する個体の水分補給を改善するための組成物及び方法に関する。より詳細には、本開示は、唾液分泌促進剤(salivating agent)、冷涼剤(cooling agent)及び場合により辛味剤(tingling agent)を含む組成物を、嚥下困難を有する個体に投与することに関する。
[0009]嚥下困難を有する高齢者に関する研究によれば、全ての症例で液体摂取が不十分であることが特定された。嚥下困難などの嚥下障害を有する患者は、液体、特にとろみをつけた液体の摂取が不十分であるために、特に脱水のリスクを有する。液体のとろみを増すと、1日の液体摂取目標量(Cichero 2013)と比較して摂取を減少させる。従来のケアでは、嚥下困難患者の39%が脱水を起こす可能性がある(Botella 2002)。
[0045]本明細書に記載するすべてのパーセンテージは、別途記載のない限り組成物の総重量によるものである。pHについての参照がなされるとき、値は標準的な装置により25℃にて測定されるpHに相当する。ここでの粘度は全て、25℃及びせん断速度50s-1で取得した値である。
[0087]下記の表は、嚥下困難を有する個体に投与される、及び/又は摂取されるゲル化された水であるレディ・トゥ・ドリンク飲料を製造するために使用することができる配合物を示す。

嚥下困難などの嚥下障害を有する個体において脱水を処置又は予防する方法であって、前記個体に、唾液分泌促進剤及び冷涼剤を含む組成物を有効量投与するステップを含む、方法。

嚥下困難を有する個体において脱水を処置又は予防する方法であって、前記個体に、唾液分泌促進剤と冷涼剤を1:0.06~1:0.2の重量比で含む組成物を有効量投与するステップを含む、方法。

前記唾液分泌促進剤が、アジピン酸、アスコルビン酸、クエン酸、フマル酸、乳酸、リンゴ酸及び酒石酸からなる群から選択される1種以上の有機酸である、[1]又は[2]に記載の方法。

前記冷涼剤が、メントール誘導体化合物、非環式カルボキサミド、環式カルボキサミド、N-置換パラメンタンカルボキサミド、ホスフィンオキシド、置換p-メンタン、メントキシプロパン、α-ケトエナミン誘導体、N-置換p-メンタンカルボキサミド、メンチル半酸エステル誘導体、クベボール及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、[1]又は[2]に記載の方法。

Claims (16)
- 嚥下困難を有する個体において脱水を処置又は予防するための組成物であって、唾液分泌促進剤及び冷涼剤を1:0.06~1:0.2の重量比で含み、
前記唾液分泌促進剤が、アジピン酸、アスコルビン酸、クエン酸、フマル酸、乳酸、リンゴ酸及び酒石酸からなる群から選択される1種以上の有機酸であり、
前記組成物が辛味剤を更に含み、
前記辛味剤が、スピラントール、サンショオールI、サンショオールII、サンショアミド、シャビシン、ピペリン、エキナセア抽出物、アメリカサンショウ抽出物、赤トウガラシオレオレジン、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択され、
前記組成物が飲料であり、
前記飲料が、前記唾液分泌促進剤及び前記冷涼剤を前記飲料の少なくとも3.0重量%の総量で含む、組成物。 - 前記冷涼剤が、メントールカルボキサミド化合物、非環式カルボキサミド、環式カルボキサミド、N-置換パラメンタンカルボキサミド、ホスフィンオキシド、置換p-メンタン、メントキシプロパン、クベボール及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記組成物が、増粘剤及び/又は凝集剤を含む、請求項1又は2に記載の組成物。
- 前記増粘剤が、キサンタンガム、グアーガム、カラギーナン、天然デンプン、加工デンプンからなる群から選択される、請求項3に記載の組成物。
- 前記凝集剤が、植物性ハイドロコロイド、微生物ハイドロコロイド、動物性ハイドロコロイド、藻類ハイドロコロイド、及びこれらの混合物から選択される、請求項3又は4に記載の組成物。
- 前記凝集剤が植物性ハイドロコロイドであり、前記植物性ハイドロコロイドがβグルカンである、請求項5に記載の組成物。
- 前記個体が脱水を起こしている、請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 前記個体が脱水のリスクを有する、請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 前記個体が、高齢の個体;糖尿病、認知症、発熱、下痢、嘔吐、ウイルス性胃腸炎又は細菌性胃腸炎のうちの1つ以上を有する個体;高地に住む個体;化学療法又は放射線療法を受けている患者及びこれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項1~8のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 嚥下困難を有する個体の水分補給を改善するための飲料を調製するための組成物を製造する方法であって、唾液分泌促進剤、冷涼剤及び辛味剤を、増粘剤又は凝集剤に添加するステップを含み、
前記唾液分泌促進剤が、アジピン酸、アスコルビン酸、クエン酸、フマル酸、乳酸、リンゴ酸及び酒石酸からなる群から選択される1種以上の有機酸であり、
前記辛味剤が、スピラントール、サンショオールI、サンショオールII、サンショアミド、シャビシン、ピペリン、エキナセア抽出物、アメリカサンショウ抽出物、赤トウガラシオレオレジン、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択され、
前記唾液分泌促進剤と前記冷涼剤が、1:0.06~1:0.2の重量比であり、
前記飲料が、前記唾液分泌促進剤及び前記冷涼剤を前記飲料の少なくとも3.0重量%の総量で含む、方法。 - 前記組成物が、前記唾液分泌促進剤、前記冷涼剤、前記辛味剤及び前記増粘剤又は前記凝集剤を含む塊状粉末である、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記塊状粉末をサッシェに包装するステップを含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記飲料が、前記唾液分泌促進剤、前記冷涼剤、前記辛味剤及び前記増粘剤又は前記凝集剤を含む粉末を液体で再構成することによって、摂取時に形成される飲料である、請求項10~12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 1:0.06~1:0.2の重量比の、唾液分泌促進剤と冷涼剤;
辛味剤;
増粘剤又は凝集剤;並びに
水、
を含む、嚥下困難を有する個体において脱水を処置又は予防するためのレディ・トゥ・ドリンク飲料であって、
前記唾液分泌促進剤が、アジピン酸、アスコルビン酸、クエン酸、フマル酸、乳酸、リンゴ酸及び酒石酸からなる群から選択される1種以上の有機酸であり、
前記辛味剤が、スピラントール、サンショオールI、サンショオールII、サンショアミド、シャビシン、ピペリン、エキナセア抽出物、アメリカサンショウ抽出物、赤トウガラシオレオレジン、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択され、
前記唾液分泌促進剤及び前記冷涼剤を前記飲料の少なくとも3.0重量%の総量で含む、
レディ・トゥ・ドリンク飲料。 - 部分加水分解グアーガムを更に含む、請求項14に記載のレディ・トゥ・ドリンク飲料。
- 嚥下困難を有する個体において脱水を処置又は予防するための飲料を調製するためのキットであって、
唾液分泌促進剤、冷涼剤及び辛味剤を含む組成物と、増粘剤又は凝集剤と、を含むサッシェ
を含む、キットであって、
前記唾液分泌促進剤が、アジピン酸、アスコルビン酸、クエン酸、フマル酸、乳酸、リンゴ酸及び酒石酸からなる群から選択される1種以上の有機酸であり、
