Abstract
Description
以下の試験方法が下記の実施例において使用された。
参照例1に指定された紙は、100%PPD−T/PVPフィブリルから作製された。フィブリルは、0mlのカナダ標準濾水度及び13.8m2/gの乾燥後の比表面積を有した。PPD−T/PVPフィブリルは、87重量パーセントのPPD−T及び13重量パーセントのPVPからなった。紙は、フィブリルを水中に分散させてスラリーを形成することから調製された。スラリーを混合してそれを作製し、水性分散液を8リットルの水とともに21×21cmのハンドシート(hand−sheet)の型に注ぎ、湿式敷設されたシートを形成した。次いで、ハンドシートを取り出し、2枚の吸い取り紙間に置き、綿棒を用いて手でカウチし(hand couched)、ハンドシート乾燥機において150℃で10分間乾燥させた。同様の紙を、100%の市販のPPD−Tパルプ(Style1 F361、DuPont Co.,Wilmington,Delawareから入手可能)である100%の従来のPPD−Tパルプから作製した。パルプは、260mlのカナダ標準濾水度、9m2/gの乾燥後の比表面積を有し、比較例Aに指定された。加えて、同様の紙が100%PPD−Tマイクロパルプから作製され、米国特許出願公開第2016/0362525号明細書及び米国特許出願公開第2017/0204258号明細書に記載されているように作製され、この紙は、比較例Bに指定された。
3つの異なるアラミド紙をPPD−T/PVPフィブリル及びMPD−Iフィブリドから作製した。フィブリルは、0mlのカナダ標準濾水度及び13.8m2/gの乾燥後の比表面積を有した。PPD−T/PVPフィブリルは、87重量パーセントのPPD−T及び13重量パーセントのPVPからなり、約2000の平均の長さ対直径比を有した。それぞれの紙は、フィブリル及びフィブリドの水性分散液から調製されてスラリーを形成した。これらのスラリーを混合して、表4に示すようにフィブリルとフィブリドとのブレンド比を作成した。水性分散液を8リットルの水とともに21×21cmのハンドシートの型に注ぎ、湿式敷設されたシートを形成した。次いで、それぞれのハンドシートを取り出し、2枚の吸い取り紙間に置き、綿棒を用いて手でカウチし、ハンドシート乾燥機において150℃で10分間乾燥させた。得られた紙の構造の特性を表4に記載する。
比較の紙のハンドシートは、実施例1の手順を使用して作製されたが、PPD−T/PVPフィブリルは、100%の市販のPPD−Tパルプ(Style 1F361、DuPont Co.,Wilmington,Delawareから入手可能)に置き換えられた。パルプは、260mlのカナダ標準濾水度、9m2/gの乾燥後の比表面積を有し、平均の長さ対直径比は、約83であった。これらの比較の紙の特性を表5に示す。
これは、PPD−T/PVPフィブリルを含む紙の可燃性性能を例示している。実施例1の手順に従って2つの紙が作製されたが、いずれの紙も坪量が高く、名目5オンス/ヤード2(175グラム/メートル2)であった。第1の紙(実施例4)は、100%PPD−T/PVPフィブリルから作製した。PPD−T/PVPフィブリルは、0mlのカナダ標準濾水度及び13.8m2/gの乾燥後の比表面積を有した。PPD−T/PVPフィブリルは、87重量パーセントのPPD−T及び13重量パーセントのPVPからなった。第2の紙(比較例H)を、カット長6.4mm(0.25インチ)を有するPPD−Tフロックから作製した。
Claims (6)
- 電気化学セルにおけるセパレーター紙として使用するのに適した紙であって、唯一の繊維成分として、
a)95〜100重量パーセントのフィブリルと、
b)0〜5重量パーセントのアラミドフィブリドと
を含み、
10〜40マイクロメートルの厚さ及び少なくとも15メガパスカル以上の引張り強度を有し、
前記フィブリルは、80〜96重量パーセントのポリパラフェニレンテレフタルアミドと、4〜20重量パーセントのポリビニルピロリドンとのポリマーブレンドを含み、
前記フィブリルは、
i)10〜2000ナノメートルの直径、
ii)0.2〜3ミリメートルの長さ、
iii)3〜40平方メートル/グラムの比表面積、及び
iv)0〜10ミリリットルのカナダ標準濾水度
を有する、紙。 - 100メガパスカル以下の引張り強度を有する、請求項1に記載の紙。
- 50メガパスカル以下の引張り強度を有する、請求項2に記載の紙。
- 0.05〜0.5マイクロメートルの平均流動孔径を有する、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の紙。
- 前記フィブリルは、10〜1200ナノメートルの直径を有する、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の紙。
- 請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の紙を含む電気化学セル。
