本明細書の一実施態様において、前記保護フィルムは、偏光子を支持および保護するためのもので、当該技術分野で一般的に知られている多様な材質の保護フィルム、例えば、ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET、polyethylene terephthalate)フィルム、シクロオレフィンポリマー(COP、cycloolefin polymer)フィルム、アクリル系フィルムなどが使用できる。なかでも、光学特性、耐久性、経済性などを考慮する時、ポリエチレンテレフタレートを使用するものが特に好ましい。
本明細書の一実施態様において、前記偏光子は、当該技術分野でよく知られた偏光子、例えば、ヨウ素または二色性染料を含むポリビニルアルコール(PVA)からなるフィルムを使用することができる。前記偏光子は、ポリビニルアルコールフィルムにヨウ素または二色性染料を染着させて製造できるが、その製造方法は特に限定されない。本明細書において、偏光子は、保護層(または保護フィルム)を含まない状態を意味し、偏光板は、偏光子と保護層(または保護フィルム)とを含む状態を意味する。
本明細書の一実施態様において、前記偏光板は、表示装置パネルまたは位相差フィルムのような光学フィルムとの付着のために、保護層の偏光子に対向する面の他面に備えられた粘着層をさらに含んでもよい。
本明細書は、前述した偏光板を含む画像表示装置を提供する。
本明細書は、脂環式エポキシ環を1つ以上含む第1エポキシ化合物(A)と、前記第1エポキシ化合物(A)100重量部に対して、グリシジルエーテル基を1つ以上含む第2エポキシ化合物(B)110重量部〜500重量部、およびオキセタン化合物(C)5重量部〜85重量部を含む偏光板用接着剤組成物を提供する。
3,4−エポキシシクロヘキシルメチル−3’,4’−エポキシシクロヘキサンカルボキシレート(CEL2021P、ダイセル社製)100重量部に対して、ジグリシジルエーテル(LD−204)54重量部、および3−エチル−3−[(3−エチルオキセタン−3−イル)メトキシメチル]オキセタン(東亜合成のアロンオキセタンOXT−221)74重量部を混合して組成物を製造した。前記組成物100重量部に対して、光開始剤としてIrgacure250 3重量部、および光増感剤としてESACURE ITX1重量部を混合して保護層形成用組成物を製造した。
予め用意された延伸された偏光子(厚さ23μm、ポリビニルアルコール系フィルム、製造会社:日本合成社)の一面に、下記表1および表2に記載の組成および含有量を有する接着剤組成物を介して保護フィルム(ポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルム、日本の東洋紡社製)を積層した。前記偏光子の他面に、前記製造例で製造された保護層形成用組成物を塗布しラミネートした。その後、フュージョンランプ(Fusion lamp)を用いて、紫外線を照射することにより(照射条件:紫外線照射器:Fusion D bulb、照射時間:10秒以下、光量:1,000mJ/cm2)、接着剤組成物と保護層形成用組成物を硬化させた。この時、接着剤層の厚さは2μmであった。
<実験例1:接着剤層の貯蔵弾性率の測定>
実施例および比較例の接着剤層の貯蔵弾性率をテストした。
実施例および比較例の接着剤層の保護フィルムに対する剥離力をテストした。具体的には、実施例および比較例の偏光板を温度25℃、湿度50%の条件で2日間放置した後、幅20mm、長さ100mmに裁断して試験用試験片を用意した。Texture Analyzer装置(Stable Micro Systems社のTA−XT Plus)を用いて、剥離速度300mm/minおよび剥離角度90度で保護フィルムを剥離しながら剥離力を測定した。
接着剤層による偏光子のクラック成長抑制テストを進行させた。実施例および比較例の偏光板の製造時に、偏光子に人為的なクラックを誘発した後、高温で放置してクラックが成長するか否かを観察した。具体的には、前記実施例および比較例の偏光板の製造において、保護フィルムを偏光子に積層する前に、偏光子に100gの荷重で引っ掻いて偏光子に人為的なクラックを誘発し、残りの製造条件は同様にして偏光板を製造した。

実施例および比較例の接着剤層のガラス転移温度をテストした。
実施例および比較例の接着剤層と同じ組成を有する接着剤組成物に対して粘度変化率を測定した。粘度は、ブルックフィールド粘度計(Brook Field社製)を用いて、18番スピンドル(spindle)を用いて常温(25℃)で測定した。この時、組成物の量は6.5〜10mLが適切であり、光に長時間露出することを避けるために5分以内で安定化された数値を測定した。

Claims (15)
- 偏光子と、
前記偏光子の一面に直接形成された保護層と、
前記偏光子の保護層が形成されていない面に順次に備えられた接着剤層および保護フィルムとを含み、
前記接着剤層は、脂環式エポキシ環を1つ以上含む第1エポキシ化合物(A)と、前記第1エポキシ化合物(A)100重量部に対して、グリシジルエーテル基を1つ以上含む第2エポキシ化合物(B)110重量部〜500重量部、およびオキセタン化合物(C)5重量部〜85重量部を含む活性エネルギー線硬化型組成物またはその硬化物を含む樹脂層である偏光板。 - 前記接着剤層の温度区間−30℃〜160℃、昇温速度5℃/min、周波数1Hz、およびひずみ(strain)10%の測定条件下、80℃での貯蔵弾性率が700Mpa〜1,600Mpaである、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 下記一般式1を満たすものである、請求項1に記載の偏光板:

前記一般式1において、Pは、25℃で剥離角度90゜および300mm/minの剥離速度で前記接着剤層から前記保護フィルムを剥離しながら測定した剥離力を意味する。 - 前記偏光子は、高温クラック成長テストの結果、全体クラックの数(C1)に対する、光の漏れるクラックの数(C2)の比率が20%以下である、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記接着剤層のガラス転移温度が90℃以上である、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記接着剤層の80℃での熱膨張係数が130ppm/K以下である、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記接着剤層の厚さは、0.5μm以上8μm以下である、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記保護層の厚さは、4μm以上11μm以下である、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記保護層の偏光子に対向する面の他面に保護フィルムをさらに含まないものである、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記保護層の偏光子に対向する面の他面に備えられた粘着層をさらに含むものである、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載の偏光板を含む画像表示装置。
- 脂環式エポキシ環を1つ以上含む第1エポキシ化合物(A)と、前記第1エポキシ化合物(A)100重量部に対して、グリシジルエーテル基を1つ以上含む第2エポキシ化合物(B)110重量部〜500重量部、およびオキセタン化合物(C)5重量部〜85重量部を含む偏光板用接着剤組成物。
- 前記接着剤組成物全100重量部に対して、第1エポキシ化合物(A)が5重量部以上45重量部以下で含まれるものである、請求項12に記載の偏光板用接着剤組成物。
- 前記偏光板用接着剤組成物の硬化後の温度区間−30℃〜160℃、昇温速度5℃/min、周波数1Hz、およびひずみ(strain)10%の測定条件下、80℃での貯蔵弾性率が700Mpa〜1,600Mpaである、請求項12に記載の偏光板用接着剤組成物。
