Abstract
Description

(b) 乾燥重量基準で約0.1%から約20%の、約500ミクロン未満の平均粒子サイズを有するセラミック粒子またはセルロース粒子を含む非触媒性着火補助剤、
(c) 乾燥重量基準で少なくとも約5%の結合剤、
(d) 乾燥重量基準で少なくとも約5%のグラファイト、および
(e) 乾燥重量基準で少なくとも約25%の無機フィラー
を含み、
セラミック粒子がガラスバブルまたはセノスフェアである。

を含み、
セラミック粒子がガラスバブルまたはセノスフェアである、
細長い喫煙用物品。
本発明は、本発明を例示するために記載されている、以下の実施例によって一層完全に例示され、これを限定するものとして解釈されるべきではない。各実施例において、各燃料素子の着火性は、図1において記載されている一般的な規格の喫煙用物品に燃料素子を配置することにより、およびホルダー中に喫煙用物品を置くことにより決定される。これ以降、燃料素子は、設定時間(例えば、0.5秒、1.0秒など)、火炎に晒され、次に、喫煙用物品に約55mlの体積の一吹きが行われる。次に、燃料素子は、火炎から取り出され、15秒間を経過させる。これ以降、同じ体積の第2の一吹きが行われる。燃料素子が、第2の一吹きの間にオレンジ色/赤色に燃える場合、それは着火していると見なされる。同じ一般的な実験を繰り返し、各実験は、燃料素子が、第2の一吹きの時に着火したと見なされるまで、火炎への曝露の設定時間を徐々に長くして使用する。燃料素子が第2の一吹きの時に着火し続けている最低の設定時間を、着火可能時間として記録する。したがって、例えば、特定の燃料素子が、上記の試験に従って、0.5秒間、火炎に晒され、第2の一吹きの間、オレンジ色または赤色に燃えないが、1.0秒の火炎への曝露時間において、再試験した場合にオレンジ色または赤色に燃えた場合、この着火可能時間は、1.0秒と見なされる。
ミル粉砕炭素、結合剤としてグアーガム、炭酸カルシウムおよびグラファイトを含むいくつかの燃料素子組成物を形成し、非燃焼加熱式シガレットをこれらと共に構成する。各燃料素子組成物に着火するために必要な時間を測定し、市販のECLIPSE製品(これは、燃料素子中に外側の溝を5つ有する。)および燃料素子に外側の溝を8つ有する別の対照となる燃料素子と比較する。試験した組成物は、0.05重量%、0.075重量%および0.1重量%のマイクロスフェア含有レベルを含めた、様々な量のセラミックマイクロスフィア(3Mから入手可能なW−610マイクロスフィア)を含む(この場合、ミル粉砕炭素の量は、セラミックマイクロスフィアを収容するよう減量される。)。実験組成物の一部は、外側の溝を5つまたは8つのどちらかを有する、燃料素子に作製され、一例において、8つの溝およびこれを介して中心孔の両方を有する。
実施例1と同様に、ミル粉砕炭素、結合剤としてグアーガム、炭酸カルシウムおよびグラファイトを含むいくつかの燃料素子組成物を形成し、非燃焼加熱式シガレットをこれと共に構成する。各燃料素子組成物を着火するのに必要な時間を測定し、市販のECLIPSE製品と比較する。試験した組成物は、以下を含む:(A)ミル粉砕炭素、グアーガム、炭酸カルシウム、グラファイト;(B)ミル粉砕炭素、グアーガム、炭酸カルシウム、グラファイト、および5重量%の含浸炭素(Calgon Corporationから入手可能なST1−X含浸炭素)であり、ミル粉砕炭素含有量が、(A)と比べて5%減量されている;(C)10重量%の含浸炭素を有することを除いて、(B)の組成物であり、ミル粉砕炭素含有量は、(A)と比べて、10%減量した;(D)15重量%の含浸炭素を有することを除いて、(C)の組成物であり、ミル粉砕炭素含有量は、(A)と比べて、15%減量した;(E)ミル粉砕炭素、グアーガム、炭酸カルシウム、グラファイト、および5重量%のセルロース粒子(Sigma−Aldrichから入手可能なSigmacellセルロース)であり、他のすべての成分は、(A)と比べて、実質的に比例して減量した;(F)ミル粉砕炭素、グアーガム、炭酸カルシウム、グラファイト、10重量%のST1−X活性炭および5重量%のSigmacellセルロースであり、他の成分はすべて減量したが、ミル粉砕炭素は、(A)と比べて、最も減量した;および(G)3重量%の含浸炭素を有することを除いて、(B)の組成物であり、グラファイト含有量は、(A)と比べて、3%減量した。
ミル粉砕炭素、結合剤としてグアーガム、炭酸カルシウムおよびグラファイトを含むいくつかの燃料素子組成物を形成し、非燃焼加熱式シガレットをこれと共に構成する。各燃料素子組成物に着火するために必要な時間を測定し、市販のECLIPSE製品(これは、燃料素子中に外側の溝を5つ有する。)および燃料素子に外側の溝を8つ有する別の対照の燃料素子と比較する。
Claims (26)
- (a) 燃料素子の重量に対して、乾燥重量基準で少なくとも25%の量の可燃性炭素質材料、および
(b) 燃料素子全体に分散されており、セラミック粒子、セルロース粒子、フラーレン、含浸活性炭粒子、無機塩およびこれらの組合せからなる群から選択される、粒子状着火補助剤
を含む、喫煙用物品において使用するようになされている燃料素子であって、
着火補助剤の平均粒子サイズが、約1,000ミクロン未満であり、但し、着火補助剤が無機塩である場合、前記無機塩は、燃料素子の全乾燥重量に対して、約0.5乾燥重量%以下の量で存在する、燃料素子。 - 粒子状着火補助剤が非触媒性である、請求項1に記載の燃料素子。
- 着火補助剤が、約500ミクロン未満の平均粒子サイズを有するセラミック粒子またはセルロース粒子を含み、セラミック粒子が、ガラスバブルまたはセノスフェアである、請求項1に記載の燃料素子。
- 着火補助剤が、約10から約300ミクロンの平均粒子サイズを有するガラスバブルを含む、請求項1に記載の燃料素子。
- 着火補助剤が、約10から約300ミクロンの平均粒子サイズを有するセルロース粒子を含む、請求項1に記載の燃料素子。
- セラミック粒子が、金属コーティングセラミック粒子である、請求項1に記載の燃料素子。
- 着火補助剤の存在により、着火補助剤のない対照燃料素子と比較して、燃料素子を着火するために必要な時間が、少なくとも20%短縮する、請求項1に記載の燃料素子。
- 結合剤、触媒金属材料、グラファイト、無機フィラーおよびこれらの組合せをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の燃料素子。
- 活性炭粒子中に存在する含浸剤が、金属、金属酸化物、無機塩および無機酸からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の燃料素子。

- 結合剤が天然ガムである、請求項10に記載の燃料素子。
- 着火端および反対側の口側端を有する、細長い喫煙用物品であって、前記喫煙用物品が、
口側端に配設されている口側端部分、
着火端と口側端部分との間に配設されているタバコ部分、および
着火端とタバコ部分との間に配設されているエアゾール発生システム
を備え、
エアゾール発生システムが、着火端に配設されている熱発生部分を含み、熱発生部分が、着火端を着火するよう構成されている請求項1に記載の燃料素子を含む、細長い喫煙用物品。 - 着火補助剤が、約500ミクロン未満の平均粒子サイズを有するセラミック粒子またはセルロース粒子を含み、セラミック粒子は、ガラスバブルまたはセノスフェアである、請求項13に記載の喫煙用物品。
- 着火補助剤が、約10から約300ミクロンの平均粒子サイズを有するガラスバブルを含む、請求項13に記載の喫煙用物品。
- 着火補助剤が、約10から約300ミクロンの平均粒子サイズを有するセルロース粒子を含む、請求項13に記載の喫煙用物品。

エアゾール発生素子が、煙により処理されている、細長い喫煙用物品。 - ビーズまたはペレットが、ウッドスモークにより処理されている、請求項21に記載の喫煙用物品。
