Abstract
Description
前記装置は、前記装置の装置識別情報及びセンサー情報を、前記第2信号パスを介して前記スイッチのBMC(Baseboard Management Controller)に提供し、前記装置識別情報は、ヘルス状態情報及びFRU(Field−Replaceable Unit)情報の中の1つ以上を含み得る。
前記装置は、NVMeプロトコルとNVMeoFプロトコルを切り替えるようにフィールド構成可能(field−configurable)であることが好ましい。
前記装置は、HA(High Availability)モード又はnon−HAモードで動作し得る。
前記コネクターは、U.2コネクターであることが好ましい。
前記第1信号は、前記U.2コネクターの1つ以上のSAS(Serial Attached SCSI)ピンを通じて伝送され得る。
前記スイッチは、第1イーサーネットポートと第2イーサーネットポートを含む2つのスイッチボードを含み、
SASピンの第1グループは前記第1イーサーネットポートに使用され、SASピンの第2グループは前記第2イーサーネットポートに使用され得る。
前記第1信号は、ディスカバリー(discovery)サービス又は前記装置のファームウェアに対するダウンロードサービスのうちの少なくとも1つを提供し得る。
前記第2信号は、前記PCIeバスの2つのPCIeレーンを通じて伝送されるPCIe信号を含み、前記第1信号は、前記PCIeバスの残りの2つのPCIeレーンを通じて伝送されるネットワーク信号を含み得る。

前記ストレージ装置は、前記システムから製品情報を取得し、製品情報に基づいてNVMe装置又はNVMeoF装置として構成され得る。
前記第1信号は、ディスカバリーサービス又は1つ以上の前記NVMeoF装置のファームウェアのダウンロードサービスのうちの少なくとも1つを提供し得る。
前記NVMeoF装置は、HA(High Availability)モード又はnon−HAモードで動作するようにフィールド構成可能(field−configurable)であることが好ましい。
前記ストレージ装置は、前記第2バスを通じて前記第2信号を使用し、装置識別情報及びセンサー情報を前記BMCに提供し得る。

前記ストレージ装置は、NVMeプロトコルとNVMeoFプロトコルを切り替えるようにフィールド構成可能であることが好ましい。

ストレージ装置は、NVMe及びNVMeoFプロトコルの両方を支援する。
ミッドプレーンは、HAモード及びnon−HAモードの両方支援する。
ネットワーク信号は、U.2コネクターの未使用ピンを通じて搬送される。
ネットワーク信号は、ディスカバリー(discovery)サービス又はストレージ装置の新たなファームウェアに対するダウンロードサービスを提供する。
ネットワーク信号は、ストレージ装置のヘルス状態情報、FRU(Field−Replaceable Unit)情報、及びセンサー情報の中の1つ以上を含む装置識別情報を含み、装置識別情報は、PCIeレーンを介してミッドプレーンを通じてBMCに伝送される。
ストレージ装置は、HAモード又はnon−HAモードで動作する。

SASピンのS2、S3、S5、及びS6は、第1LANポートに対して使用され、SASピンのS9、S10、S12、及びS13は、第2LANポートに対して使用される。
NVMeoF装置は、HAモード又はnon−HAモードで動作する。

- 装置であって、
ネットワークエンジンと、
スイッチモジュールと、
ミッドプレーンを通じてスイッチのマザーボードに連結するコネクターと、を備え、
前記装置は、前記スイッチに着脱可能に連結され、
前記ネットワークエンジンは、前記ミッドプレーン上に確立された第1信号パスを介して前記スイッチに第1信号を伝送し、
前記スイッチモジュールは、前記ミッドプレーン上に確立された第2信号パスを介して前記スイッチに第2信号を伝送し、
前記第2信号パスは前記第1信号パスとは異なり、
前記装置は、NVMe(Non−Volatile Memory express)プロトコル及びNVMeoF(NVMe over Fabrics)プロトコルの両方を支援し、
前記NVMeプロトコルと前記NVMeoFプロトコルとを切り替えるように構成可能であることを特徴とする装置。 - 前記装置は、前記装置の装置識別情報及びセンサー情報を、前記第2信号パスを介して前記スイッチのBMC(Baseboard Management Controller)に提供し、
前記装置識別情報は、ヘルス状態情報及びFRU(Field−Replaceable Unit)情報の中の1つ以上を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記装置は、NVMeプロトコルとNVMeoFプロトコルを切り替えるようにフィールド構成可能(field−configurable)であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記装置は、HA(High Availability)モード又はnon−HAモードで動作することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記コネクターは、U.2コネクターであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記第1信号は、前記U.2コネクターの1つ以上のSAS(Serial Attached SCSI)ピンを通じて伝送されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記スイッチは、第1イーサーネットポートと第2イーサーネットポートを含む2つのスイッチボードを含み、
SASピンの第1グループは前記第1イーサーネットポートに使用され、SASピンの第2グループは前記第2イーサーネットポートに使用されることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の装置。 - 前記第1信号は、ディスカバリー(discovery)サービス又は前記装置のファームウェアに対するダウンロードサービスのうちの少なくとも1つを提供することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- システムであって、
BMC(Baseboard Management Controller)を含むスイッチと、
コネクターを使用して前記スイッチに連結されたストレージ装置、と、を備え、
前記コネクターは、第1バスを通じて前記スイッチに第1信号を伝送し、第2バスを通じて前記スイッチに第2信号を伝送し、
第1バスはネットワークバスであり、第2バスはPCIeバスであり、
前記ストレージ装置は、NVMeプロトコルとNVMeoFプロトコルとを切り替えるように構成可能であることを特徴とするシステム。 - 前記ストレージ装置は、NVMeプロトコルとNVMeoFプロトコルの両方を支援することを特徴とする請求項9に記載のシステム。
- 前記第2信号は、前記PCIeバスの2つのPCIeレーンを通じて伝送されるPCIe信号を含み、
前記第1信号は、前記PCIeバスの残りの2つのPCIeレーンを通じて伝送されるネットワーク信号を含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載のシステム。 - 前記コネクターは、U.2コネクターで構成され、
前記第1信号は、前記U.2コネクターのSAS(Serial Attached SCSI)ピンを通じて伝送されることを特徴とする請求項9に記載のシステム。 - 前記ストレージ装置は、前記システムから製品情報を取得し、製品情報に基づいてNVMe装置又はNVMeoF装置として構成されることを特徴とする請求項9に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1信号は、ディスカバリーサービス又は1つ以上の前記NVMeoF装置のファームウェアのダウンロードサービスのうちの少なくとも1つを提供することを特徴とする請求項13に記載のシステム。
- 前記NVMeoF装置は、HA(High Availability)モード又はnon−HAモードで動作するようにフィールド構成可能(field−configurable)であることを特徴とする請求項13に記載のシステム。
- 前記ストレージ装置は、前記第2バスを通じて前記第2信号を使用し、装置識別情報及びセンサー情報を前記BMCに提供することを特徴とする請求項12に記載のシステム。
- 前記装置識別情報は、ヘルス状態情報及びFRU(Field−Replaceable Unit)情報の中の1つ以上を含むことを特徴とする請求項16に記載のシステム。
- 前記ストレージ装置は、NVMeプロトコルとNVMeoFプロトコルを切り替えるようにフィールド構成可能であることを特徴とする請求項9に記載のシステム。
- 前記スイッチは、第1イーサネットポート及び第2イーサネットポートを含む2つのスイッチボードを含み、前記第1イーサネットポートにはSASピンの第1グループが使用され、前記第2イーサネットポートにはSASピンの第2グループが使用されることを特徴とする請求項9に記載のシステム。
- 前記装置識別情報又は前記センサー情報は、前記システムのコントロールプレーンを通じて前記BMCに伝送されることを特徴とする請求項16に記載のシステム。
