Abstract
Description
SmFeN磁性粉末を表面処理するためのガスをプラズマ処理することと、
プラズマ処理されたガスによりSmFeN磁性粉末を表面処理することと、
表面処理されたSmFeN磁性粉末の表面に被覆層を形成することと、
を含むことを特徴とする。
SinO(n−1)(OR)(2n+2)
(Rはアルキル基、nは1〜10の整数である。)
で示されるケイ酸エステルである。ここで、アルキル基としては、例えば、メチル基、エチル基、プロピル基、ブチル基等が使用できる。アルキル基は、特にコストが安価なこと、また、毒性がなく取り扱いが簡単なことからエチル基が好ましい。また、nの値はアルキルシリケートの分子量に関係し、n=1〜10の範囲のものが好ましく使用できる。nが10よりも大きくなると、緻密なシリカは得られにくくなる。アルキルシリケートの添加量は、エチルシリケートの種類、磁性粉末の種類、形状、粒子径等にも依存するが、磁性粉末100質量部に対して、1質量部以上10質量部以下が好ましく、1質量部以上5質量部以下がより好ましい。
大気圧プラズマ発生装置(マイクロ波出力2kW、照射エリアφ100mm)にて、平均粒径3μmのSm2Fe17N3系磁性粉末100gに対して、表1に示すガスの種類、ガスの流量、プラズマ照射時間のもと、プラズマ処理を行った。
続いてミキサーに、得られたプラズマ処理済みのSm2Fe17N3系磁性粉末にエチルシリケート(n=5)を添加して、混合した。その後、pHが12に調整されたアンモニア水を添加し1分間混合した。混合分散が終了した後に、ミキサーから磁性粉末を取り出し、減圧下230℃で30分間加熱処理し、表面にシリカ薄膜を形成したSm2Fe17N3系磁性粉末を得た。
プラズマ処理を行わず、それ以外は実施例1と同様にして表面にシリカ薄膜を形成したSm2Fe17N3系磁性粉末を得た。
実施例1におけるプラズマ処理済みのSm2Fe17N3系磁性粉末を比較例2とした。なお、この比較例2においては表面にシリカ薄膜を形成していない。
プラズマ処理工程の順番もしくはタイミングを、表1に記載の順番もしくはタイミングに変更する以外は実施例1と同様にして、表面にシリカ薄膜を形成したSm2Fe17N3系磁性粉末を得た。
実施例と比較例で得た磁性粉末を85℃、85%RHの恒温恒湿槽に200時間放置した後に、最大磁場16kOeVSM(振動試料型磁力計)を用いて、保磁力を測定した。
実施例と比較例で得た磁性粉末を、高周波誘導結合プラズマ発光分光分析法(ICP−AES)を用いて測定した。
Claims (6)
- SmFeN磁性粉末を表面処理するためのガスをプラズマ処理することと、
プラズマ処理されたガスによりSmFeN磁性粉末を表面処理することと、
表面処理されたSmFeN磁性粉末の表面に被覆層を形成することと、
を含む磁性粉末の製造方法。 - 前記ガスがCF4、アルゴン、窒素または空気である請求項1に記載の磁性粉末の製造方法。
- 前記ガスがCF4である請求項2に記載の磁性粉末の製造方法。
- SmFeN磁性粉末と、
前記粉末の表面上に形成されたプラズマ処理層と、
前記処理層の表面に形成される被覆層を含む磁性粉末。 - 前記プラズマ処理層がフッ素を含有する請求項4に記載の磁性粉末。
- 前記フッ素の含有量が100ppm以上2000ppm以下である請求項5に記載の磁性粉末。
