Abstract
Description

一態様では、多相ポリマー結合剤であって、約65重量%〜約100重量%の量で存在する水性ポリマー分散液と、0重量%〜約25重量%の疎水性エマルションと、0重量%〜約10重量%の界面活性剤と、を含有し、ポリマー結合剤が、乾燥したときに、約5g/m2/20分未満の吸水率、25℃または90℃で測定したとき、少なくとも約200ニュートン/メートル(N/m)のシール強度、および基材に損傷を与えないのに十分な耐ブロッキング性を有する、多相ポリマー結合剤が、本明細書で提供される。いくつかの実施形態では、水性ポリマー分散液は、約80重量%〜約95重量%の量で存在する。いくつかの実施形態では、疎水性エマルションは、約5重量%〜約10重量%の量で存在する。いくつかの実施形態では、界面活性剤は、約1重量%〜約3重量%の量で存在する。いくつかの実施形態では、水性ポリマー分散液は、約5重量%〜約60重量%の量で存在する酸高含有(acid-rich)コポリマーと、約40重量%〜約95重量%の量で存在する酸不含有(acid-free)コポリマーと、を含有する。いくつかの実施形態では、水性ポリマー分散液は、約35重量%〜約45重量%の量で存在する酸高含有コポリマーと、約55重量%〜約65重量%の量で存在する酸不含有コポリマーと、を含有する。いくつかの実施形態では、酸高含有コポリマーは、約5重量%〜約25重量%の量のカルボン酸官能性モノマー類と、約70重量%までの量のスチレンと、約10重量%〜約90重量%の量の(メタ)アクリレートモノマー類と、を含む。いくつかの実施形態では、酸高含有コポリマーは、約5重量%〜約15重量%の量のカルボン酸官能性モノマー類と、約20重量%〜約40重量%の量のスチレンと、約45重量%〜約65重量%の量の(メタ)アクリレートモノマー類と、を含有する。いくつかの実施形態では、酸不含有コポリマーは、約50重量%までの量のスチレンと、約50重量%〜100重量%未満の量の(メタ)アクリレートモノマー類と、を含有する。いくつかの実施形態では、酸不含有コポリマーは、約15重量%〜約40重量%の量のスチレンと、約65重量%〜約90重量%未満の量の(メタ)アクリレートモノマー類と、を含有する。いくつかの実施形態では、疎水性エマルションは、ワックスエマルションである。いくつかの実施形態では、ワックスエマルションは、パラフィン、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、微晶質ワックス類、フッ素化ワックス類、エチレンおよびプロピレンコポリマーワックス類、またはそれらの2つ以上の任意の組み合わせを含有する。いくつかの実施形態では、界面活性剤は、アニオン性または非イオン性である。いくつかの実施形態では、界面活性剤は、1つ以上のアルキルスルホネート類、アルキルベンゼンスルホネート類、アルキルスルフェート類、アルキルベンゼンスルフェート類、ホスフェート類、ホスフィネート類、脂肪カルボキシレート類、またはそれらの2つ以上の任意の組み合わせを含有する。いくつかの実施形態では、界面活性剤は、1つ以上の脂肪アルコールエトキシレート類を含有する。いくつかの実施形態では、界面活性剤は、1つ以上のアルキルスルホコハク酸エトキシレート類を含有する。いくつかの実施形態では、界面活性剤は、1つ以上のアルキルスルホコハク酸エトキシレート類と、1つ以上の脂肪アルコールエトキシレート類と、を含有する。いくつかの実施形態では、界面活性剤は、約12〜約18個の炭素のアルキル鎖長を有する1つ以上の脂肪アルコール類と、約10〜約80モルのエチレンオキシド単位のエトキシル化度と、を含有する。
Claims (25)
- 多相ポリマー結合剤であって、
約65重量%〜約100重量%の量で存在する水性ポリマー分散液と、
0重量%〜約25重量%の疎水性エマルションと、
0重量%〜約10重量%の界面活性剤と、を含み、
前記ポリマー結合剤が、乾燥したときに、約5g/m2/20分未満の吸水率、25℃または90℃で測定したとき、少なくとも約200ニュートン/メートル(N/m)のシール強度、および基材に損傷を与えないのに十分な耐ブロッキング性を有する、多相ポリマー結合剤。 - 前記水性ポリマー分散液が、約80重量%〜約95重量%の量で存在する、請求項1に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤。
- 前記疎水性エマルションが、約5重量%〜約10重量%の量で存在する、請求項1または請求項2に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤。
- 前記界面活性剤が、約1重量%〜約3重量%の量で存在する、請求項1〜3のうちのいずれか1項に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤。
- 前記水性ポリマー分散液が、約1重量%〜約60重量%の量で存在する酸高含有コポリマーと、約40重量%〜約95重量%の量で存在する酸不含有コポリマーと、を含む、請求項1〜4のうちのいずれか1項に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤。
- 前記水性ポリマー分散液が、約35重量%〜約45重量%の量で存在する酸高含有コポリマーと、約55重量%〜約65重量%の量で存在する酸不含有コポリマーと、を含む、請求項1〜5のうちのいずれか1項に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤。
- 前記酸高含有コポリマーが、約5重量%〜約25重量%の量のカルボン酸官能性モノマー類と、約70重量%までの量のスチレンと、約10重量%〜約90重量%の量の(メタ)アクリレートモノマー類と、を含む、請求項5または請求項6に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤。
- 前記酸高含有コポリマーが、約5重量%〜約15重量%の量のカルボン酸官能性モノマー類と、約20重量%〜約40重量%の量のスチレンと、約45重量%〜約65重量%の量の(メタ)アクリレートモノマー類と、を含む、請求項7に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤。
- 前記酸不含有コポリマーが、約50重量%までの量のスチレンと、約50重量%〜100重量%未満の量の(メタ)アクリレートモノマー類と、を含む、請求項5または請求項6に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤。
- 前記酸不含有コポリマーが、15重量%〜約40重量%の量のスチレンと、約65重量%〜約90重量%の量の(メタ)アクリレートモノマー類と、を含む、請求項9に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤。
- 前記疎水性エマルションが、ワックスエマルションである、請求項1〜10のうちのいずれか1項に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤。
- 前記ワックスエマルションが、パラフィン、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、微晶質ワックス類、フッ素化ワックス類、エチレンおよびプロピレンコポリマーワックス類、またはそれらの2つ以上の任意の組み合わせを含む、請求項11に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤。
- 前記界面活性剤が、アニオン性または非イオン性である、請求項1〜12のうちのいずれか1項に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤。
- 前記界面活性剤が、1つ以上のアルキルスルホネート類、アルキルベンゼンスルホネート類、アルキルスルフェート類、アルキルベンゼンスルフェート類、ホスフェート類、ホスフィネート類、脂肪カルボキシレート類、またはそれらの2つ以上の任意の組み合わせを含む、請求項1〜13のうちのいずれか1項に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤。
- 前記界面活性剤が、1つ以上の脂肪アルコールエトキシレート類を含む、請求項1〜13のうちのいずれか1項に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤。
- 前記界面活性剤が、1つ以上のアルキルスルホコハク酸エトキシレート類を含む、請求項1〜13のうちのいずれか1項に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤。
- 前記界面活性剤が、1つ以上のアルキルスルホコハク酸エトキシレート類および1つ以上の脂肪アルコールエトキシレート類を含む、請求項1〜13のうちのいずれか1項に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤。
- 前記界面活性剤が、
約12〜約18個の炭素のアルキル鎖長を有する1つ以上の脂肪アルコールと、
約10〜約80モルのエチレンオキシド単位のエトキシル化度と、を含む、請求項1〜13のうちのいずれか1項に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤。 - 基材であって、請求項1〜18のうちのいずれか1項に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤を含む少なくとも1つの層でコーティングされた少なくとも1つの表面を含む、基材。
- 前記基材が、紙または板紙である、請求項19に記載の基材。
- 請求項1〜18のうちのいずれか1項に記載の多相ポリマー結合剤の製造方法。
- 酸不含有コポリマーが、酸高含有コポリマーの存在下で調製される、請求項21に記載の製造方法。
- 前記水性ポリマー分散液が、フリーラジカルエマルション重合プロセスを使用して調製される、請求項21または請求項22に記載の製造方法。
- 前記疎水性エマルションが、前記フリーラジカルエマルション重合プロセス中に前記水性ポリマー分散液中に存在する、請求項23に記載の製造方法。
- 添加剤が、前記フリーラジカルエマルション重合プロセス中に前記水性ポリマー分散液中に存在する、請求項23に記載の製造方法。
