Claims (15)
- 第1電極及び第2電極が設けられた基板の上部にナノカプセル液晶層が位置する液晶パネルと、
前記液晶パネルの上部に位置する偏光板と、
前記液晶パネルの下部に位置し、前記偏光板の透過軸に垂直な特定線形偏光を供給するバックライトユニットと
を備え、
前記ナノカプセル液晶層は、前記第1電極及び前記第2電極に印加される電圧差に比例するピクセル電圧によって光学的異方性を有し、電圧が印加されていない際には光学的等方性を有するフレキシブル液晶表示装置。 - 前記バックライトユニットは、導光板と、前記導光板の入光面に沿って配列される光源と、前記光源と前記入光面との間に介在される反射偏光フィルムとを含む、請求項1に記載のフレキシブル液晶表示装置。
- 前記バックライトユニットは、導光板と、前記導光板の入光面に沿って配列され、前記導光板に偏光された光を放出する非極性若しくは半極性LEDとを含む、請求項1に記載のフレキシブル液晶表示装置。
- 前記バックライトユニットは、ワイヤグリッド格子が形成された導光板と、前記導光板の入光面に沿って配列される光源とを含む、請求項1に記載のフレキシブル液晶表示装置。
- 前記バックライトユニットは、前記導光板と、前記導光板の入光面に沿って配列される前記光源と、前記導光板の上部の偏光分離層とを含む、請求項2に記載のフレキシブル液晶表示装置。
- 前記導光板の下部に反射板が位置し、前記導光板の上部に光学シートが位置する、請求項2ないし請求項5のうち、いずれか一項に記載のフレキシブル液晶表示装置。
- 前記導光板は、コアと、前記コアの外周面を囲み、前記コアに比べて屈折率の小さい光ガイド部と、前記コアに比べて屈折率が大きいかまたは同じ光発散部とからなるクラッドと、を含む複数の光繊維束が並んで配列されて板体を形成する、請求項2または請求項3に記載のフレキシブル液晶表示装置。
- 前記反射偏光フィルムは、異なる屈折率を示す誘電体薄膜の積層構造内に偏光子が内在させた多層薄膜構造でなるかまたは一方向に並んで配列された微細金属パターンを含むワイヤグリッド反射偏光フィルムのうち、選択された一つである、請求項2に記載のフレキシブル液晶表示装置。
- 前記ナノカプセル液晶層は、前記バックライトユニットに向かって位置し、前記偏光板は、前記基板の外側に位置する、請求項1に記載のフレキシブル液晶表示装置。
- 前記基板の外側にタッチパネルが位置する、請求項9に記載のフレキシブル液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶パネルと前記バックライトユニットとの間は粘着剤により、ラミネーション処理される、請求項1に記載のフレキシブル液晶表示装置。
- 前記ナノカプセル液晶層のナノサイズのカプセルの直径は、1nm〜320nmである、請求項1に記載のフレキシブル液晶表示装置。
- 前記ナノカプセル液晶層のナノサイズのカプセルは、前記ナノカプセル液晶層の25体積%〜65体積%である、請求項1に記載のフレキシブル液晶表示装置。
- 前記ナノカプセル液晶層の厚さは、2μm〜5μmである、請求項1に記載のフレキシブル液晶表示装置。
- 前記ナノカプセル液晶層の液晶分子と前記ナノサイズのカプセルの屈折率差は、±0.1以内である、請求項1に記載のフレキシブル液晶表示装置。
