ゼオライト粒子の組織および平均粒径
ゼオライト粒子の形態および形状(組織)を、走査型電子顕微鏡(SEM)によって観察する。物品中に存在するゼオライト粒子の平均粒径は、SEMによって観察されたゼオライト粒子の最大寸法の数平均である。
吸着剤物品を、樹脂を溶解させるために選択された溶媒中に浸漬し、または、燃焼によって樹脂を分解するために空気中で加熱する。得られた粒子中のゼオライトの性質および濃度を、XRDによって測定する。無機結合剤は、樹脂を除き、結晶部分(ゼオライト部分)を差し引いた後の物品の残り部分に対応する。
ゼオライト含量、即ち、物品中のゼオライト部分の総重量含量は、XRDという頭字語で当業者に公知のX線回折分析によって測定される。この定量的および定性的な分析は、Bruker装置を用いて、物品の回折図形をICDDデータバンクのデータと比較することによって実施され、ゼオライトの量または各ゼオライト型の量は、BruckerのTOPASソフトウェアによって評価される。ゼオライト重量含量は、すべてのゼオライトの含量の合計に等しい。
体積効率は、5cmの直径および3cmの高さを有するシリンダー形状の物品試料における吸着水の量に対応する。試料は、特許出願EP1223147Aにおいて記述されているように、相対湿度が50%の閉鎖容器内において23℃±2℃で24時間配置する。
体積平均粒径は、100mLガラスビーカーを使用して、0.5gの樹脂粒子を2mLの10%Triton X−100水溶液に直接添加することによって測定される。樹脂粉末と界面活性剤とをよく混合し、次いで、60mLの脱イオン水をビーカーに加えることによって混合物を希釈する。ビーカーを超音波発生装置内に配置して、粉末の沈降を防止するために溶液を撹拌し続けながら、アグロメレートを崩壊させる。溶液を使用して、Microtrac S3500分析装置内の粒径分布を測定する。
圧縮強さ:本発明の物品の圧縮強さを測定するために、Zwickの引張/圧力試験器、モデルUP1455を利用する。この圧縮強さの測定のために、5mmの供試材直径を有する円筒形物品を、7mmの供試材長さになるように切断する。圧縮強さを再現性の良く厳密に測定するために、物品の前面が、平面の状態で平行であることを確実にしなければならない。測定は、室温で実施される。前もってかけておく力は、1Nである。実験は、1mm/分の試験速度で実施される。試験力は、前面に作用する。

- 少なくとも1種のゼオライト吸着剤のゼオライト粒子を含み、前記粒子が、少なくとも1種の樹脂によって固定化されている、吸着剤物品であって、前記少なくとも1種のゼオライト吸着剤の平均粒径が、0.03mmから3mmまでの範囲、好ましくは0.04mmから2mmまでの範囲、より好ましくは0.05mmから1mmまでの範囲であり、ゼオライト含量が、前記物品の総重量に対して60wt%以上であり、より好ましくはゼオライト含量が70wt%超である場合、好ましくは厳密に80wt%超である場合、より好ましくは厳密に85wt%超である場合、さらにより好ましくは厳密に88wt%超である場合、一般的に90wt%以上である、吸着剤物品。
- 前記物品中の前記ゼオライト粒子が、1種以上の無機結合剤とアグロメレート化したゼオライトの形態の少なくとも1種のゼオライト吸着剤を含む、請求項1に記載の物品。
- 前記物品中の前記ゼオライト粒子が、天然クレー、合成クレー、シリカおよびアルミナ等、好ましくは天然クレーおよび/または合成クレー、より好ましくは天然クレーから選択される1種以上の無機結合剤とアグロメレート化したゼオライトの形態の少なくとも1種のゼオライト吸着剤を含む、請求項1または2に記載の物品。
- 前記ゼオライト粒子が、例えばビーズ、ペレット、押出品、破砕ビーズ、破砕ペレット、フレーク、クラック、および、丸みを帯びたまたは丸みを帯びていない中空のまたは中空でない概ねすべての種類の形状、例えばセノスフェア等、ならびに/またはこれらの混合物といった、様々な形態および形状を有する、請求項1または3に記載の物品。
- 前記物品中の少なくとも1種のゼオライト粒子が、0.1mm以上の寸法を有する、請求項1から4のいずれかに記載の物品。
