Abstract
Description
本開示の実施形態は、基板と、基板上のゾルゲル(sol−gel)変換コーティングと、ゾルゲル変換コーティング上の処理層であって、アミノアルコールを含む、処理層とを含む、物品を対象とする。
変換コーティング等のコーティングは、金属および/または金属合金基板等の基板を保護するために使用されることができる。変換コーティングは、基板を腐食から保護することができ、トップコートおよび塗料等の他のコーティングのためのプライマーとして使用されることができる。例えば、変換コーティングは、別のコーティングを基板に付着(例えば、接着)することができる。したがって、変換コーティングは、基板と、存在する場合、他のコーティングとに良好な接着性を呈するべきである。ゾルゲルプロセスを介して形成された変換コーティングは、本明細書では、「ゾルゲル変換コーティング」と称される。
物品の特定の実施形態は、基板と、基板の少なくとも一部上のゾルゲル変換コーティングと、ゾルゲル変換コーティングの少なくとも一部上の処理層であって、アミノアルコールを含む、処理層とを含む。

アルミニウムでクラッディングされた2024T3アルミニウム合金を含む、基板が、水切れのない表面が得られるまで、脱イオン水およびスコッチ・ブライト#7447研磨パッド(3M Companyから入手可能)を使用して基板を研磨洗浄することによって、ゾルゲル前処理のために調製された。本明細書で使用されるように、用語「水切れのない表面」とは、表面が垂直位置に保持されたとき、玉状化または排水しない水の不断シートを表面上に有し得る表面を指す。基板は、脱イオン水で濯がれ、紙タオルで拭き取られ、汚れ(例えば、残留物)を除去した。基板は、再び、濯がれ、紙タオルによって残された糸くずおよび/または粒子状物を除去し、周囲温度で空気中で乾燥された。

コーティングされた基板が、処理層が形成されなかったことを除き、実施例23におけるように形成された。
実施例1および2ならびに比較実施例1および2に従ってコーティングされた基板と、実施例3−26および比較実施例3−6に従ってコーティングされた基板とが、卑金属(base metal)に硬化されたコーティングを通して45度斜交平行線けがきパターンを切り込み、テープNo.250(3M Companyから入手可能)を貼付し、一連の動作においてテープを除去し、コーティング除去のための試験面積を検査することによって、基板への接着性について試験された。コーティングされた基板は、視覚的に検査され、0〜10の尺度に従って評定され、0は、不良乾燥接着性に対応し、10は、良好な乾燥接着性に対応する。実施例1および2ならびに比較実施例1および2に従ってコーティングされた基板の3つのセット毎の試験の結果は、以下の表1に示される。実施例3−10ならびに比較実施例3および4に従ってコーティングされた基板の結果は、以下の表2に示される。実施例11−26に従ってコーティングされた基板の結果は、以下の表3に示される。実施例27および28ならびに比較実施例5および6に従ってコーティングされた基板の結果は、以下の表4に示される。
実施例1および2ならびに比較実施例1および2に従ってコーティングされた基板と、実施例3−26および比較実施例3−6に従ってコーティングされた基板との3つのセットが、最初に、基板を硬化させ、7日間、脱イオン水中に浸漬し、次いで、45度斜交平行線けがきパターンを卑金属へのコーティング中に切り込み、テープNo.250(3M Companyから入手可能)を貼付し、一連の動作においてテープを除去し、コーティング除去のための試験面積を検査することによって、基板への接着性について試験された。コーティングされた基板は、視覚的に検査され、0〜10の尺度に従って評定され、0は、不良湿潤接着性に対応し、10は、良好な湿潤接着性に対応する。実施例1および2ならびに比較実施例1および2に従って3つのコーティングされた基板のセット毎の試験の結果は、以下の表1に示される。実施例3−10ならびに比較実施例3および4に従ってコーティングされた基板の結果は、以下の表2に示される。実施例11−26に従ってコーティングされた基板の結果は、以下の表3に示される。実施例27および28ならびに比較実施例5および6に従ってコーティングされた基板の結果は、以下の表4に示される。
実施例1および2ならびに比較実施例1および2に従ってコーティングされた基板の3つのセットが、ASTM B−117試験仕様に従って、3,000時間の間、中性塩スプレーを使用して試験された。実施例1および2ならびに比較実施例1および2に従って3つのコーティングされた基板のセット毎の試験の結果は、以下の表1に示される。
実施例1および2ならびに比較実施例1および2に従ってコーティングされた基板3つのセットと、実施例3−23および比較実施例3に従ってコーティングされた基板とが、パネルを横断して2つの1mm幅の対角線をけがき、1時間、濃縮されたHCl煙霧にけがきされたパネルを暴露し、次いで、暴露されたパネルを720時間、相対湿度80%および温度35℃に維持可能である環境チャンバの中に定置することによって、調製および試験された。
