1)保護オーバーコート層上に堆積された潤滑剤層は、磁気ヘッドが磁気層のより近くで浮動するように、徐々に薄くならなければならない。これは、読取り/書込み性能を改善し、磁気記録媒体の容量も増大させる。

Claims (14)
- パーフルオロポリエーテル主鎖を有する単一潤滑剤化合物を含むイオン性潤滑剤であって、
前記パーフルオロポリエーテル主鎖の各末端が末端基により終結しており、かつ
前記末端基の少なくとも1つがイオン結合および少なくとも1つの官能基を含んでいることを特徴とする、イオン性潤滑剤。 - 前記イオン結合は、カルボン酸基とアミノ塩基性基との間で存在していることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のイオン性潤滑剤。
- 前記末端基は、炭化水素鎖またはフルオロカーボン鎖を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載のイオン性潤滑剤。
- 前記末端基は、3から6個の炭素原子を含むことを特徴とする、請求項3に記載のイオン性潤滑剤。
- 前記官能基は、ヒドロキシル基またはフェニル基であることを特徴とする、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のイオン性潤滑剤。
- 前記イオン結合は、パーフルオロポリエーテル主鎖の末端からの少なくとも2つの化学結合であることを特徴とする、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載のイオン性潤滑剤。
- 前記パーフルオロポリエーテル主鎖は、下記の化学式(A)から(D):
のいずれかによって表されることを特徴とする、請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載のイオン性潤滑剤。 - 下記の化学式(1)から(5):
のいずれかによって表されることを特徴とする、イオン性潤滑剤。 - 基板と、前記基板上に設けられた少なくとも磁気層、保護層および潤滑層をこの記載された順序で含む、磁気記録媒体であって、
前記潤滑層がパーフルオロポリエーテル主鎖を有する単一潤滑剤化合物を含み、
前記パーフルオロポリエーテル主鎖の各末端が末端基により終結しており、かつ
前記末端基の少なくとも1つがイオン結合および少なくとも1つの官能基を含んでいることを特徴とする、磁気記録媒体。 - 前記イオン結合は、パーフルオロポリエーテル主鎖の末端からの少なくとも2つの化学結合であることを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の磁気記録媒体。
- 前記イオン結合は、カルボン酸基とアミノ塩基性基との間で存在していることを特徴とする、請求項9または10に記載の磁気記録媒体。
- 前記末端基は、炭化水素鎖またはフルオロカーボン鎖を含むことを特徴とする、請求項9から11のいずれか一項に記載の磁気記録媒体。
- 前記末端基は、3から6個の炭素原子を含むことを特徴とする、請求項12に記載の磁気記録媒体。
- 前記官能基は、ヒドロキシル基またはフェニル基であることを特徴とする、請求項9から12のいずれか一項に記載の磁気記録媒体。
