多量の硫黄含有化合物に曝されると、生物の細胞構造は損傷を受け得る。グルタチオンによる置換反応を触媒し、臓器および組織において高度の活性を示すチオール転移は、第1の順で、ジアルキルジスルフィド毒性の影響を受ける(LilligおよびHolmgren、2007)。この反応メカニズムは、組織高分子またはそれが生じる部位において酸化還元サイクルを開始し得る過剰かつ高い反応性を有するフリーラジカル媒体に関連するので極めて重要である(図1)。
硫黄含有化石燃料の燃焼は、SOxの主な供給源である。SOxの構成は、97%〜99%、燃焼により発生するSO2である。残余はほとんど三酸化硫黄(SO3)である。大気水蒸気から入手可能なこの化合物は、H2SO4に容易に変換する。十分な濃度の場合、SO2およびH2SO4は呼吸器系に有害である。また、SO2は植物にも有害である(U.S. EPA、1999)。
硫黄毒は、触媒コンバーターの構造的、形態学的および電子的特性を変える複雑な事象である(RodriguezおよびHrbek 1999)。硫黄は、触媒の活性および酸素吸蔵能に悪影響を及ぼす(Boaroら、2001、YuおよびShaw、1998)。硫黄の存在は、触媒表面上に新たな不活性化合物の形成をもたらし得る。更に、硫黄は、触媒における構造変化ももたらし得る(YuおよびShaw、1998)。
Claims (4)
- メチルアクリレートおよび/またはエチルアクリレートおよび/またはイソバレルアルデヒドおよび少なくとも1つのセレン化合物を含んでなることを特徴とする、液化石油ガスの臭い付けにおいて使用されるガス付臭剤組成物。
- セレン化合物は、ジメチルセレニド、ジメチルジセレニド、ジエチルセレニド、ジフェニルセレニド、ジフェニルジセレニドまたはエチルセレノールとして選択されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の硫黄不含有ガス付臭剤組成物。
- 0〜50重量%のメチルアクリレート、10〜40重量%のエチルアクリレート、25〜75重量%のイソバレルアルデヒド、2〜10重量%のジメチルセレニドを含んでなることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の硫黄不含有ガス付臭剤組成物。
- 燃焼反応中のエンジンシリンダーブロック内での煤煙の形成および蓄積を防ぐための、液化石油ガスの臭い付けにおいて使用され、メチルアクリレートおよび/またはエチルアクリレートおよび/またはイソバレルアルデヒドを含んでなるガス付臭剤組成物におけるセレノール化合物の使用。
