Abstract
Description
本発明は、堅牢性、反応性の乳化界面活性剤を含有する水性アルキド樹脂乳濁液に関する。本発明は、また、上塗り用の、堅牢性、反応性の乳化界面活性剤を含有するアルキド樹脂乳濁液、及びそれらの調製方法にも関する。
ジスチレン化フェノール(DSP)(694g、1当量)を、アリルグリシジルエーテル(AGE)(494g、2当量)及び水酸化カリウムKOH(2.3g)と共に、ステンレススチールのオートクレーブに添加し、オートクレーブを密閉して105℃に加熱した。AGEの全てが消費されたとき、反応塊を冷却し、生成物を取り出した。これは、AGE2DSP付加物である。
実施例1のエトキシレートを、撹拌器、温度計及び還流冷却器を備えたガラス反応器中で、硫酸塩の百分率が>90%となるまで120℃に加熱して、スルファミン酸で硫酸塩化した。この生成物、実施例2(akaERS01618)、をアンモニウム塩として単離した。
実施例1のエトキシレートを、標準法に従って無水リン酸(P205)によってリン酸塩とし、粘性液としての酸性型の実施例3を生成した。
溶媒ストリッピングによる乳濁液調製手順
反応性及び非反応性界面活性剤間の塗膜特性の比較
下記表1に示した各成分量を有する実施例4の手順を使用して、2種の、溶媒系の長油アルキド(Beckosol 10-539 LOA、Reichholdから)の水性乳濁液を調製した。唯一の違いは乳化剤であった。乳化剤(実施例2及びPOE 20 DSP)は両者ともスチレン化フェノール系であり、ほぼ同じエトキシレート鎖長を有し、両者は硫酸塩である。これらの間の、唯一の大きな違いは、実施例2は反応性であるのに対して、POE 20 DSPは反応性アリル基を含有しないことである。
塗膜の光沢も、反応性界面活性剤を用いるとより高くなる。これによって、表面の欠陥が少ないことが示唆される。
別の密着性テストにおいて、実施例2の二官能反応性界面活性剤を用いて調製した実施例4の水性短油アルキド乳濁液、及びSynaqua 4804、反応性界面活性剤を含有しないと見なされる市販の水性短油アルキド(Arkemaから入手可能)から、4ミルのドローダウンを作製した。両者のアルキド乳濁液は、ドローダウンに先立って、同じ乾燥剤パッケージで触媒反応させた。24時間の乾燥後、塗膜の密着性をASTM Method D 3359-08「テープテストによる密着性測定(Measuring Adhesion by Tape Test)」により測定した。アルキド表面に、碁盤目パターンを罫書いた。市販アルキドの塗膜上に碁盤目パターンを罫書く試みは失敗したが、実施例2の反応性界面活性剤で乳化されたアルキド上では成功した。
金属に対する密着性の別のテストでは、実施例4の方法に従って、2種の短油アルキド乳濁液を調製した。一方は実施例4の繰り返しだったが、実施例7は、乳化剤として実施例2と実施例3の混合物を使用した。実施例7の乳濁液を調製して適当な粘度を生み出すために、さらに多くの水が必要であった。実施例4及び実施例7の乳濁液を作製した後、これらを、80〜90℃に加熱して、溶媒含量が0.5%未満になるまで溶媒を除去した。市販の金属触媒乾燥剤パッケージを、ドローダウンに先立って各乳濁液に添加した。各実施例の処方、及び溶媒除去後のこれら実施例の粒子サイズを、表3に示す。
実施例4の手順及び材料に従うが、溶媒除去工程なしに、短油アルキド乳濁液を調製した。実施例2のスチレン化フェノール界面活性剤の代わりに、別の反応性界面活性剤及び市販の、アマニ油脂肪酸のアルコキシレートを用いた以外は同じ方法で、同じアルキドの別の乳濁液を調製した。同じ金属乾燥剤触媒パッケージ(DriCat 507)の等量を、各乳濁液に添加した。
Claims (7)
- (a)分散相としての少なくとも1つのアルキド樹脂;
(b)式I又はIIのポリオキシアルキレン乳化剤の少なくとも1つを含む乳化剤;
を含む水性アルキド樹脂塗膜組成物。 - 前記乳化剤が式I及びIIの非イオン性界面活性剤及びアニオン性界面活性剤の混合物である請求項1に記載の塗膜組成物。
- 式Iの乳化剤が硫酸エステルである請求項1に記載の塗膜組成物。
- 式Iの乳化剤がリン酸エステルである請求項1に記載の塗膜組成物。
- エチレンオキシド及びプロピレンオキシド残基を、ヘテリック、ブロック、又はブロックヘテリック配置で含む非イオン性乳化剤を少なくとも1つ含む請求項1に記載の塗膜組成物。
- 請求項1の組成物の基板への塗布及びそれを空気乾燥させることを含む、基板に保護塗膜を塗布する方法。
- アルキド樹脂の分散物を調製する方法であって、
(a)有機溶媒を含むアルキド樹脂を請求項1の式I又はIIの乳化剤又はそれらの組み合わせと組み合わせる工程;
(b)任意に前記混合物を加熱して適当な程度に粘度を低下させる工程;
(c)相転化が起きるまで工程1の前記混合物に水を加える工程;
(d)さらに前記乳濁液を所望の固体程度まで水で希釈する工程;
(e)蒸溜で前記溶媒を除去する工程;及び
(f)任意に、湿潤剤、防食剤、顔料、乾燥剤、又は他の塗膜添加剤などの他の添加剤を加える工程を含む方法。
