Claims (19)
- 放電中に電気化学的に酸化してナトリウムイオンを放出し、再充電中に電気化学的にナトリウムイオンからナトリウム金属に還元されるナトリウム金属負極と、Na−FSA(ナトリウムビス(フルオロスルホニル)アミド)から成る溶融正極電解質中に配置される正極から成る正極室と、溶融正極電解質からナトリウム金属負極を分離するナトリウムイオン伝導性電解質膜とから成る溶融ナトリウム二次電池であって、電池の作動時にナトリウム金属負極は溶融して伝導性電解質膜と接触し、電池が約100℃〜約150℃の作動温度で機能することを特徴とする溶融ナトリウム二次電池。
- 正極がNiから成る請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 正極がZnから成る請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 正極がCuから成る請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 正極がFeから成る請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- ナトリウムイオン伝導性電解質膜がNaSICON型材料から成る請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- NaSICON型材料が、多孔質層と緻密機能層とから成る複合膜から成る請求項2に記載の二次電池。
- 電池が約110℃〜約130℃の間の作動温度で機能する請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 更に、電池の作動温度を制御する熱管理システムを有する請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 溶融ナトリウム二次電池から電位差を提供する方法であって、当該方法は、放電中に電気化学的に酸化してナトリウムイオンを放出し、再充電中に電気化学的にナトリウムイオンからナトリウム金属に還元されるナトリウム金属負極から成る負極室と、Na−FSA(ナトリウムビス(フルオロスルホニル)アミド)から成る溶融正極電解質中に配置される正極から成る正極室と、溶融正極電解質からナトリウム金属負極を分離するナトリウムイオン伝導性電解質膜とから成る溶融ナトリウム二次電池を提供する工程と、約100℃〜約150℃の温度にナトリウム金属負極を加熱する工程とから成り、正極がNi、Zn、Cu又はFeから成り、加熱工程によりナトリウム金属負極が溶融してナトリウムイオン伝導性電解質膜と接触し、ナトリウム金属負極が酸化してナトリウムイオンを放出することによって電池が放電することを特徴とする溶融ナトリウム二次電池から電位差を提供する方法。
- ナトリウムイオン伝導性電解質膜がNaSICON型材料から成る請求項10に記載の方法。
- 更に、ナトリウム金属負極の温度を約110℃〜約130℃に維持する工程を有する請求項10に記載の方法。
- ナトリウム金属負極および正極との間に電位差を通じ、金属負極をナトリウムイオンからナトリウム金属に電気化学的に還元することによって再充電する工程を有する請求項10に記載の方法。
- 溶融ナトリウム二次電池が更に熱管理システムを有する請求項10に記載の方法。
- 放電中に電気化学的に酸化してナトリウムイオンを放出し、再充電中に電気化学的にナトリウムイオンからナトリウム金属に還元されるナトリウム金属負極から成る負極室と、Na−FSA(ナトリウムビス(フルオロスルホニル)アミド)から成る溶融正極電解質中に配置される正極から成る正極室と、溶融正極電解質からナトリウム金属負極を分離しNaSICON型材料から成るナトリウムイオン伝導性電解質膜とから成る溶融ナトリウム二次電池であって、正極がNi及びNi(FSA)2から成り、電池の作動時にナトリウム金属負極は溶融して伝導性電解質膜と接触し、電池が約100℃〜約130℃の作動温度で機能することを特徴とする溶融ナトリウム二次電池。
- ナトリウムイオン伝導性電解質膜がNaSICON型材料から成る請求項15に記載の二次電池。
- 更に、電池の作動温度を制御する熱管理システムを有する請求項15に記載の二次電池。
- 更に、負極室の作動温度を制御するための熱管理システムが負極室内に配置されている請求項15に記載の二次電池。
- 更に、正極室の作動温度を制御するための熱管理システムが正極室内に配置されている請求項15に記載の二次電池。
