Abstract
Description
A.軟質ポリマーフィルムから形成される密封バッグと、
B.密封バッグ内部のバルク量の被覆ペレットと、
を含む。ペレットは、(i)エチレンから誘導される単位を少なくとも60重量%含むEPDMから構成される。ペレットは、500ppm〜2500ppmの残留含水量を有する。被覆ペレットは、(ii)ペレットの少なくとも一部に被覆を含む。被覆は、シリカ系粉末を含み、目に見える結露は、バッグが密封された7日後からバッグが密封された1000日後までバッグの内部にない。
本開示は、プロセスを提供する。一実施形態において、本プロセスは、
エチレン/プロピレン/ジエンポリマー(EPDM)のペレットを、混合装置に導入することを含む。EPDMは、エチレンから誘導される単位を少なくとも60重量%含む。ペレットは、500ppm〜2500ppmの残留含水量を有する。本プロセスは、シリカ系粉末を混合装置に加えること、及びペレットの少なくとも一部をシリカ系粉末で被覆することを含む。本プロセスは、バルク量の被覆ペレットを、軟質ポリマーフィルムで作製されたバッグの中に密封すること、及びシリカ系粉末を用いて、残留水分を、バッグ内に密封されたペレットから吸収することを更に含む。本プロセスは、バッグ内部の結露を、密封ステップの7日後から密封ステップの1000日後までの期間にわたって防止することを更に含む。

(ii)グロス・メルトフラクチャー表面不規則性、
(iii)エチレンから誘導される単位を60重量%〜85重量%含有するEPDM、
(iv)20〜300のムーニー粘度を有するEPDM、及び
(v)0.5重量%〜10重量%のENBを含有するEPDM。
本開示は、物品を提供する。一実施形態において、物品は包装である。本包装は、
A.軟質ポリマーフィルムから形成される密封バッグと、
B.密封バッグ内部のバルク量の被覆ペレットと、
を含む。被覆ペレットは、
(i)エチレンから誘導される単位を少なくとも60重量%含み、500ppm〜2500ppmの残留含水量を有するペレットである、エチレン/プロピレン/ジエンポリマー、及び
(ii)ペレットの少なくとも一部の上にあり、シリカ系粉末を含む、被覆
から構成される。目に見える結露は、バッグが密封された7日(168時間)後から、バッグが密封された365日後まで、またはバッグが密封された1000日後まで、バッグの内部にはなかった。
本明細書における数値数及び範囲は、近似数であり、したがって、特に指示のない限り、範囲外の値を含むことができる。数値範囲(例えば、「XからY」、または「X以上」、または「Y以下」)は、1つの単位の増分の低い値から上位の値までの全ての値を含むが、任意の低い値と任意の高い値の間に少なくとも2単位の隔たりがあることが条件である。例として、組成的、物理的、または例えば温度のような他の特性が100〜1,000である場合、100、101、102などの個別の値、及び100〜144、155〜170、197〜200などの部分範囲の全てが、明確に列挙されている。1未満の値を含有する、または1を超える分数(例えば、1.1、1.5など)を含有する範囲では、1単位は、適切であれば、0.0001、0.001、0.01、または0.1と考慮される。10未満の一桁数(例えば、1〜5)を含有する範囲では、1単位は、典型的には0.1と考慮される。明確な値(例えば、1、または2、または3から、5、または6、または7まで)を含有する範囲では、任意の2つの明確な値の間の任意の部分範囲が含まれる(例えば、1〜2、2〜6、5〜7、3〜7、5〜6など)。

式中、RVはミリリットルの保持体積であり、ピーク幅はミリリットルのものである。
本明細書で使用されるとき、「一軸降伏強度」は、以下の試験に従って測定される。
幾つかの異なる種類のEPDMから構成されるペレットを評価する。実施例に使用されるEPDMの特性を、下記に表1に提示する。
2200ppmの残留水分を有するEPDMペレット(NORDEL(商標)4770P)を、(i)非晶質親水性シリカ(Flo−Gard(商標)FF)及び(ii)非晶質親水性シリカ/タルク混合物(比5:3)によりバッチドラムミキサーにおいて被覆する。PE粉被覆ペレットの比較試料を、プロセスから得る。全ての試料を8000ppmの被覆剤で被覆する。被覆の際のペレット温度は、およそ22℃である。
様々な銘柄のNORDEL(商標)IPペレットを、8000ppmのPE粉及び6000ppmのシリカにより均一に被覆する(下記の表4に示す)。粘着試験手順を、275lb/ft2(1345kg/m3)の圧密応力により37℃で2か月間圧密した後、試料に対して実施する。シリカ被覆ペレットの改善された粘着特性は、低い値の一軸降伏強度により実証される。
EPDM(NORDEL(商標)4785P)ペレットの3つの20kgの試料を、6000ppmの非晶質親水性シリカ(Flo−Gard(商標)FF)、6000ppmのタルク(Speciality Minerals MP10−52)、及び6000ppmのシリカ/タルク(3000/3000)50/50混合物によりそれぞれ被覆する。ペレット水分を3700ppmで測定する。被覆ペレットを透明軟質ポリエチレンバッグに密封し、オーブンの中に37℃で24時間置いた。その後、バッグを、更なる目視観察(8時間、24時間、及び48時間)のために21℃で保持する。48時間後のバッグ内の凝縮についての目視観察は、非晶質親水性シリカから構成されるシリカ系被覆の改善された性能を実証する。
Claims (8)
- 混合装置に、エチレンから誘導される単位を60重量%超含むエチレン/プロピレン/ジエンポリマーから構成され、500ppm〜2500ppmの残留含水量を有するペレットを導入することと、
シリカ系粉末を前記混合装置に添加することと、
前記ペレットの少なくとも一部を、前記シリカ系粉末で被覆することと、
バルク量の前記被覆ペレットを、軟質ポリマーフィルムで作製されるバッグの中に密封することと、
前記シリカ系粉末により、前記ペレットから前記残留水分を吸収することと、
前記バッグ内部の結露を、前記密封ステップの7日後から前記密封ステップの1000日後までの期間にわたって防止することと、
を含むプロセス。 - A.軟質ポリマーフィルムから形成される密封バッグと、
B.前記密封バッグ内部のバルク量の被覆ペレットと、
を含み、前記ペレットが、
(i)エチレンから誘導される単位を少なくとも60重量%含み、前記ペレットが500ppm〜2500ppmの残留含水量を有する、エチレン/プロピレン/ジエンポリマーと、
(ii)前記ペレットの少なくとも一部の上にあり、シリカ系粉末を含む前記被覆と、
から構成され、
目に見える結露が、前記バッグが密封された7日後から前記バッグが密封された1000日後まで前記バッグの内部にない、
包装。 - 前記ペレットが、37℃で2か月間貯蔵した後に1平方フィートあたり200ポンド未満の最大一軸降伏強度を有する、請求項2に記載の前記包装。
- 前記シリカ系粉末が、非晶質シリカを含む、請求項2に記載の前記包装。
- 前記シリカ系粉末が、非晶質シリカとタルクとのブレンドを含む、請求項2に記載の前記包装。
- 前記ペレットが、グロス・メルトフラクチャーのペレットを含む、請求項2に記載の前記包装。
- 前記エチレン/プロピレン/ジエンポリマーが、20〜300のムーニー粘度を有する、請求項2に記載の前記包装。
- 3000ppm〜10000ppmの前記シリカ系粉末を含む、請求項2に記載の前記包装。
