Abstract
Description
潤滑油の酸化防止剤としては、芳香族アミン化合物やフェノール化合物等の連鎖停止剤、硫黄化合物やモリブデン化合物等の過酸化物分解剤などが従来から知られている。また、各種酸化防止剤の性能は、使用温度域で異なることや、相乗効果を期待して複数のものを併用することも行われている(特許文献1)。
芳香族アミン化合物やフェノール化合物などの無灰系の酸化防止剤はスラッジの生成が少ない特長を有している反面、自己犠牲型ゆえ消耗し長期間に潤滑油の劣化を防ぐことができない問題点があった。
一方、ジアルキルジチオリン酸亜鉛やモリブデン化合物など含硫黄金属錯体の過酸化物分解能は、触媒的に作用することが知られており、長期に酸化劣化を防止することができる。しかし、これらは使用過程にスラッジ化して、機器の損傷を招くなどの課題があった。
硫黄系化合物は、含硫黄金属錯体と同様に過酸化物分解剤と機能する。しかし、代表的な硫黄系酸化防止剤であるベンジルジスルフィドなどは、含硫黄金属錯体と比較して活性が低いなどの問題点を抱えていた。
また、本発明は、潤滑油基油の硫黄分が10質量ppm以下であることを特徴する前記の潤滑油組成物である。
さらに、本発明は、燃焼室を潤滑しない機械用潤滑油として用いられることを特徴とする前記の潤滑油組成物である。
なお、本発明でいう硫黄分とは、ICPにより測定される値をいう。
なお、本発明でいう全芳香族含有量とは、石油学会法JPI−5S−49−97「石油製品−炭化水素タイプ試験方法−高速液体クロマトグラフ」で測定される全芳香族の含有量を意味する。
なお、本発明でいう40℃における動粘度とは、毛細管粘度計法により測定される値をいう。
なお、本発明でいう粘度指数とは、JIS K 2283に準拠して測定された粘度指数を意味する。
また一般式(1)におけるnは1〜3の整数である。nが3を超えると潤滑油組成物の酸化安定性の改善効果が不十分になる傾向がある。
例えば、分子構造中に1つの不飽和結合を有する炭化水素化合物(オレフィン)2分子の硫化物(硫化オレフィン)として得ることができる。このようなオレフィンとしては、例えば、1−ヘキセン、1−オクテン、1−デセン、1−ドデセン、1−テトラデセン等1−ヘキサデセン、1−オクタデセン等が挙げられる。このとき結合するオレフィンは同一の化合物でも、異なる化合物であっても良い。
また、これらの中でも分子量が240以上のヒンダードフェノール系化合物は、分解温度が高く、より高温条件においてもその酸化防止効果が発揮されるため、より好ましく用いられる。
連鎖停止剤の含有量を0.01質量%以上とすることで十分な酸化防止性が得られ、10質量%以下であると基油への溶解性が十分に得られるため、それぞれ好ましい。
より具体的には、含硫黄金属錯体の含有量は、金属元素量として組成物全量基準で、50質量ppm以下であることが好ましく、より好ましくは20質量ppm以下、さらに好ましくは10質量ppm以下、最も好ましくは0質量ppmである。
かかる添加剤としては、例えば、カルシウムスルホネート等の金属系清浄剤;ジエチレングリコールモノアルキルエーテル等の湿潤剤;アクリルポリマー、パラフィンワックス、マイクロワックス、スラックワックス、ポリオレフィンワックス等の造膜剤;脂肪酸アミン塩等の水置換剤;グラファイト、フッ化黒鉛、二硫化モリブデン、窒化ホウ素、ポリエチレン粉末等の固体潤滑剤;アミン、アルカノールアミン、アミド、カルボン酸、カルボン酸塩、スルホン酸塩、リン酸、リン酸塩、多価アルコールの部分エステル等の腐食防止剤;ベンゾトリアゾール、チアジアゾール等の金属不活性化剤;メチルシリコーン、フルオロシリコーン、ポリアクリレート等の消泡剤;アルケニルコハク酸イミド、ベンジルアミン、ポリアルケニルアミンアミノアミド等の無灰分散剤;等が挙げられる。これらの公知の添加剤を併用する場合の含有量は特に制限されないが、これらの公知の添加剤の合計含有量が潤滑油組成物全量基準で0.1〜10質量%となるような量で添加するのが好ましい。
一方、40℃における動粘度は、1mm2/s以上であることが好ましく、2mm2/s以上であることがより好ましく、3mm2/s以上であることがさらに好ましい。
なお、実施例及び比較例で用いた基油及び添加剤は下記の通りである。
基油;高度精製鉱油基油(全芳香族含有量:0.3質量%、硫黄分:0質量ppm、40℃動粘度:35mm2/s、粘度指数:120)
(〔A〕成分);
A−1;一般式(1)で表される硫黄化合物(l,m=9、n=1、硫黄量:8.6質量%)
A−2;一般式(1)で表される硫黄化合物(l,m=7、n=2〜3、硫黄量:22質量%)
なお、A−1、A−2は、それぞれ1−ドデセンおよび1−デセンを硫化して硫化オレフィンを得、この硫化オレフィンを、シリカゲルによるゲルクロマトグラフィで抽出した画分である。得られたA−1、A−2はC13−NMR、FD−MSおよび元素分析にて同定した。
S−1;nが一般式(1)の規定を外れる硫黄化合物(l,m=9、n=4〜9、硫黄量:32質量%)
S−2;下記式で表されるスルフィド化合物(硫黄量:30質量%)
S−3;ジベンジルジスルフィド(東京化成工業株式会社製、硫黄量:26質量%)
B−1;フェノール系酸化防止剤(ジ−tert−ブチル−p−クレゾール)
B−2;フェノール系酸化防止剤(BASF社製、商品名「L135」)
表1に各種の潤滑油基油及び添加剤の配合量と性能を記載した。各添加剤の添加量(質量%)は潤滑油組成物全量基準である。
得られた各組成物について、酸化安定度およびスラッジ防止性能を以下に示すALCOA試験により評価した。この試験はASTM−D943に規定されているタービン油酸化安定度試験(TOSTと略す)と良好な相関性を持つことが知られている。
115mlのフラスコに試験油13mlを採取し、触媒として#240研摩の銅線(1.6mmφ×5cm)を5本入れる。次にフラスコ内を酸素ガスで置換し、すばやく水銀マノメータで密封する。その後、115℃の油浴にフラスコを浸漬し1時間放置する。この時のマノメータの差圧を読み、試験時間0hとして記録する。この値は、本実験に使用した全ての試験油に共通して約200mmHgであった。その後は一定時間ごとに差圧を測定し、酸素圧の降下が50mmHg以上になった時間を試験油の酸化寿命とした。また、試験後の試料油を目視し、不溶分(スラッジ)の有無を確認した。

- 〔B〕連鎖停止剤がヒンダードフェノールであることを特徴とする請求項1記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 潤滑油基油の硫黄分が10質量ppm以下であることを特徴する請求項1または2記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 燃焼室を潤滑しない機械用潤滑油として用いられることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の潤滑油組成物。
