Abstract
【解決手段】失禁の治療又は軽減のための、仙骨神経叢から出る神経の経皮的な電気刺激が実施される。好ましくは、外側膝窩神経は膝窩の領域で刺激される。刺激は非侵襲的であり、装置が作動されると、制御電子回路は、0.1秒間、20mA(ミリアンペア)、40HzのパルスDC(直流)を提供するように、電極を作動させる。これが、30分間、30秒ごとに繰り返される。これは、週1回、患者に行われる、1つの完全な治療サイクルを形成する。

Claims (14)
- 失禁を治療及び/又は軽減するための方法であって、
仙骨神経叢から出る神経が刺激されるように、患者の足に経皮的な電気刺激を与えることを含む方法。 - 前記神経が坐骨神経、脛骨神経、及び膝窩神経から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 外側及び内側膝窩神経のいずれか又は双方が刺激される、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 外側膝窩神経が膝窩の領域で刺激される、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 使用される前記電気刺激が、関係する神経によって支配される筋肉の収縮を引き起こすのに不十分である、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記刺激がパルスDC波形である、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記刺激が0.1〜100Hz、好ましくは30〜60Hz、より好ましくは40〜50Hzの周波数を有する、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 治療が時間をかけて繰り返し行われる、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 治療が数日間、数週間、数ヶ月間、又は数年間の間隔で継続される、請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 治療が30分のブロックで行われる、請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 尿失禁の治療のための、請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 便失禁の治療のための、請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 失禁を治療又は軽減するための装置であって、
患者の足に配置するように適合された少なくとも1つの経皮電極と、
前記電極に接続された電源と、
仙骨神経叢から出る神経の経皮的電気刺激が有効となるように前記電極を作動させるための制御手段と
を備え、
前記制御手段は、前記仙骨神経叢へ及びそこから膀胱及び/又は直腸を支配する神経へ信号を伝播するのに十分な電気刺激を提供するために前記電極を作動させるように適合されることを特徴とする装置。 - 前記制御手段は、前記刺激される神経によって支配される筋肉の筋収縮を引き起こすには不十分な電気刺激を提供するために前記電極を作動させるように適合される、請求項13に記載の装置。
