Claims (7)
- 互いに交差する複数の信号配線および複数の走査配線と、前記信号配線と前記走査配線との交差部の近傍領域もしくは前記走査配線上に設けられたスイッチング素子と、前記スイッチング素子に接続された画素電極と、共通電位が供給された対向電極と、により構成される画素がマトリクス状に配置された第一の基板と、前記第一の基板に対向して設けられた第二の基板と、前記第一の基板と前記第二の基板との間に挟持された液晶と、を備え、前記画素電極と前記共通電極との間に前記第一の基板と略平行な電界を印加する横電界方式の液晶表示装置において、
前記信号配線の下層に、前記共通電位に設定された下層電界シールド電極が設けられ、かつ、前記下層電界シールド電極が、前記画素がマトリクス状に配置された表示領域内で他の共通電位に設定された配線および電極と電気的に接続されていないことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記信号配線の上層に上層絶縁膜を介して前記信号配線に重畳するように、前記共通電位に設定された上層電界シールド電極が設けられたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記スイッチング素子が逆スタガ型TFT素子であり、前記下層電界シールド電極が前記走査配線より下層に下層絶縁膜を介して設けられたことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記下層絶縁膜が、少なくとも酸化ケイ素膜を含むことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記下層電界シールド電極に電圧供給する配線が、前記信号配線の延在する方向に沿って設けられていることを特徴とする請求項3又は4に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記下層電界シールド電極に電圧供給する配線が、前記信号配線の延在する方向と前記走査配線の延在する方向の両方向に設けられていることを特徴とする請求項3又は4に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記下層電界シールド電極が、前記第一の基板の法線方向から見て、前記信号配線を覆っていることを特徴とする請求項3乃至6のいずれか一に記載の液晶表示装置。
