Abstract

本発明は、石炭、低品位炭(low−ranked coal)、及び特に亜瀝青炭の、空気酸化及び自然燃焼を抑制する、方法及び組成物に関する。亜瀝青炭は、海に洗いざらしにされない淡水泥炭地の中で形成し、したがって、固有の化学品特性を有する。その形成の違いのため、亜瀝青炭はゆるい孔構造を有しており、多量の水を保持する。その結果、亜瀝青炭は他の石炭、例えば無煙炭又は瀝青炭よりも効果的でない燃料であり、同量のエネルギーを生じるのに2倍の量の石炭塊が必要である可能性がある。亜瀝青炭は、完全燃焼する前に炉壁を汚しスラグになる大きな黄鉄鉱粒子もまた含む。歴史的に、亜瀝青炭は価値がより低く、発電のためにはあまり望ましくない原料燃料であると認識されていることは驚くことではない。
Claims (14)
- 低品位炭の塊の自然燃焼を抑制する方法であって、前記方法は阻害剤組成物を石炭に適用することを含んでおり、前記組成物は、粗製グリセリン、及びVAEコポリマー又はPVAコポリマーを、90:10〜10:90の比率で含む、方法。
- 前記組成物の存在がなければ前記塊が酸化誘発型自然燃焼をするであろう時間、前記石炭を静置したままにする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記石炭を堆積内へと配置する前に、前記低品位炭を、空気又は酸化雰囲気へと少なくとも5日間暴露する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記石炭が通過し、前記石炭の一部が蓄積及び残留する少なくとも1つのピンチポイントを含む装置によって前記石炭を取り扱う、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記石炭を船艙内に積載して、少なくとも30,000トンの堆積で少なくとも10日間静置したままにする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記石炭が亜瀝青炭である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記組成物は、純粋なグリセリンと混合したVAEの混合物における割合よりも高い割合で自然燃焼を抑制する、請求項1に記載の方法。
