Abstract
Description
疎水性流体(a)は、界面活性剤の臨界ミセル濃度を上回る濃度で、洗剤の水性分散液の動的表面張力を超えるか、ほぼ等しいが62未満である表面張力を有する。「界面活性剤の臨界ミセル濃度を上回る濃度で、洗剤の水性分散液の動的表面張力を超えるか、ほぼ等しい」とは、疎水性流体の静的表面張力が、臨界ミセル濃度を上回る濃度で、洗剤の水性分散液の動的表面張力の少なくとも95%であることを意図する。いくつかの実施形態では、疎水性流体は、少なくとも27mN/mかつ40mN/m未満の表面張力を有する。27〜40mN/mの表面張力を有する疎水性流体は、洗剤組成物によって水性媒体中でイオン化され得る活性水素を有する任意の極性基を含有しない。かかる基は、例えば、カルボン酸基、スルホン酸基、硫酸基、アミド基又はリン酸基である。
泡制御組成物は、ポリジオルガノシロキサン流体中に分散した疎水性充填剤(b)を含有する。泡制御剤における疎水性充填剤は周知であり、1つの実施形態によると、BET測定法によって測定される表面積が少なくとも50m2/gである、シリカ、チタニア、石英粉末、アルミナ、アルミノケイ酸塩、酸化亜鉛、酸化マグネシウム、脂肪族カルボン酸の塩、例えばシクロヘキシルアミンなどのイソシアネートとアミンとの反応生成物、又はエチレンビスステアロアミド若しくはメチレンビスステアロアミドなどのアルキルアミドなどの100℃で固体の微粒子材料である。これらのうちの2つ以上の混合物が使用され得る。
本発明の実施形態の消泡剤組成物は、任意で1つ以上の有機ケイ素樹脂を含み得る。有機ケイ素樹脂は、非線形シロキサン樹脂であり得る。1つの実施形態では、有機ケイ素樹脂は、(式)R’aSiO(4−a)/2を有するシロキサンユニットを含み、式中、R’はヒドロキシル基、炭化水素基、又は炭化水素オキシ基を表し、約0.5〜約2.4の平均値を有する。1つの実施形態では、有機ケイ素樹脂は、(式)R”3SiO1/2の一価トリ炭化水素シロキシ(M)基、及びテトラ官能(Q)基SiO4/2を含み、R”は一価の炭化水素基を表す。1つの実施形態では、洗濯洗剤用途での使用において、M/Q比は、約0.4:1〜約2.5:1((式)R’aSiO(4−a)/2において約0.86〜約2.15の値と等しい)の範囲である。別の実施形態では、洗濯洗剤用途での使用において、M/Q比は、約0.4:1〜約1.1:1である。更に別の実施形態では、洗濯洗剤用途での使用において、M/Q比は、約0.5:1〜約0.8:1((式)R’aSiO(4−a)/2において約1.0〜約1.33の値と等しい)の範囲である。
本発明の実施形態の泡阻害組成物は、顆粒形状である。泡阻害組成物は、一般的に、結合剤によって顆粒に凝集する特定の担体上で担持される。結合剤は、液体結合媒体として担体に適用されてよく、固体化されて担体粒子に一緒に結合することができる材料を含み得る。結合剤は、室温(例えば、約20℃〜約25℃)で固体の稠度を有する、例えば、約35℃〜約100℃の融点を有するろう様材料のような材料を含み得る。
結合剤又は膜形成剤(例えば、脂肪族アルコール、脂肪族アルコールエトキシレート、脂肪酸、脂肪酸エステル、ポリエチレングリコール、グリセリドのカルボキシレート基のエステルによって完全又は部分的にエステル化されたポリオールエステル)として使用される従来の有機ワックスは、アルキルシロキサンワックスを使用して得られるレベルの性能をもたらすことに失敗している。シロキサンワックスと有機結合剤との組み合わせを有する消泡剤顆粒は、洗浄プロセスにおけるすすぎサイクルにおいて泡を制御するのに有効であることが見いだされた。したがって、シロキサンワックスと有機結合剤の組み合わせを含む粒状消泡剤組成物は、向上した粒状消泡剤であることも示されている。
本発明の実施形態に使用され得る担体は、水溶性担体を含む。あるいは、担体は、非水溶性及び/又は水分散性であり得る。担体粒子の好適な例としては、シリカ、ケイ酸塩、アルミノケイ酸塩、炭酸塩、硫酸塩、リン酸塩(例えば、三リン酸ナトリウム)、過ホウ酸ナトリウム、及びオキシドが挙げられる。好ましいシリカ粒子の例としては、珪藻土、焼成珪藻土、石英、砂及びシリカヒュームが挙げられる。好ましいケイ酸塩及びアルミノケイ酸塩の例としては、ケイ酸マグネシウム、ゼオライト、メタカオリン、長石、タルク、海泡石、ウォラストナイト、マイカなどのフィロケイ酸塩及びベントナイトなどの粘土材料が挙げられる。好ましい炭酸塩の例としては、炭酸カルシウム、炭酸ナトリウム、重炭酸ナトリウム、炭酸マグネシウム及びドロマイトが挙げられる。好ましい硫酸塩の例としては、硫酸カルシウム、セッコウ、硫酸ナトリウム、硫酸マグネシウム及び硫酸鉄が挙げられる。好ましいオキシド及びオキシド材料の例としては、アルミナ、二酸化チタン、酸化マグネシウム、石灰、セメント、及び水酸化カルシウムが挙げられる。好適な担体粒子の更なる例としては、デンプン、粒状デンプン、米デンプン、天然デンプン、焼成米及びデンプン残留物(例えば、籾殻灰)、クエン酸ナトリウム、セスキ炭酸ナトリウム、メチルセルロース、カルボキシメチルセルロース、セルロース誘導体(例えば、カルボキシメチルセルロースナトリウム)、ポリスチレンビーズ、ポリアクリレートビーズ、酢酸ナトリウム、泥炭、木粉、糖及び糖誘導体、コーンコブ、及びフライアッシュ又はスラグなどの工業生成物又は副生成物などの有機材料が挙げられる。担体の平均粒径は、約0.2μm〜約1000μm、あるいは約0.2μm〜約50μm、あるいは約1μm〜約10μmの範囲内であり得る。担体粒子は、一般的に、粒状生成物に対して約40重量%〜約90重量%、あるいは約60重量%〜約90重量%で形成される。泡阻害疎水性流体は、一般的に、粒状生成物に対して約5重量%〜約50重量%、あるいは粒状生成物に対して約5重量%〜約25重量%で形成される。
本発明の実施形態の泡阻害顆粒は、凝集プロセスを使用して形成され得る。疎水性流体又は疎水性流体の組み合わせを含む消泡剤は、超微粒子状固体疎水性粒子と混合され、これらは、適切な撹拌/混合装置又はホモジナイザーを使用して分散される。次に、消泡剤組成物は、シロキサンワックスが液体である温度で、シロキサンワックス中に分散される。シロキサンワックスの融点を超える温度で維持しながら、次に、粒子を撹拌し、混合物を冷却しながら、生じた溶融液体混合物を担体粒子上に沈着又は噴霧する。あるいは、消泡剤組成物及びシロキサンワックスは、担体粒子に別々に沈着又は噴霧されてよく、又はシリコーンワックスは、粒状担体上に後被覆することで加えられてよい。
代替プロセスにおいて、疎水性流体及び疎水性充填剤を含む消泡剤混合物は、水中で乳化され、生じた水性エマルションは担体粒子上に沈着される。シロキサンワックス結合剤は、消泡剤エマルションの沈着と同時又は沈着後のいずれかに、別々に担体上に沈着される。担持される泡制御組成物は、粒子の安定性を向上するために、水溶性結合剤又は水分散性結合剤を更に含み得る。
本発明の実施形態の粒状消泡剤組成物は、洗剤組成物に対して、約0.1〜約10重量%の濃度で洗剤組成物に加えられ得る。1つの実施形態では、粒状消泡剤組成物は、約0.4〜約5重量%の濃度で加えられる。
以下で表される「ポリシロキサンA」は、実質的に等モル量で、メチルC12〜14アルキルシロキサンユニットと、メチル2−メチル−2−カルボキシエチルシロキサンユニットとを含む、約0.0012m2/s(1200cSt)の粘度の実質的に直鎖状のポリジオルガノシロキサンであり、ここで、カルボキシエチル基はC12〜C13アルキル基である。
市販の手洗い洗剤の発泡特性を、本発明の実施形態の粒状消泡剤を市販の手洗い洗剤に加えたものの発泡特性と比較した。本実施例に使用される市販の手洗い洗剤は、(a)Ariel(登録商標)(Procter & Gamble Co.,Cincinnati,Ohio)、(b)SURF EXCEL(商標)(Unilever,London,United Kingdom)、及び(c)LIBY(登録商標)(Guangzhou Liby Enterprise Group Co.Ltd.,Guangzhou,China)であった。
本実施例に使用される洗剤は、SURF EXCEL(商標)であった。結合剤は、LUTENSOL(登録商標)AT 80(C16〜C18脂肪族アルコール+80 EO)又はCARBOWAX(登録商標)PEG 8000(ポリエチレングリコール)(Dow Chemical Corp.,Midland,MI)を含んでいた。
本実施例において、本発明の実施形態の消泡剤を、パラフィン、グリセリド、第四級アンモニウム、ポリエチレングリコール、及びエトキシル化アルコールの中から選択される異なるワックスに封入した。生じた混合物を粉末化硫酸ナトリウム上に噴霧した。実施例1で上述したのと同様の試験プロトコルを使用して、得られた粒状消泡剤を手洗い中に評価した。
本実施例において、消泡剤をワックスAとグリセリルモノステアレート(GMS)の混合物に封入した。実施例1で上述したのと同様の試験プロトコルを使用して、得られた粒状消泡剤を手洗い中に評価した。
本実施例では、本発明の実施形態の消泡剤を、ワックスAと、LUTENSOL(登録商標)AT 80又はCARBOWAX(登録商標)PEG 8000のいずれかとの混合物で封入した。実施例1で上述したのと同様の試験プロトコルを使用して、生じた粒状消泡剤を手洗い中に評価した。
本実施例では、本発明の実施形態の消泡剤を、トリメチルステアリルオキシシラン及びステアリルアルコール(以下、「ワックスB」)で封入した。実施例1で上述したのと同様の試験プロトコルを使用して、得られた粒状消泡剤を手洗い中に評価した。
Claims (17)
- 粒状消泡剤組成物であって、
(1)
(a)界面活性剤の臨界ミセル濃度を上回る濃度で、洗剤の水性分散液の動的表面張力を超えるか又はほぼ等しく、約62mN/m未満である表面張力を有する疎水性流体、及び
(b)前記疎水性流体中に分散した超微粒子状固体疎水性充填剤、を含む消泡剤と、
(2)シロキサンワックス結合剤と、
(3)担体と、を含む組成物。 - 前記疎水性流体は、ポリイソブチレン、オルガノポリシロキサン流体、又はこれらの組み合わせから選択される、請求項1に記載の粒状消泡剤。
- 前記シロキサンワックス結合剤は、アルキル官能性シリコーンワックス、アルキル官能性シラン、アミン官能性シリコーンワックス、アミド官能性シリコーンワックス、又は12〜80個の炭素原子を有するこれらの組み合わせである、請求項1に記載の粒状消泡剤。
- 前記シロキサンワックス結合剤は、更に少なくとも1つの有機結合剤を含む、請求項1に記載の粒状消泡剤。
- 洗剤組成物であって、
界面活性剤と、
請求項1に記載の粒状消泡剤組成物と、を含む組成物。 - 前記洗剤組成物は、洗濯洗剤、食器洗い用洗剤、又はパーソナルケア用洗剤から選択される、請求項5に記載の洗剤組成物。
- 前記パーソナルケア用洗剤は、シャンプー、シャワージェル、又は固体石鹸から選択される、請求項6に記載の洗剤組成物。
- 粒状消泡剤配合物を形成する方法であって、前記方法は、
疎水性充填剤と疎水性流体とを混和して消泡剤を形成する工程であって、前記疎水性流体は、界面活性剤の臨界ミセル濃度を上回る濃度で、洗剤の水性分散液の動的表面張力を超えるか、ほぼ等しく、約62mN/m未満である表面張力を有する工程と、
前記消泡剤及びシロキサンワックス結合剤を担体に沈着させることで消泡剤を造粒する工程と、を含む、方法。 - 前記消泡剤及び前記シロキサンワックス結合剤は、担体上に噴霧される、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記疎水性流体は、ポリイソブチレン、オルガノポリシロキサン流体、又はこれらの組み合わせから選択される、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記シロキサンワックス結合剤は、アルキル官能性シリコーンワックス、アルキル官能性シラン、アミン官能性シリコーンワックス、アミド官能性シリコーンワックス、又は12〜80個の炭素原子を有するこれらの組み合わせである、請求項8に記載の方法。

- 基材を洗浄する方法であって、前記方法は、
洗剤組成物を基材に適用する工程であって、前記洗剤組成物は、界面活性剤及び粒状消泡剤組成物を含み、前記粒状消泡剤組成物は、(a)疎水性流体及び前記疎水性流体中に分散した超微粒子状固体疎水性充填剤、及び(b)シロキサンワックス結合剤、及び(c)担体、を含む工程と、
前記基材を水性媒体中で前記洗剤組成物で洗浄する工程であって、前記消泡剤は、洗浄作業中の発泡には実質的には影響しない工程と、
洗剤組成物が適用された前記基材を水ですすぐ工程であって、前記すすぎ工程中の発泡が阻害される工程と、を含む、基材を洗浄する方法。 - 前記疎水性流体は、ポリイソブチレン、オルガノポリシロキサン流体、又はこれらの組み合わせから選択される、請求項15に記載の方法。
