Description
本願は、2011年9月7日出願の米国特許仮出願第61/531,640号の利益を主張し、同出願は参照により本明細書に組み込まれる。
A)エチレン/α−オレフィン/ジエンインターポリマーと、
B)A及びBの合計重量に基づいて、40〜70重量%のエチレン/α−オレフィン/コポリマーと、
C)硫黄含有化合物とを含む組成物を提供する。
A)エチレン/α−オレフィン/ジエンインターポリマーと、
B)A及びBの合計重量に基づいて、40〜70重量%のエチレン/α−オレフィン/コポリマーと、
C)硫黄含有化合物とを含む組成物を提供する。
エチレン/α−オレフィン/ジエンインターポリマーは、重合した形態で、エチレン、α−オレフィン及びジエンを含む。ジエンは、共役していてもよいし、共役していなくてもよく、好ましくは共役していない。α−オレフィンの適当な例として、C3−C10α−オレフィンが挙げられ、好ましくはプロピレンが挙げられる。非共役ポリエンの適当な例として、C4−C40非共役ジエンが挙げられる。
適当なエチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマーとしては、不均一線状エチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマー、均一に分枝した線状エチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマー、及び均一に分枝した実質的に線状のエチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマーが挙げられ、好ましくは、均一に分枝した線状エチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマー、及び均一に分枝した実質的に線状のエチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマーが挙げられ、さらに好ましくは均一に分枝した実質的に線状のエチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマーが挙げられる。それぞれのポリマーは、チーグラー・ナッタ触媒、メタロセン又はバナジウム系シングルサイト触媒、あるいは束縛構造シングルサイト触媒、あるいは他のシングルサイト触媒を用いて調製できる。他のシングルサイト触媒は、米国特許出願公開第2005/0164872号明細書、国際公開第2007/136494号、及び国際公開第2011/002998号に記載されている。
発明組成物は、1つ以上の添加剤を含んでもよい。適当な添加剤としては、以下に限定されないが、充填剤、酸化防止剤、UV安定剤、難燃剤、着色剤、及びこれらの組み合わせが挙げられる。
本発明の組成物は、種々の物品又は製品、あるいはこれらの構成要素又は部分を調製するために使用することができる。前記発明組成物は、多数の従来の方法及び装置のいずれか1つによる最終製品に変換され得る。例示的な方法としては、以下に限定されないが、押出法、圧延法、圧縮成形法、及びその他の典型的な熱硬化性材料形成法が挙げられる。例えば、物品は、押出し、押出し次いで付加的熱処理、低圧成形、圧縮成形などによって調製できる。
本明細書で使用する用語「組成物」は、組成物を含む材料、ならびに組成物の材料から形成される反応生成物及び分解生成物の混合物を含む。あらゆる反応生成物及び分解生成物は、典型的には極微量又は残留量で存在する。
ムーニー粘度
インターポリマーのMV(100℃でML1+4)は、ASTM 1646−04に従って予熱時間1分及びローター操作時間4分で測定する。装置は、Alpha Technologies製のRheometer MDR2000である。
溶融粘度は、Brookfield Digital Viscometer(DV−II+型、バージョン3)および使い捨てアルミニウムサンプルチャンバーを使用して、ASTM D3236(350°F)に従って測定した。使用したスピンドルは、一般的に10〜100,000センチポイズの範囲の粘度を測定するのに適切な、SC−31ホットメルトスピンドルである。サンプルを前記チャンバーに注ぎ入れ、次いでそれをBrookfield Thermoselに挿入し、固定する。サンプルチャンバーは、底にノッチがあり、ノッチは、Brookfield Thermoselの底にぴったり合い、スピンドルが挿入され回転した場合、チャンバーが回転しないことを確実にする。溶融したサンプルがサンプルチャンバーの頂部から約1インチ下になるまで、サンプル(約8〜10グラムの樹脂)を目的温度に加熱する。粘度測定装置を下げ、スピンドルをサンプルチャンバーの中に沈める。粘度計のブラケットがThermosel上に整列するまで、降下を続ける。粘度計のスイッチを入れ、粘度計のRPM出力に基づいて総トルク容量の40〜60%の範囲でトルク読み込みができるせん断速度で作動するように設定する。読み込みは、約15分間毎分、または値が安定化するまで行い、その時点での、最終読み込みを記録する。
NORDEL IP 4725P Hydrocarbon Rubber(以後、NORDEL IP 4725Pとする)は、21〜29のムーニー粘度(125℃でML1+4について算出される、ASTM D1646)を有し、重量%の大部分を占めるエチレン(重合した)を含有するエチレン/プロピレン/ジエン(ENB)である。
組成物を、第1のステップにおいて、下記に示すように、2ロールラボラトリーブレンダー(two−roll laboratory blender)で厚さ約「3mm」の未加硫シートに加工した。ロールミル温度は、以下に示すように設定した。最初に、ドライブレンドポリマーをロールミルに加え、均一バンク(混合)を達成するまで(約60秒)混ぜ合わせた。次に、添加剤をバンクに加え、混合時間をさらに4分間続け、最終バンクを、ロールミルから引き出して未加硫シートを形成した。シートは、周囲雰囲気下で、約24時間で室温に冷却した。

温度設定: 前ロール=105℃、背面ロール=100℃
ロール速度: 前ロール4rpm
背面ロール5rpm
ロールギャップ: 1mm
全配合時間: 5分
サンプルを架橋プラックから切り取り、熱間硬化試験を行った。熱間硬化試験は、ISO 60811−2−1に従って行った。サンプル形態及び試験条件は、表2に示す。熱間伸び率(%)は、熱間硬化オーブンで露出5分後に測定した。低温伸び率(%)は、周囲温度で10分後に測定した。
溶接特性の評価に対して、上記のとおり、2つの架橋試験サンプル(250mm×125mm×2mm)を、プラックから切り取り、下記のとおり、Leister Triac−S加熱溶接装置を用いて加熱溶接した。2つのサンプルは、80mm×250mmの重なる領域が存在するように配置した。
熱間硬化及び溶接の結果を表3に示す。サンプル1は、100%EPDM、当業界での一般的な方法による基準に基づいて、硫黄加硫配合物である。このサンプルは、熱間硬化のデータによっても示されるように、高度架橋であり、溶接可能ではない。
Claims (13)
- 組成物であって、
A)エチレン/α−オレフィン/ジエンインターポリマーと、
B)A及びBの合計重量に基づいて、40〜70重量%のエチレン/α−オレフィン/コポリマーと
C)硫黄含有化合物と
を含む組成物。 - 前記成分Bのエチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマーが、A及びBの合計重量に基づいて40〜60重量%の量で存在する、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記成分Aのエチレン/α−オレフィン/ジエンインターポリマーが、ムーニー粘度(ML1+4、125℃)10〜50を有する、請求項1又は2に記載の組成物。
- 前記成分Bのエチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマーが、4〜40のメルトインデックス(I2)を有する、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の組成物。
- さらに、非ハロゲン系難燃剤、又は臭素化難燃剤から選択される難燃剤を含む、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の組成物。
- 前記難燃剤が、前記組成物の重量に基づいて、30〜50重量%の量で存在する、請求項4に記載の組成物。
- 成分A及びBが、前記組成物の重量に基づいて、少なくとも50重量%含まれる、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の組成物。
- 成分Aが、前記組成物の重量に基づいて、30重量%を超える量で存在する、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の組成物。
- 前記エチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマーが、均一に分枝した線状のエチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマー又は均一に分枝した実質的に線状のエチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマーである、請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の組成物。
- 前記エチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマーが、均一に分枝した実質的に線状のエチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマーである、請求項9に記載の組成物。
- 請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載の組成物から形成される架橋組成物。
- 請求項1〜11のいずれか1項に記載の組成物から形成された少なくとも1つの成分を含む物品。
- 前記物品が、防水加工膜である、請求項12に記載の物品。
