Abstract
Description
本願は、米国特許法第119条(e)に基づき、2011年8月23日出願の「Multi−Core Golf Ball Having Increased Initial Velocity At High Swing Speeds Relative To Low Swing Speeds」という名称の米国仮特許出願第61/526,621号明細書の優先権を主張する。上記米国仮特許出願は、本願の参照となる。
本開示において、内側コアは、内側コア110または内側コア310などの内側コアを指す。内側コアはゴルフボールの最も内部の中心構造構成要素であって、ゴルフボール中心260(またはゴルフボール中心460)を含む。一般に、内側コアは、従来のゴルフボールの場合のように熱硬化性ゴム組成物から形成される代わりに、熱可塑性樹脂から主に形成されてもよい。熱可塑性樹脂は、いずれかの特定の限定を前提としないが、ナイロン、ポリアリレート、イオノマー樹脂、高度に中和されたイオノマー樹脂または高度に中和されたポリマー(HNP)、ポリプロピレン樹脂、ポリウレタンをベースとする熱可塑性エラストマー、およびポリエステルをベースとする熱可塑性エラストマーによって例証される。内側コアを形成するために、Surlyn AD8512(DuPontから入手可能なイオノマー樹脂)、Himilan 1706およびHimilan 1707(両方ともDuPont−Mitsui Polychemicalsから入手可能なイオノマー樹脂)、HPF樹脂(Dupontからの高度に中和されたポリマー)、Rilsan BMNO(Arkemaから入手可能なナイロン系樹脂)、ならびにU−ポリマーU−8000(Unitikaから入手可能なポリアリレート樹脂)などの市販の製品が使用されてもよい。

(b)イソシアネートに対する少なくとも2つの反応部位を有し、約450未満の分子量を有する鎖延長剤、
(c)約500〜約4,000の分子量を有する長鎖ポリオール、ならびに
(d)フリーラジカルを発生させるのに十分な量のフリーラジカル開始剤(フリーラジカル開始によって硬質セグメントに架橋構造を誘導する)。
(式中、Rは、置換済みのまたは未置換のアルキル基であり、xおよびyは、1〜4の値を独立して有する整数である)によって表されてもよい。特定の実施形態において、xおよびyは両方とも、1、2、3または4の値を有する。他の実施形態において、xおよびyは、それぞれ、1〜4の様々な値を有する。
図1に示されるゴルフボール100または図2に示されるゴルフボール300などの本開示に従うゴルフボールは、様々な物理的特徴および特性を有してもよい。例えば、ゴルフボールは、USGA規格と一致する直径を有してもよい。すなわち、ゴルフボールは少なくとも42.67mmの直径を有してもよく(1.680インチUSGA規格)、または他の実施形態において、直径は、44mm以下、または43.8mm以下、または43.5mm以下、または43mm以下であってよい。
Claims (20)
- 少なくとも1つの熱可塑性の高度に中和されたポリマーから主に形成される内側コアと、
前記内側コアを実質的に取り囲み、熱硬化性ゴムを含んでなる外側コア層と、
少なくとも1層のカバー層と、
を備え、
前記内側コアが約3.5mm〜約4.1mmの圧縮変形を有し、前記外側コア層が約2.7mm〜約3.3mmの圧縮変形を有し、前記内側コアの圧縮変形対前記外側コア層の圧縮変形の比率が約1.1〜約1.3であり、約125mph(約201km/h)のクラブヘッド速度で測定されたときに、少なくとも約174mph(約280km/h)の初速を有し、多くとも約0.80のCORを有する、ゴルフボール。 - 前記内側コアが約20mm〜約26mmの直径を有し、前記外側コア層が約5mm〜約9mmの厚さを有する、請求項1に記載のゴルフボール。
- 約80mph(約129km/h)のクラブヘッド速度において測定される少なくとも88mph(約142km/h)の初速を有し、約125mph(約201km/h)のクラブヘッド速度における初速と、約80mph(約129km/h)のクラブヘッド速度における初速との差が少なくとも約86mph(約138km/h)である、請求項1に記載のゴルフボール。
- 前記外側コア層が少なくとも約55の表面ショアD硬度を有する、請求項1に記載のゴルフボール。
- 前記内側コアが本質的に2つの高度に中和されたポリマーの混合物からなる、請求項1に記載のゴルフボール。
- 前記内側コアが第1のCORを有し、
前記外側コア層が第2のCORを有し、
前記第2のCORが前記第1のCORより高くかつCORが0.80以上であり、
前記第1のCORが前記ゴルフボールCORより高い、請求項1に記載のゴルフボール。 - 前記カバー層が、フリーラジカル開始剤によって触媒された、ポリウレタンポリマーの硬質セグメントに位置する不飽和結合からの反応生成物である架橋熱可塑性ポリウレタンを含んでなり、前記不飽和結合が、式(1)
(式中、R1は、種々の置換済みの若しくは未置換のアルキル、置換済みの若しくは未置換のアリール、置換済みの若しくは未置換のアルキルアリール基、置換済みの若しくは未置換のエーテル基、置換済みの若しくは未置換のエステル基、前記基のいずれかの組み合わせ、またはHであってよく、選択的に種々の基の主鎖または側鎖に不飽和結合を含み、R2は、適切な置換済みの若しくは未置換のアルキル、置換済みの若しくは未置換のアリール、置換済みの若しくは未置換のアルキルアリール基、置換済みの若しくは未置換のエーテル基、置換済みの若しくは未置換のエステル基、または単結合の延長であってよく、R2はアリル基を含み、xおよびyは、1〜10のいずれかの値を独立して有する整数である)の不飽和ジオールに存在する、請求項1に記載のゴルフボール。 - 少なくとも1つの熱可塑性の高度に中和されたポリマーから主に形成され、約20mm〜約26mmの直径を有する内側コアと、
前記内側コアを実質的に取り囲み、熱硬化性ゴムから主に製造され、約5mm〜約9mmの厚さを有する外側コア層と、
前記外側コア層を実質的に取り囲む内側カバー層と、
前記内側カバー層を実質的に取り囲む外側カバー層と、
を備え、
前記内側コアが約3.5mm〜約4.1mmの圧縮変形を有し、前記外側コア層が約2.7mm〜約3.3mmの圧縮変形を有し、前記内側コアの圧縮変形対前記外側コア層の圧縮変形の比率が約1.1〜約1.3であり、
前記内側コアが第1のCORを有し、前記外側コアが第2のCORを有し、前記第2のCORが前記第1のCORより高く、少なくとも0.8の値を有し、
約125mph(約201km/h)のクラブヘッド速度で測定されたときに、少なくとも約174mph(約280km/h)の初速を有する、ゴルフボール。 - 約80mph(約129km/h)のクラブヘッド速度において測定される少なくとも88mph(約142km/h)の初速を有する、請求項8に記載のゴルフボール。
- 前記内側カバー層が熱可塑性材料から主に形成され、少なくとも60の表面ショアD硬度を有し、かつ1mm未満の厚さを有し、
前記外側カバー層が熱可塑性材料を含んでなり、50〜60の表面ショアD硬度を有し、かつ前記内側カバー層の厚さより厚い厚さを有する、請求項8に記載のゴルフボール。 - 前記不飽和ジオールがトリメチロールプロパンモノアリルエーテルである、請求項11に記載のゴルフボール。
- 約0.80以下のCORを有する、請求項8に記載のゴルフボール。
- 本質的に少なくとも1つの高度に中和されたポリマーからなる内側コアと、
前記内側コアを実質的に取り囲み、熱硬化性ゴムから主に製造される外側コア層と、
前記外側コア層を実質的に取り囲む内側カバー層と、
前記内側カバー層を実質的に取り囲む外側カバー層と、
を備え、
約125mph(約201km/h)のクラブヘッド速度で測定されたときに、少なくとも約174mph(約280km/h)の初速を有する、ゴルフボール。 - 約80mph(約129km/h)のクラブヘッド速度において測定される少なくとも88mph(約142km/h)の初速を有し、かつ約125mph(約201km/h)のクラブヘッド速度における初速と、約80mph(約129km/h)のクラブヘッド速度における初速との差が少なくとも約86mph(約138km/h)である、請求項14に記載のゴルフボール。
- 前記内側コアが、本質的に2つの高度に中和されたポリマーの混合物からなる、請求項14に記載のゴルフボール。
- 前記内側コアが約20mm〜約26mmの直径を有し、
前記外側コア層が約5mm〜約9mmの厚さを有し、
前記内側カバー層が1mm未満の厚さを有し、
前記外側カバー層が、前記内側カバー層の厚さより厚い厚さを有する、請求項14に記載のゴルフボール。 - 前記内側コアが第1のCORを有し、
前記外側コア層が第2のCORを有し、
前記第2のCORが前記第1のCORより高くかつ0.80以上であり、
前記第1のCORが前記ゴルフボールCORより高い、請求項14に記載のゴルフボール。 - 約0.80以下のCORを有する、請求項18に記載のゴルフボール。
- 前記内側コアが少なくとも約60の表面ショアD硬度を有し、
前記外側コア層が約50〜約60の表面ショアD硬度を有し、
前記内側カバー層が少なくとも60の表面ショアD硬度を有し、
前記外側カバー層が約50〜約60の表面ショアD硬度を有する、請求項14に記載のゴルフボール。
